New York Turns Into a High-Tech Police Fortress
Antifascist
August 14, 2008
However, the New York Civil Liberties Union (NYCLU) has denounced the proposal as “an attack on New Yorkers’ right to privacy.” NYCLU Executive Director Donna Lieberman lambasted this outrageous proposal saying,
Despite repeated attempts by NYCLU to obtain information on Operation Sentinel, NYPD and DHS have refused to provide any information about their mega-surveillance system. While all traces of CTS disappeared from DARPA’s website, portions of the program have resurfaced with a vengeance, courtesy of the NYPD and DHS.
According to New York Times reporter Al Baker,
Data on each vehicle–its time-stamped image, license plate imprint and radiological signature–would be sent to a command center in Lower Manhattan, where it would be indexed and stored for at least a month as part of a broad security plan that emphasizes protecting the city’s financial district, the spokesman, Paul J. Browne, said. If it were not linked to a suspicious vehicle or a law enforcement investigation, it would be eliminated, he said. Geraldo Rivera conflates 9/11 skeptics with Terrorists – March 7, 2008
911 Blogger
March 14, 2008
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xjgAUGb_yIg
Geraldo Rivera: “I think that this bomber isn’t Al Qaeda, isn’t anything like that… He’s more like those ‘9/11 was an inside job’ kind of guys… Protesting in a violent way, but in a violent way almost like the eco-terrorists… where they don’t intend to inflict casualties.”
On March 6, 2008, a US Armed Forces recruiting station was bombed by an unknown individual. It took Geraldo Rivera just over 24 hours to start planting a notion in the heads of millions of FOX News viewers that “9/11 was an inside job kind of guys” were likely responsible for the bombing.
This is a dangerous and false meme that Rivera is planting in the heads of millions of people. And as the Big Lebowski would say, “This agression will not stand… man!”
911blogger.com utterly rejects the use of violence to communicate anything. By anyone. That includes Geraldo Rivera. Rivera is infamous partly because he has built his notoriety on the violent incident which occurred on his television show in 1988.
A brawl broke out on the set between racists purposefully invited to the show, and some other guests, it doesn’t take a genius to figure out that the violence was expected. “A November 1988 cover of Newsweek carried a close-up of his bashed face next to a headline reading, “Trash TV: From the Lurid to the Loud, Anything Goes.”
FOX News says “We Love to Hear From Our Viewers!”
Let’s take them up on the offer. After all, you’re a viewer now… My suggestion is that we all ask for a retraction or apology for this outrageous comment, and Geraldo should have on the air David Ray Griffin to talk about his great new book, 9/11 Contradictions.

Law Enforcement: Letters Unrelated To Times Square Blast
CBS
March 7, 2008
Letters and photos of a Times Square military recruiting station received by members of Congress in recent days were unrelated to an explosion at the Manhattan facility Thursday, law enforcement officials say.
The letters — which were sent to eight House Democrats who represent the New York City area and possibly to other members as well — reportedly included the words “We did it,” a photo of someone standing in front of the recruiting station and what one source called a “20-page rambling rant.”
Capitol Police alerted congressional offices about the missives Thursday night, asking that any members who received one to “immediately contact the USCP Command Center” as part of an “ongoing criminal investigation.”
But as the Associated Press is now reporting, law enforcement officials believe the person who sent the letters to members of Congress is an anti-war activist from the Los Angeles area who seems to have had no connection to the explosion at the military recruiting facility.
“It was just an incredibly unbelievable coincidence,” one law enforcement official tells the AP.
Capitol Police said Thursday that, while the letters sent to members of Congress contained “a reference to the military recruiting office in New York City,” they did not make “any threat to the congressional community or members of Congress.”
According to the AP, law enforcement officials do not intend to file charges against the man who sent the letters.
