Fake Afghan Poll Sites Favored Karzai

Fake Afghan Poll Sites Favored Karzai, Officials Assert

NY Times
September 6, 2009

Afghans loyal to President Hamid Karzai set up hundreds of fictitious polling sites where no one voted but where hundreds of thousands of ballots were still recorded toward the president’s re-election, according to senior Western and Afghan officials here.

The fake sites, as many as 800, existed only on paper, said a senior Western diplomat in Afghanistan, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the political delicacy of the vote. Local workers reported that hundreds, and in some cases thousands, of votes for Mr. Karzai in the election last month came from each of those places. That pattern was confirmed by another Western official based in Afghanistan.

“We think that about 15 percent of the polling sites never opened on Election Day,” the senior Western diplomat said. “But they still managed to report thousands of ballots for Karzai.”

Besides creating the fake sites, Mr. Karzai’s supporters also took over approximately 800 legitimate polling centers and used them to fraudulently report tens of thousands of additional ballots for Mr. Karzai, the officials said.

The result, the officials said, is that in some provinces, the pro-Karzai ballots may exceed the people who actually voted by a factor of 10. “We are talking about orders of magnitude,” the senior Western diplomat said.

The widening accounts of fraud pose a stark problem for the Obama administration, which has 68,000 American troops deployed here to help reverse gains by Taliban insurgents. American officials hoped that the election would help turn Afghans away from the Taliban by giving them a greater voice in government. Instead, the Obama administration now faces the prospect of having to defend an Afghan administration for the next five years that is widely seen as illegitimate.

“This was fraud en masse,” the Western diplomat said.

Most of the fraud perpetrated on behalf of Mr. Karzai, officials said, took place in the Pashtun-dominated areas of the east and south where officials said that turnout on Aug. 20 was exceptionally low. That included Mr. Karzai’s home province, Kandahar, where preliminary results indicate that more than 350,000 ballots have been turned in to be counted. But Western officials estimated that only about 25,000 people actually voted there.

Waheed Omar, the main spokesman for Mr. Karzai’s campaign, acknowledged Sunday that there had been cases of fraud committed by different candidates. But he accused the president’s opponents of trying to score political points by making splashy accusations in the news media. “There have been cases — we have reported numerous cases — and our view is the only place where discussion can be held is in the Election Complaints Commission,” he said.

American officials have mostly kept a public silence about the fraud allegations. A senior American official said Sunday that they were looking into the allegations behind the scenes. “An absence of public statements does not mean an absence of concern and engagement on these issues,” the official said.

But a different Western official in Kabul said that there were divisions among the international community and Afghan political circles over how to proceed. This official said he believed the next four or five days would decide whether the entire electoral process would stand or fall. “This is crunch time,” he said.

Adding to the drumbeat, on Sunday the deputy director of the Afghan Independent Election Commission said that the group was disqualifying all the ballots cast in 447 polling sites because of fraud. The deputy director, Daoud Ali Najafi, said it was not clear how many votes had been affected, or what percentage they represented of the total. He gave no details of what fraud had been discovered.

With about three-quarters of the ballots counted in the Aug. 20 election, Mr. Karzai leads with nearly 49 percent of the vote, compared with 32 percent for his main challenger, Abdullah Abdullah. If no candidate receives more than 50 percent, the election goes to a runoff.

Officials in Kabul say it will probably take months before the Election Complaints Commission, which is dominated by Westerners appointed by the United Nations, will be able to declare a winner. Such an interregnum with no clear leader in office could prove destabilizing for a country that is already beset by ethnic division and an increasingly violent insurgency.

One opposition candidate for president, Ashraf Ghani, the former finance minister, said that the scale of the fraud on Election Day had deeply damaged the political process that was being slowly built in Afghanistan.

“For five years Mr. Karzai was my president,” he said in an interview at his home in Kabul. “Now how many Afghans will consider him their president?”

Since ballots were cast last month, anecdotal evidence has emerged of widespread fraud across the Pashtun-dominated areas of southern and eastern Afghanistan, where Mr. Karzai has many allies. Many of the allegations come from Kandahar Province, where Mr. Karzai’s younger brother, Ahmed Wali Karzai, is the chairman of the provincial council and widely regarded as the most powerful man in the region. Last week, the governor of Shorabak District, which lies in Kandahar Province, claimed that Hamid Karzai’s allies shut down all the polling centers in the area and falsified 23,900 ballots for Mr. Karzai.

Two provincial council candidates in Kandahar, both close to the government, confirmed that widespread pro-Karzai fraud had occurred, in particular in places where poor security prevented observers and candidates’ representatives from watching.

“Now people will not trust the provincial council and the government system,” said Muhammad Ehsan, the deputy head of the provincial council, who was running for re-election. “Now people understand who has come to power and how.”

Hajji Abdul Majid, 75, the chief of the tribal elders council in Argestan District, in Kandahar Province, said that despite the fact that security forces opened the town’s polling place, no one voted, so any result from his district would be false.

“The people know that the government just took control of the district center for that day of the elections,” he said. “People are very frustrated. They don’t believe in the government.”

He added: “If Karzai is re-elected, people will leave the country or join the Taliban.”

Ron Paul Endorses Chuck Baldwin

Ron Paul Endorses Chuck Baldwin

Ron Paul
Campaign for Liberty
September 22, 2008

The press conference at the National Press Club had a precise purpose. It was to expose, to as many people as possible, the gross deception of our presidential election process. It is controlled by the powerful elite to make sure that neither candidate of the two major parties will challenge the status quo. There is no real choice between the two major parties and their nominees, only the rhetoric varies. The amazingly long campaign is designed to make sure the real issues are ignored. The quotes I used at the press conference from insider Carroll Quigley and the League of Women voters strongly support this contention.

Calling together candidates from the liberal, conservative, libertarian and progressive constituencies, who are all opposed to this rigged process, was designed to alert the American people to the uselessness of continuing to support a process that a claims that one’s only choice is to choose the lesser of two evils and reject a principle vote that might challenge the status quo as a wasted vote.

In both political education and organization, coalitions are worthwhile and necessary to have an impact. “Talking to the choir” alone achieves little. I have always approached political and economic education with a “missionary” zeal by inviting any group in on issues we agree upon.

This opens the door to legitimate discourse with the hope of winning new converts to the cause of liberty. This strategy led to the press conference with the four candidates agreeing to the four principles we believe are crucial in challenging the political system that has evolved over many years in this country.

This unique press conference, despite the surprising, late complication from the Libertarian Party Presidential Candidate, hopefully will prove to be historically significant.

This does not mean that I expect to get Ralph Nader or Cynthia McKinney to become libertarians, nor do they expect me to change my mind on the issues on which we disagree. In the meantime, why can’t we be friends, respectful of each other, and fight the corrupt process from which we suffer, and at the same time champion the four issues that we all agree upon which the two major candidates won’t address?

Many practical benefits can come from this unique alliance. Our cause is liberty —freedom is popular and is the banner that brings people together. Since authoritarianism divides, we always have the edge in an intellectual fight. Once it’s realized that the humanitarian goals of peace and prosperity are best achieved with our views, I’m convinced we win by working with others. Those who don’t want to collaborate are insecure with their own beliefs.

In the past two years at the many rallies where I talked and shook hands with literally thousands of people, I frequently asked them what brought them to our campaign. There were many answers: the Constitution, my consistency, views on the Federal Reserve, the war, and civil liberties. The crowds were overwhelmingly made up of young people.

Oftentimes I welcomed the diverse groups that came, mentioning that the crowd was made up of Republicans, Democrats, Independents, Liberals and Progressives with each group applauding. Even jokingly, I recognized the “anarchists” and that, too, was met with some applause. In conversations, many admitted to having been Democrats and members of the Green Party and supporters of Ralph Nader, yet they came to agree with us on all the issues once the entire philosophy was understood. That’s progress.

Principled people are not shy in participating with others and will defend their beliefs on their merits. Liberals and progressives are willing to align themselves with us on the key issues of peace, civil liberties, debt and the Federal Reserve. That’s exciting and very encouraging, and it means we are making progress. The big challenge, however, is taking on the establishment, and the process that is so well entrenched. But we can’t beat the entrenched elite without the alliance of all those who have been disenfranchised.

Ironically the most difficult group to recruit has been the evangelicals who supported McCain and his pro-war positions. They have been convinced that they are obligated to initiate preventive war in the Middle East for theological reasons. Fortunately, this is a minority of the Christian community, but our doors remain open to all despite this type of challenge. The point is, new devotees to the freedom philosophy are more likely to come from the left than from those conservatives who have been convinced that God has instructed us to militarize the Middle East.

Although we were on the receiving end of ridicule in the reporting of the press conference, I personally was quite satisfied with the results. True revolutions are not won in a week, a month, or even a year. They take time. But we are making progress, and the momentum remains and is picking up. The Campaign for Liberty is alive and well, and its growth and influence will continue. Obviously the press conference could have been even more successful without the last-minute change of heart by the Libertarian Party candidate by not participating. He stated that his support for the four points remains firm. His real reason for not coming, nor letting me know until forty minutes before the press conference started, is unknown to me. To say the least, I was shocked and disappointed.

Yet in the long run, this last-minute change in plans will prove to be of little importance. I’m convinced that problems like this always seem bigger at the moment, yet things usually work out in the end. Recovering from the mistakes and shortcomings of all that we do in this effort is not difficult if the message is right and our efforts are determined. And I’m convinced they are. That’s what will determine our long-term success, not the shortcomings of any one person.

The Libertarian Party Candidate admonished me for “remaining neutral” in the presidential race and not stating whom I will vote for in November. It’s true; I have done exactly that due to my respect and friendship and support from both the Constitution and Libertarian Party members. I remain a lifetime member of the Libertarian Party and I’m a ten-term Republican Congressman. It is not against the law to participate in more then one political party. Chuck Baldwin has been a friend and was an active supporter in the presidential campaign.

I continue to wish the Libertarian and Constitution Parties well. The more votes they get, the better. I have attended Libertarian Party conventions frequently over the years.

In some states, one can be on the ballots of two parties, as they can in New York. This is good and attacks the monopoly control of politics by Republicans and Democrats. We need more states to permit this option. This will be a good project for the Campaign for Liberty, along with the alliance we are building to change the process.

I’ve thought about the unsolicited advice from the Libertarian Party candidate, and he has convinced me to reject my neutral stance in the November election. I’m supporting Chuck Baldwin, the Constitution Party candidate.

Attorneys assert claim against Karl Rove for theft of 2004 Election

Attorneys assert claim against Karl Rove for theft of 2004 Election

Ohio News Bureau
July 17, 2008

COLUMBUS, OHIO: Plaintiff attorneys for a lawsuit filed in 2006 that sought voting records to prove whether their suspicion that Republicans conspired to suppress the votes of two active Democratic demographics that helped President Bush win the state and a second term in the White House, changed the focus of their lawsuit Thursday, saying they will now focus on learning more about the roles played by Karl Rove, Bush’s political architect and Mike Connell, a long-time Bush family confidant and Information technology guru – now working for Sen. John McCain – who as an information technology tradesman, built various computer systems that produced election irregularities that favored Republicans and whose work, if not ferreted out and stopped now, may do the same this year for McCain as it did for Bush against Kerry four years ago.

Ohio became famous, or infamous depending on your political persuasion, for catapulting George W. Bush into a second term as the nation’s president. In 2004 the state was run by Republicans, who held all statewide offices and controlled both houses of the legislature. The Secretary of State at the time was Kenneth J. Blackwell, an African American from Cincinnati who previously had served as State Treasurer and was in his second term as the state’s chief elections officer. At the time, Blackwell was also the co-chairman of the Bush-Cheney re-election committee. When the narrow election was over, Bush won Ohio from his Democratic rival, Massachusetts’ Sen. John Kerry, by the slim margin of about 118, 000 plus votes, or few than a dozen votes for each of Ohio’s 11,000 polling locations.

Reports of Vote Fraud in Texas and Ohio

Report On Vote Stealing In Texas

KPRC
March 5, 2008

Voters reported being turned away from the polls, prompting a criminal investigation into vote stealing, Local 2 Investigates reported Tuesday.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office confirmed it is contacting the victims, all centered around Precinct 219 in southeast Houston.

“I feel really hurt,” said Garland Boone, a voter in the Third Ward neighborhood off Yellowstone, where the scam was reported.

He said his neighbors who are victims “don’t have a chance to express their vote. Everybody needs to express their own vote.”

Precinct Judge Edna Russell told Local 2 Investigates that some senior citizen voters had to be turned away because absentee ballots had already been mailed in using their names.

“Somebody had already voted for me,” said Georgia Ireland.

She and the other victims reported that people were going door-to-door, offering help to seniors with filing voter registration forms.

Some victims signed the paperwork, while others did not, but the scammers then used the information to mail absentee ballots in their names, meaning their votes were stolen from them.

“I thought that was horrible,” Ireland said. “I really wanted to know how they could do that (because) I never signed nothing. Not a thing.”

Witnesses inside the voting location at Mount Olive Baptist Church said some of the victims cried and others yelled, “This is how they’re going to steal the election from (Presidential candidate Barrack) Obama.”

The precinct judge said some of the victims have had their votes stolen in the past, which indicates that once the scammers have someone’s personal information, they could become victims again and again in the future.

“I would be furious,” said another voter, Carolyn Stubblefield. “What’s the world coming to where you can’t even go vote anymore? Somebody would even steal your right to vote.”

Less than 10 victims were reported to the district attorney’s office, where investigators began contacting those voters to see if they can identify who is responsible.

Reports Of Voting Irregularities In Ohio

Columbus Dispatch
March 4, 2008

The campaigns of Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are complaining about problems at the polls in Ohio.

Clinton’s camp said it has received “troubling reports of irregularities and inappropriate behavior by Sen. Obama’s campaign across the state,” including a certified Obama poll watcher being removed by the presiding judge in an Akron precinct for “aggressively challenging voters.”

There also were reports in Cincinnati of Obama poll watchers being reprimanded after wearing campaign paraphernalia into polling places, a violation of election law, Clinton state director Robby Mook said in a news release.

But the Obama campaign disputed the Clinton camp’s characterization of what happened in Akron, saying that after a poll worker was informed of the rules for observers, the Obama volunteer was allowed to perform his duties.

MSNBC also quoted Brian Williams, director of the Summit County Board of Elections, as calling the Clinton campaign’s depiction of what happened “an overstatement,” saying he “would not characterize that as aggressively challenging voters.”

Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner’s office also issued an e-mail this morning to all election officials that a letter signed by Obama’s campaign director in Ohio authorizing the letter-bearer to serve as a legal poll monitor is not sufficient.

To be allowed access to a polling location, an observer must be duly appointed before the election as an official observer and have a certificate.

Brunner’s office said in its e-mail that the letter being presented by Obama supporters to election officials “is not legally sufficient on its own to allow someone to gain access to polling places.”

Obama’s campaign said the letter is only being used as identification for people monitoring polling locations from the outside. Brunner’s office said there were no widespread reports of problems with Obama observers inside the polls.

Obama’s camp, meanwhile, complained that some voters asking for Democratic ballots are being given Republican or issues-only ballots instead. In addition, voter identification requirements were being mishandled in some areas, causing some voters to be turned away, they said.

Without actually accusing the Clinton campaign of what could be poll-worker error, Obama state director Paul Tewes said in a statement, “We understand that the Clinton campaign may want to depress turnout because Barack Obama has closed a 20-point gap over the course of this month as voters across the state got to know him.

“We will continue to monitor the polls to ensure that all Ohioans who choose to participate in today’s election are able to do so regardless of who they choose to vote for,” Tewes said.

Putin’s Successor Wins Amid Election Irregularities

Putin’s Successor Wins Amid Election Irregularities

Swiss Info
March 2, 2008

As Dmitry Medvedev headed for victory in the Russian presidential election on Sunday, election observers noted a certain number of irregularities.

Swiss parliamentarian Andreas Gross, head of the Council of Europe’s monitoring mission, is due to present his report on Monday, and will not comment until then. He spent election day listening to people in the field and monitoring the voting.

However, one monitor told Reuters news agency that voters’ ballots had been visible to election officials in three polling stations he had visited.

An independent Russian organisation, Golos, told the agency it had seen evidence of fraud all over the country.

First exit polls on Sunday evening gave Medvedev, currently Russia’s first deputy prime minister, and the candidate favoured by outgoing president, Vladimir Putin, nearly 70 per cent of the vote.

Pre-election concern

The run-up to the election had already aroused concern.

Following a two-day pre-electoral trip to Moscow in February, the Council of Europe mission highlighted the limited number of candidates.

In addition to Medvedev, three other men were in the running to take over from Putin, who is stepping down at the end of two four-year terms. But Medvedev was always widely expected to win.

“It is much too difficult to be a candidate in Russia and the obstacles are too high. This was done on purpose by legislative reforms which limit access to political power,” Gross told swissinfo ahead of his current trip to Russia.

Coverage of Medvedev has also dominated prime time television – the key to reaching the population, added Gross.

The 25-member observer mission from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe has been in Russia since Wednesday.

It is the only group of European election monitors in the country. The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) decided against sending its observers last month, citing too many restrictions by Moscow. Russia has called the move “unacceptable”.

Gross said that the OSCE’s work normally formed the basis of his team’s short-term work.

“But in these elections the long term is so easy to understand that we will be able to fulfil our task even though the OSCE’s observers won’t be there,” he said.

Others will be present, explained Gross. “We are the only observers with a democratic standard because the other ones come from China or from former Soviet Union countries that are not so reliable when it comes to democracy,” he said

Gross, a member of the centre-left Social Democratic Party, has carried out 45 election observations in the past 12 years, including the Russian parliamentary poll last December, which was declared unfair by European monitors.

Foregone conclusion?

Polls suggested that there would not be much doubt about the winner.

“[One] showed that 80 per cent of the Russian people were ready to accept the man Putin chooses as his successor. This is quite extraordinary because the logic of a term limit is that you have to reshuffle the political power redistribution,” said Gross.

On the other hand, Gross told swissinfo, credit had to be given to Putin for not changing the Russian constitution to allow him a third term as president. This would have been possible because he has a constitutional majority in parliament.

Putin also did not choose a hardliner, but the more moderate and “civilised” Medvedev, Gross said.

“But on the other hand the fact that the majority of people is ready to choose who Putin proposes shows the real problem of the development of democratic mentality in a society,” warned the Swiss parliamentarian.

“This problem was increased by the legislation which prevented, for instance, the former Prime Minister [Mikhail Kasyanov] from being a candidate in order to be real competition for Putin’s choice and to give the people a choice,” added Gross.

Clintons to face fraud trial
Judge setting date, testimony to include ex-president, senator

Fbiiraqisbein_mn

While Hillary Clinton battles Barack Obama on the campaign trail, a judge in Los Angeles is quietly preparing to set a trial date in a $17 million fraud suit that aims to expose an alleged culture of widespread corruption by the Clintons and the Democratic Party.

At the conclusion of a hearing Thursday morning before California Superior Court Judge Aurelio N. Munoz, lawyers for Hollywood mogul Peter F. Paul will begin seeking sworn testimony from all three Clintons – Bill, Hillary and Chelsea – along with top Democratic Party leaders and A-list celebrities, including Barbra Streisand, John Travolta, Brad Pitt and Cher.

Paul’s team hopes for a trial in October. The Clinton’s longtime lawyer David Kendall, who will attend the hearing, has declined comment on the suit.

The Clintons have tried to dismiss the case, but the California Supreme Court, in 2004, upheld a lower-court decision to deny the motion.

Bill Clinton, according to the complaint, promised to promote Paul’s Internet entertainment company, Stan Lee Media, in exchange for stock, cash options and massive contributions to his wife’s 2000 Senate campaign. Paul contends he was directed by the Clintons and Democratic Party leaders to produce, pay for and then join them in lying about footing the bill for a Hollywood gala and fundraiser.

The Clintons’ legal counsel has denied the former president made any deal with Paul. But Paul attorney Colette Wilson told WND there are witnesses who say it was common knowledge at Stan Lee Media that Bill Clinton was preparing to be a rainmaker for the company after he left office.

Paul claims former Vice President Al Gore, former Democratic Party chairman Ed Rendell and Clinton presidential campaign chairman Terry McAuliffe also are among the people who can confirm Paul engaged in the deal.

Paul claims Rendell directed various illegal contributions to the DNC and Hillary Clinton’s campaign and failed to report to the Federal Election Commission more than $100,000 given for a Hollywood event for Gore’s campaign and the Democratic National Committee in 2000. McAuliffe, Paul says, counseled him in two separate meetings to become a major donor to Hillary Clinton to pave the way to hire her husband. Paul asserts top Clinton adviser Harold Ickes also directed him to give money to the Senate campaign but hid that fact in “perjured testimony” during the trial of campaign finance director David Rosen.

Rosen was acquitted in 2005 for filing false campaign reports that later were charged by the FEC to treasurer Andrew Grossman, who accepted responsibility in a conciliation agreement that fined the campaign 35,000. Paul points out the Rosen trial established his contention that he personally gave more than $1.2 million to Clinton’s campaign and that his contributions intentionally were hidden from the public and the Federal Election Commission.

Rosen, accused of concealing Paul’s in-kind contribution of more than $1 million, was acquitted, but Paul contends the Clinton staffer was a scapegoat. Paul points out chief Clinton spokesman Howard Wolfson told the Washington Post he was aware of the donation, yet he never was called as a witness in the Rosen trial.

Paul contends his case will expose “the institutional culture of corruption embraced by the Clinton leadership of the Democratic Party,” which seeks to attain “unaccountable power for the Clintons at the expense of the rule of law and respect for the constitutional processes of government.”

The complaint asserts Clinton has filed four false reports to the FEC of Paul’s donations in an attempt to distance herself from him after a Washington Post story days after the August 2000 fundraiser reported his past felony convictions. Clinton then returned a check for $2,000, insisting it was the only money she had taken from Paul. But one month later, she demanded another $100,000, to be hidden in a state committee using untraceable securities.

“Why wouldn’t that cause someone to inquire?” Paul asked. “Especially since it was days after she said she wouldn’t take any more money from me.”

Paul has the support of a new grass-roots political action group that is helping garner the assistance of one of the nation’s top lawyers

Republican activist Rod Martin says his group plans to highlight Paul’s case as it launches an organization based on the business model of the left-wing MoveOn.org but rooted in the principles and political philosophy of former President Reagan.

Martin’s group also is assisting in Paul’s complaint to the FEC asserting that unless the agency sets aside the conciliation agreement and rescinds immunity granted the senator, it will “have aided and abetted in the commission” of a felony.

Paul’s case is the subject of a video documentary largely comprised of intimate “home movies” of Hillary Clinton and her Hollywood supporters captured by Paul during the period.

Tape caught Pakistani official saying vote will be rigged

A prominent U.S.-based human rights group Friday released what it said was a recording of Pakistan’s attorney general acknowledging that next week’s national elections would be “massively” rigged.

Human Rights Watch said a journalist made the recording during a telephone interview with Attorney General Malik Qayyum when Qayyum took a second call without disconnecting the first, allowing his end of the second conversation to be overheard and recorded.

In the recording, Qayyum, Pakistan’s top legal officer, can be heard advising the caller to accept a ticket he is being offered by an unidentified political party for a seat, Human Rights Watch said.

“They will massively rig to get their own people to win,” Qayyum said, according to a transcript released by Human Rights Watch. “If you get a ticket from these guys, take it.”

The potentially incendiary recording was made the day that elections were announced for Jan. 8, according to Human Rights Watch, which said the Urdu-language recording could be heard on its Web site, www.hrw.org. The polls for the national assembly and four provincial legislatures were postponed until this Monday after large-scale violence ignited by the Dec. 27 assassination of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto.

The recording was certain to add to widespread fears that the polls will be rigged in favor of the Pakistan Muslim League-Q, the party that supports the authoritarian and hugely unpopular president, Pervez Musharraf, a retired army general who seized power in a 1999 coup.

On Thursday, Musharraf warned the opposition that it must accept the outcome of Monday’s voting, without resorting to massive street protests.

“Let there be no doubt that anyone will be allowed to resort to lawlessness in the garb of allegations about rigging in the elections,” Musharraf was quoted as telling a seminar of government officials in Islamabad by the state-run Associated Press of Pakistan. “Let this serve as a warning to all those who think they can disturb the peace of the country. They will not be allowed. Do not test the resolve of the government.”

“No agitation, anarchy or chaos can be acceptable,” he said. “I assure you that the elections will be fair, free, and transparent and peaceful.”

Fears that the polls will be fixed have been stoked by a series of public opinion surveys showing the Pakistan Peoples Party and other parties poised to capture enough seats to begin impeachment proceedings against Musharraf for controversial constitutional changes he imposed last year to extend his grip on power.

Musharraf’s standing, and that of the Pakistan Muslim League-Q, also has been hurt by skyrocketing prices, shortages of electricity, gas and wheat, a failure to contain the Islamic insurgency based in the tribal area bordering Afghanistan and Pakistan’s support for the Bush administration’s fight against al Qaida.

“There have been numerous allegations of irregularities, including arrests and harassment of opposition candidates and party members. There are also allegations that state resources, administration, and state machinery are being used to the advantage of candidates backed by President Pervez Musharraf,” Human Rights Watch said in a statement.

Human Rights Watch said it had tried repeatedly to contact Qayyum, a staunch supporter of Musharraf, but had been unable to reach him.

In Washington on Friday, State Department spokesman Sean McCormack said he was not familiar with the Human Rights Watch report. But he said the Bush administration has stressed to the Musharraf government that ” the Pakistani people should have a reasonable degree of assurance that their ballot will in fact be reflected in the results.”

“Look, you know, there have been in the past irregularities within the Pakistani electoral process,” McCormack said.

On Thursday, the widower of assassinated former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, Asif Ali Zadari, held a final campaign rally in the same dusty park where his wife gave her first political address in 1977.

Security was intense, reflecting a surge in suicide bombings that’s included attacks on opposition campaign rallies. Police sharpshooters scanned the crowds from rooftops and black-clad commandos stood among scores of security men deployed around the stage.

The stage itself was set far back from fences of steel scaffolding and barbed wire that restrained the flag- and banner-waving crowd of about 6,000. Zadari spoke from behind a podium made of bulletproof glass and steel.

Without mentioning Musharraf by name, Zardari, who assumed joint chairmanship of the party with his son after Bhutto’s slaying, said that it was time “to change our system.”

“Benazir was a martyr. She believed in you, in the brothers and sisters, and I also believe in you,” he proclaimed.

McCain: Sanctions, attacks await Iran

Press TV
February 8, 2008

Fbiiraqisbein_mn

Republican presidential hopeful John McCain says the US and its European allies will adopt unilateral sanctions against Iran.

He stated that if the UN is not prepared to impose stronger political and economic sanctions, the United States and its European partners will take such measures.

He also said that a military solution should remain on the table as a last resort and that Iran is playing ‘a game it cannot win’.

“I intend to make it unmistakably clear to Iran that we will not permit a government that espouses the destruction of … Israel . . .and pledges undying enmity to the United States to possess weapons to advance their malevolent ambitions,” Suddeutschen Zeitung quoted the senator as saying.

The recently published US National Intelligence Estimate (NIE) has confirmed that Iran is not developing nuclear arms.

Iran says under the Non-proliferation Treaty (NPT) it is entitled to enrich uranium for peaceful purposes and that its nuclear activities are aimed at civilian purposes.

Ron Paul doesn’t plan to drop out

‘Message’ candidate doesn’t plan to drop out

Star Telegram

Fbiiraqisbein_mn

Republican presidential hopeful Ron Paul speaks during the West Virginia Republican presidential convention Tuesday in Charleston, W.Va.

One month into the 2008 presidential primaries, Texan Ron Paul has outlasted a half-dozen other GOP hopefuls.

The 72-year-old doctor-turned-politician says he has no plans to quit no matter how everything shakes out today after the Super Tuesday votes are counted.

“There were 11 candidates, and now we’re down to four,” he told a Minnesota crowd this week. “We started low and we keep going.

“If I dropped out, my supporters wouldn’t be happy.”

That’s exactly right, said Jeremy Blosser, a 31-year-old Paul supporter from Arlington.

“We have no intention of going anywhere,” he said.

“Ron Paul has been fighting for our rights and for a constitutional government for over 30 years, and this campaign has spread those ideas to an entire generation. We see no reason to not keep going.

“We are Texans — we don’t run away when the chips are down and the stakes are high.”

Paul may have greater staying power on the campaign trail because his fundraising has been fairly healthy, pulling in more than $28 million since his campaign kicked off, new federal election records show.

He has come in third and fourth in several primaries and took second in Nevada’s primary last month.

To many, he is seen as a “message” candidate — trying to get the word out about his desire to end the war, bring home troops, reduce the size of government and get leaders to more literally follow the Constitution.

“His fundraising has been substantial, and he’s trying to get his message out,” said Bruce Buchanan, a government professor at the University of Texas at Austin who specializes in presidential politics.

“There will come a point when it’s truly down to two and he doesn’t have a percentage to make it into the debates anymore, and then he may fold his tent.

“I don’t think he will until he has to.”

Neither Paul nor spokesman Jesse Benton could be reached for comment Tuesday, as they were campaigning in Super Tuesday states.

But few expect him to go quietly into the night.

“He is certainly the un-cola of Republican candidates,” said Tom Marshall, a political science professor at the University of Texas at Arlington.

“Message candidates don’t drop out as easily or as quickly.”

Ron Paul 2nd In Montana
Ron Paul garnered 24.54% in Montana, 21.16% in North Dakota, and gained respectable percentages and delegates elsewhere.

Nolan Chart
February 6, 2008

While Paul supporters may be tempted to despair as they look over the results of Super Tuesday, there are some gems among the general rubble indicating that not all Americans are asleep in front of their TV sets.

Here are the Montana results:

  • Romney 38.34%
  • Paul 24.54%
  • McCain 21.96%
  • Huckabee 15.03%

Here are the North Dakota results:

  • Romney 35.47%
  • McCain 22.61%
  • Paul 21.16%
  • Huckabee 19.79%

Dr. Paul also achieved respectable percentages in Alaska and Minnesota with 16.41% and 15.25% respectively. In other states he has received or has the prospect of gaining delegates, if not high percentages.

Maybe the folks in some of these states aren’t big TV addicts? My guess would be that Dr. Paul’s results are probably inversely proportional to television addiction on a state by state basis. Anyone have viewership statistics by state?

Ron Paul is in this for the long haul, and as his supporters, we need to stand behind him and fight for our liberty!

Voting Problems Reported In Florida

Multiple Voting Machine Problems Reported In Florida
Media reports switching of machines, non functioning machines as “glitches”

Steve Watson
Infowars.net
January 29, 2008

Fbiiraqisbein_mn

Multiple problems with electronic voting machines have been reported in Florida today as people take to the polls in the latest presidential primary.

Eagle eyed members of the prisonplanet forum are scouring media reports and keeping a close watch on events in Florida in light of the ongoing saga with the New Hampshire primary and the recount fiasco.

Keep track of events at this live thread where members are posting the latest information.

So far multiple reports have indicated that voters are experiencing problems throughout the state, particularly with the electronic machines.

The Palm Beach Post reports:

At Kings Point in suburban Delray Beach, voters encountered delays after a poll worker mistakenly shut down the voting machines, Elections Supervisor Arthur Anderson told reporters.

“They were on and then someone mistakenly, accidentally turned them off,” Anderson said while visiting H.L. Johnson Elementary School in Royal Palm Beach. “Allegedly someone tripped over a line or something like that.”

The machines couldn’t be turned back on, so workers had to bring in replacement machines and program them. “It’s going to delay the process,” he said.

This will have resulted in lost votes and once again goes to show that the machines are unreliable and detrimental to the democratic voting process.

According to other reports, machines in some precincts were delivered late and so voting was delayed, causing some to abandon the lines.

Other problems with the machines have been reported by voters. The Sun Sentinal reports:

Rabbi Richard Yellin said he was first in line at the polling location at Congress Avenue and Woolbright Boulevard in Boynton Beach, but that did him little good when it came to casting his vote.

“There has been a major failure of the voting, at least at this precinct,” he said.

He said he tried five times to use the voting machine but it would not allow him to vote. About a dozen people were also at the precinct to vote, Yellin said. “None of the machines worked,” Yellin said.

Poll workers were attempting to obtain help from the main elections office, but were still struggling to activate the machines when Yellin said he had to leave to attend to his duties at the synagogue.

Another voter reported that she noticed that the poll worker in her precinct pushed the non-partisan button for her when assigning her card, even though she’s a registered Democrat. Nonpartisan voters cannot vote in the presidential primary. From The Palm Beach Post:

When Monzon pointed this out, she says the poll worker sought out help from a supervisor, who then called the supervisor of elections office.

Monzon says that after the supervisor got off the phone with the elections office, she told Monzon and the poll worker that this problem is happening around the county and that there is nothing that can be done about it.

Monzon says other voters present had the same problem. In one case, a wife was able to vote and but her husband was not because his ballot was changed to nonpartisan.

In Broward County, which was subject to recounts and hanging chads in 2000, some machines also malfunctioned or did not function whatsoever, as reported by NBC:

In Broward County Fla., minor delays were reported this morning at a half dozen polling locations. Voters who provide a driver’s license for identification have their license run through a machine that reads the magnetic stripe on the back. (The machine is called an EVID). At least six of those EVID machines at different polling locations did not work this morning.

Today’s primary will be the last time for at least 4 years that residents will use the machines as they have been judged to be too unreliable and detrimental to voter confidence.

Harris Calls For Resignations In New Hampshire Recount Fiasco

Harris Calls For Resignations In New Hampshire Recount Fiasco
Vote fraud expert convinced chain of custody is corrupt, says “criminal enterprise” is at work

Paul Joseph Watson
Prison Planet
January 29, 2008

Fresh from her confrontations in New Hampshire during which public officials were grilled about slapdash chain of custody and ballot box tampering issues, Bev Harris told the Alex Jones Show that a “criminal enterprise” is running the primary recount and has called for Secretary of State William Gardner to resign and his assistant to be fired.

Harris was fundamental in the vetting and production of the HBO special Hacking Democracy, and has contributed towards bringing charges against vote fraudsters who cheated in Ohio in 2004.

Harris traveled to New Hampshire personally to discover for herself the disgraceful lapses in chain of custody for the memory cards and ballot boxes used in the recent primary.

Harris is featured in the video below asking public officials about slits in ballot boxes as they bizarrely deny that the slits are big enough to allow tampering, amongst a myriad of other disturbing questions about chain of custody. Follow-up questions are frowned upon and one official calls security to have Harris removed.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=hHL_YMBolRs

Following Republican candidate Albert Howard’s attempts to oversee the recount, Harris said “I knew that somebody needed to get to New Hampshire and protect or find out what they’re doing with chain of custody of the ballots….New Hampshire has the memory cards for 81 per cent of its votes counted by this one company – we found there was a convicted felon involved in that….that’s why I wanted to see what the chain of custody was”.

After hooking up with other vote fraud experts, Harris confronted public officials and asked pointed questions about chain of custody.

“The problem was we were either not getting answers or we were getting bizarre answers,” said Harris.

New Hampshire Secretary of State William Gardner was questioned on the whereabouts of the memory cards that hold electronic records of the votes.

“She kept asking him and ultimately he had to admit he didn’t know where they were, and this is days after the election,” said Harris.

One of the observers followed the ballots back to the vault where they were being stored overnight and noticed slits in the ballot boxes that had not been counted, a complete violation of federal election laws.

“I then came in the next day and asked the assistant Secretary of State David Scanlan – what about that slit in the end of the box?” said Harris, after which Scanlan attempted to dismiss the concern by claiming the slits weren’t big enough to allow tampering (an OJ tries on the glove moment, according to Harris).

One of the observers then proceeded to shame Scanlan by easily sticking her whole hand into the ballot box.

Officials then claimed that a special tape was in place to seal the box, bt as Harris proves in the video, the tape can easily be peeled off and re-applied.

“It’s a post-it note,” said Harris, “You can rip it on and off, on and off.”

Harris then discovered that the ballot boxes were not being transfered from state to state by police as should be the case, but by “Butch and Hoppy,” two truck drivers who raced around the state at high speed endangering people and and employing evasive manoevers to escape from observers who were following them.

“We caught them meeting up with a green jeep in the middle of nowhere half way through their route and we walk up to them and they drive off in a different direction,” said Harris.

“I wanted to see what the ballots looked like when Butch and Hoppy take them off the truck, well sure enough they didn’t have seals on them and some of them weren’t even closed – they had the box top open with big gashes and tears in them,” said Harris, who also revealed how officials left ballots in their offices and did not store them in secure vaults.

“Every way that it could break down it seemed to have broken down,” said Harris, “Even to the extent of just not following procedures”.

“How can you say that you can open someone’s ballot box without them present?” asked Harris.

Based on her experiences with the sham nature of the process, Harris called for the resignation of the Secretary of State Gardener and his assistant David Scanlan.

“I think assistant Secretary of State David Scanlan, who is actually their operations guy, should be dismissed from his position and the Secretary of State should resign, and they need to refund the money for both candidates and recount all those ballots in public,” said Harris.

“What they’re doing here is a criminal enterprise,” she added, “It has all the earmarks of it.”

SC voting machines not set to zero before voting started

SC voting machines not set to zero before voting started

Presscue
January 20, 2008

The voting machines in Horry County, South Carolina were not reset to zero before the first voters came to cast their ballots, the state’s Election Commission admitted today. The Commission stated that the technicians perform a “clear and test” procedure on all machines prior to the machines accepting votes, but in this case, it was not carried out before people arrived at the precincts to vote.
“This resets the test votes recorded on the machine to zero,” a press release by the Commission read. “Without performing this measure, the voting system will not allow machines to be opened for voting on election day.”

But the Commission blamed the delay on human error, even though Election Systems & Software voting machines used in South Carolina were decertified by the California Secretary of State last year, after the company refused to provide information necessary to review the voting systems, as required by state law.

“Some voters cast paper ballots today in 15-20 precincts because voting machines were not ready to accept votes,” the Commission stated. “This issue was due to a human error in preparing the machines for the primary.

The 2008 Primary season has been wracked by allegations of vote fraud stemming from the use of unreliable and easily hackable voting machines belonging to Diebold and ES&S and other vendors.

New Hampshire was forced to carry out a state-wide manual recount after discrepancies emerged between hand counted and machine counted votes.

Huge Diebold Disparities Uncovered In New Hampshire Recount

Huge Diebold Disparities Uncovered In New Hampshire Recount
Memory cards missing as attorney voices concerns about transparency

Paul Joseph Watson
Prison Planet
January 18, 2008

Huge disparities between votes cast on Diebold electronic voting machines and actual hand counted tallies are emerging during the New Hampshire recount, with Hillary Clinton gaining the most from over a hundred unaccounted for votes in one Manchester Ward.

The recount in Manchester’s Ward 5 revealed a disparity whereby establishment candidates received over a hundred ‘black hole’ votes between them that could not be tallied during the hand count.

  Diebold Result Hand Count
CLINTON 683
619
EDWARDS 255 217
OBAMA 404 365

At the moment there is no indication of where these extra votes came from, but the figures again cast the accuracy of Diebold voting machines into severe doubt and provide further evidence of the need for a return to hand counted paper ballots only in all federal elections.

Brad Friedman at The Brad Blog continues to provide great coverage of the recount, unlike New Hampshire’s foremost news outlet WMUR, whose “only source seems to be whatever (New Hampshire Secretary of State) Gardner tells them,” according to Friedman.

In addition, 550 ballots in Stratham were not read by the Diebold machines at all and were rejected as blank ballots.

Voting Rights attorney John Bonifaz also told Friedman of his deep concerns about the transparency of both the initial election as well as the recount.

“I’m very concerned that this is not a fully transparent process that is happening there,” he said.

Diebold memory cards used in New Hampshire, which have been proven to be vulnerable to hacking and could easily be used to steal an election, are “missing” according to state officials.

Bonifaz, “Says he was told by Secretary of State William Gardner that his office doesn’t get involved in tracking what happens to those memory cards. Some have reportedly been returned to LHS, and may have had their memory erased already,” reports Friedman.

“When you have a private company counting 80% of the votes, and you later learn that the memory cards are unaccounted for, you have a serious question about the transparency and accountability in that process,” Bonifaz said.

Federal law mandates that all materials from elections be preserved for 22 months thereafter, so if the memory cards have been wiped then LHS Associates, who it was revealed last week had hired a narcotics trafficker to a high-level executive position, would be facing criminal charges.

In another shocking development, vote fraud expert Bev Harris witnessed first hand that a majority of ballot boxes had 8 inch slits in their side. Election Defense Alliance’s Sally Castleman followed the boxes back to the ballot vault and also noticed the cuts. Read Bev’s report here.

New Hampshire ballot boxes found slit

Bev Harris
Black Box Voting
January 18, 2008

No worries, say New Hampshire officials when cuts up to eight inches long are spotted in newly delivered ballot boxes. “The only seal that counts is the one on top.” Except the seal on top can be peeled off without leaving a trace, then reaffixed.

Black Box Voting has been doing a chain of custody exam for the New Hampshire Primary’s recount. On Wednesday night, Election Defense Alliance’s Sally Castleman mentioned a troubling observation: After following the ballots back to the ballot vault following Wednesday’s recount, she had the opportunity to enter the ballot vault, and noticed what looked like cuts, or slits, in the side of many ballot boxes. New Hampshire officials assured us that these cuts, which slice through the tape, seals and box itself do not permit access to the uncounted ballots, pointing to a label on the boxtop which they call a seal. But the “seal” can be removed, like a Post-it, and reaffixed. So it’s not a seal all! We wanted to know if the ballot boxes were slit while in the vault, in the transport van, or came from the towns with slits in them.
I confirmed this morning that many if not most of the boxes scheduled to be counted today had slits in them. I went out when a vanload of ballots arrived, and saw that they were slit at the time they arrived by van. Susan Pynchon and I drove to two nearby towns and watched as they handed over their ballot boxes to “Butch and Hoppy”, the two men who drive around in the state in a van picking the ballots up. We observed as they loaded boxes of ballots into the van with no slits at all in them. We videotaped each of these up close. They arrived at the destination without slits. The label on the top was affixed, but in some cases was crumpled, or also damaged.Of course, the label affixed to the top can be removed and reattached without telltale signs. No vault tonightA significant departure from the normal chain of custody path occurred tonight. They decided not to use the vault to store the ballots.

Ron Paul Beats Fred and Rudy in Michigan

Ron Paul Beats Fred and Rudy in Michigan
Paul’s 4th Place Finish is a sign to the lesser candidates to make a move or get out.

Nolan Chart
January 16, 2008

Watching the Michigan returns come in on CNN and Fox News, it was clear that Ron Paul wasn’t going to get more than about 7% and finish in fourth placed after Romney, McCain, and Huckabee. For a candidate that wasn’t worthy to get an invitation to the Fox News debate before the New Hampshire primary, he finished ahead of two other candidates who did.

In a previous article, I mentioned that there is a Ron Paul Mendoza Line, where a candidate must at least beat Ron Paul, or should consider getting out. As of tonight, Rudy Giuliani, Fred Thompson, and Duncan Hunter have all fallen below that line. Unlike Paul, with his fanatical grassroots supporters, these candidates do not have backers who will raise millions of dollars in a single day to keep a second-place or worse finish going. Even Mike Huckabee ought to be bleeding at the edges of his campaign coffers by now. We’ll know at the end of the month when the FEC reports come out. Paul and Romney are the only ones with the cash to keep going beyond Feb 5–even if they don’t win another state by then.

Ron Paul Against New Hampshire Recount

Official Statement from Ron Paul On New Hampshire Recount

Ron Paul
Prison Planet
January 13, 2008

Fbiiraqisbein_mn

After a careful investigation, I have decided against seeking a recount in New Hampshire. I am confident that not asking for a recount is the right decision.

I carefully considered the arguments for and against a recount before instructing my campaign staff not to pursue it. Without a firm belief that vote fraud had taken place, and without the possibility that a recount would have increased the chances for success of our campaign, a recount would have diverted campaign resources, time, and energy away from crucial battles elsewhere.

We have taken concerns about vote fraud seriously. In Iowa, campaign volunteers carefully monitored the caucuses. Campaign staff placed Paul supporters in every precinct to watch and verify the voting and count. We had supporters phone in results from their precincts to a campaign hotline while others ensured that those numbers were reflected on the official display board at the Polk County Convention Center. The numbers our caucus watchers reported agreed with the official tally, and both results also aligned with the campaign’s internal polling. In relatively pro-Paul counties, our sampling pegged support at 11.5%. This is consistent with an overall 10% finish for the entire state.

In New Hampshire, while I would have hoped for a better result than eight percent, I am convinced that vote fraud played no role in this result. Rumors of vote fraud were investigated, and in the end they proved to be the result of errors in early media reports that were not reflected in the official numbers. In one notable case, when a campaign staff member contacted an individual who had on the evening of January 8 claimed that his vote had not been counted, the person said that he had made a mistake and that the next morning the error in reporting on a newspaper website had been corrected both in the media and — most importantly — in the official tally.

Many have expressed concerns that those ballots counted by machine yielded a 2% lower total than those counted by hand. However, machine counted vote totals were more than 2% lower for both John McCain and Mike Huckabee. Hand counted votes were more likely to be cast in rural areas. Results almost always vary between urban and rural areas.

My campaign staff and I have analyzed the numbers in New Hampshire and I have reached the conclusion that it was the high turnout — not vote fraud or counting errors — that left us with eight percent of the vote. Our total vote count of over 18,000 votes was well within what we projected given the efforts of our extensive statewide get-out-the-vote program, giving me no reason to believe that vote fraud played any role in the results of the Granite State’s primary.

In both Iowa and New Hampshire there is much to be proud of. Taking both states together, I am honored that over 30,000 people cast their vote for me — more than either Rudy Giuliani or Fred Thompson. Unlike many other candidates’ efforts, our campaign for freedom is growing and our message is spreading.

Now is the time to redouble our efforts. Our resources must be spent on the upcoming primaries and caucuses, and on ensuring that, with your help, we organize every state yet to vote with our Precinct Leaders program.

We can’t win primaries and caucuses that have already happened — but we can win those yet to come. To become the Republican presidential nominee, a candidate must have 1,191 delegates. Iowa, Wyoming and New Hampshire determined only 32 delegates, so we have much opportunity remaining.

Today, I ask you to join me in focusing on the battles ahead as we continue our fight for liberty and our Constitution.

Sincerely,

Ron Paul

Kucinich Backs New Hampshire Recount

Kucinich Backs New Hampshire Recount
Vote fraud expert Bev Harris warns he could be walking into a trap

Paul Joseph Watson
Prison Planet
January 11, 2008

Citing “serious and credible reports, allegations and rumors” about the integrity of Tuesday’s results, Congressman Dennis Kucinich is backing a full recount of ballots for the Democratic contest in New Hampshire, meaning that both party’s primaries may now both be cast into doubt. However, vote fraud expert Bev Harris has warned that it could all be a trap to validate Diebold electronic voting machines.

As we reported yesterday, New Hampshire Republican candidate Albert Howard is prepared to put his name behind a primary recount in order to ascertain if the example of “human error” in the town of Sutton, where Ron Paul was originally given zero votes, was an isolated case or if wider vote fraud took place.

Kucinich’s motivation for demanding a recount is the highly suspicious way in which Hillary Clinton reversed a 13 point pre-polling deficit to defeat Barack Obama, aided by a 7% swing thanks to the use of Diebold electronic voting machines.

“Kucinich alluded to online reports alleging disparities around the state between hand-counted ballots, which tended to favor Sen. Barack Obama, and machine-counted ones that tended to favor Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton. He also noted the difference between pre-election polls, which indicated Obama would win, and Clinton’s triumph by a 39 percent to 37 percent margin,” reports the Associated Press.

No doubt the Congressman is referring to this website, the Brad Blog and others who led the charge in exposing probable vote fraud in the hours after the primary.

Though Kucinich has cautioned that he doesn’t expect the recount to produce significantly different results, vote fraud expert Bev Harris warns that unless chain of custody issues are addressed before a recount, the recount itself is worthless because it will be overseen by the same people who committed vote fraud in the first place if indeed there was any chicanery.

In addition, should the recount produce exactly the same results it will validate Diebold electronic voting machines despite the fact that they have been proven to be wide open to fraud.

“A candidate asking for a recount may well be a tool used to ‘prove’ everything was okay and then that candidate will be further discredited,” reports Harris.

“We need citizen control and oversight. This is not going to come from the recount. If the election was rigged…don’t you think the riggers would have a backup Plan B for a rigged recount, knowing how easy it is to get a recount in NH?,” she concludes.

Ken Hajjar, Director of Diebold’s Exclusive Sales & Service Provider in New England Pled Guilty to Criminal Charges in 90’s

Does the Secretary of State of New Hampshire have any idea that a key executive in the private firm that programs and “counts” 80% of the state’s ballots on hackable, error-prone Diebold voting machines is a convicted narcotics trafficker?

In 1990, Ken Hajjar, the Director of Sales and Marketing for LHS Associates, and childhood friend of company owner John Silvestro, was arrested and pled guilty to charges which earned him a 12 month sentence, according to documents received via a public records request and posted this evening at BlackBoxVoting.org.

LHS Associates, as BBV’s Bev Harris points out, programs “every single voting machine in New Hampshire, Connecticut, almost all of Massachusetts, Vermont, and Maine.”

New Hampshire District ADMITS Ron Paul Votes Not Counted

New Hampshire District ADMITS Ron Paul Votes Not Counted
Sutton township reported Congressman had zero votes, actual number was 31

Paul Joseph Watson
Prison Planet
January 9, 2008

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MBfmksI_wYY

The head clerk of the New Hampshire town of Sutton has been forced to admit that Ron Paul received 31 votes yet when the final amount was transferred to a summary sheet and sent out to the media, the total was listed as zero. The fiasco throws the entire primary into doubt and could lead to a re-count.

As we reported earlier today, an entire family voted for Ron Paul in Sutton, yet when the voting map on the Politico website was posted, the total votes for Ron Paul were zero.

Vote fraud expert Bev Harris contacted the head clerk in Sutton, Jennifer Call, who was forced to admit that the 31 votes Ron Paul received were completely omitted from the final report sheet, claiming “human error” was responsible for the mistake.

Two or three votes not counted could be a plausible mistake – but 31 votes for one candidate?

“The classic method for rigging a hand count is to write the wrong number on the form,” Harris told the Alex Jones Show.

“They are counting everything in public real nice, they fill out a form in public real nice and then they transfer it to another form and they call that a summary sheet and then that is the one they send in,” explained Harris.

“What happened is she said they did not transfer the number correctly and put zero instead of 31 – that is unacceptable as an answer.”

With 100% of precincts now reporting, the map originally listed zero votes for Ron Paul as you can see below. It has now been updated to reflect the 31 votes Paul actually received.

The remainder of the 31 people in Sutton who voted for Ron Paul need to go public immediately with the charge of vote fraud and make it known that they were cheated out of their right to vote.

Harris estimates that it could cost the Ron Paul campaign as much as $67,000 dollars for a recount, but such a move could throw the entire primary into doubt, especially in light of the fact that Barack Obama appears to have been cheated out of a win by Hillary Clinton.

Clear Evidence Of Widespread Vote Fraud In New Hampshire
Paul and Obama cheated out of 3rd and 1st by voting machines, hand count fraud

Paul Joseph Watson
Prison Planet
January 9, 2008

There were several major vote fraud issues to arise out of the New Hampshire primary revolving mainly around Ron Paul and Barack Obama, who were both seemingly cheated out of third and first places respectively as a result of rigged Diebold voting machines and deliberate malfeasance in the counting of hand-written paper ballots.

– Obama had a 13 to 15 point lead over Hillary Clinton heading into the primary. Nothing occured that boosted Hillary’s numbers immediately before the election, in fact immediately after the staged crying incident, many pundits argued it could only have harmed her chances. And yet Hillary somehow managed to instigate a near 20 point swing to defeat Obama by three per cent. If not for her 7% swing as a result of Diebold voting machines, Hillary would have lost to Obama. If Obama was struggling he would probably contest this bizarre outcome, but he is likely to accept the results simply to save face.

The New Hampshire town of Sutton admits that it voided every vote Ron Paul received. The Congressman got 31 votes and yet due to a “human error,” Sutton reported zero votes for Ron Paul. How “human error” can explain not counting 31 votes in succession for one single candidate is beyond the pale and Ron Paul’s campaign should ask for a recount across New Hampshire immediately.

– As soon as people went public with the fact that their votes in Sutton had not been counted, other districts where Paul had supposedly received zero votes, such as Greenville, suddenly changed their final tallies and attributed votes to the Congressman.

– Going into New Hampshire Ron Paul was polling in the early teens and was a strong bet to take third place behind McCain and Romney. Four days before the vote, Rasmussen had Paul at 14% – a significant lead over Huckabee on 11% and Giuliani on 8% – and yet Ron Paul finished with just 8%. Proof of clear vote fraud, allied with the fact that Paul’s numbers show a 6% swing from normally accurate pre-polling forecasts, clearly indicate chicanery was at hand, especially considering the fact that Paul lost those crucial few percentage points to Giuliani as a reuslt of electronic Diebold voting machines which are known to be wide open to tampering and fraud.

Going purely on hand-counts, which as we saw in Sutton were by no means angelic but at least harder to cheat on than Diebold voting machines without getting caught, Ron Paul would have won 15% of the vote and finished third. This figure would have more accurately correlated to the pre-primary polls rather than the ridiculous 8% he was eventually given.

Numerous districts reported totals of anything up to 22% for “other candidates”. What on earth does this black hole of “other candidates” mean? How can one vote for a candidate that is not on the ballot without spoiling the ballot paper? The district of Lisbon reported 22.5% votes for this mysterious “other” candidate, while in the large district of Londonderry, the “other” candidate received 10%. Many are now alleging that these “other” votes were merely siphoned from Ron Paul to keep his final number low.

– Rudy Giuliani, the 9/11 candidate who beat Ron Paul thanks to the aid of a 3% swing on Diebold voting machines, received 9.11% of the vote in three different towns. Coincidence or somebody’s idea of a sick joke?

Vote Fraud Expert Warns Of New Hampshire Chicanery

Vote Fraud Expert Warns Of New Hampshire Chicanery
Key vulnerabilities of Diebold machine identified within ten minutes by programmer

Paul Joseph Watson
Prison Planet
January 8, 2008

“It’s not who votes that counts. It’s who counts the votes.” Joseph Stalin.

Vote fraud expert Bev Harris has warned that New Hampshire’s electronic voting machines are wide open to fraud and that even modestly skilled computer programmers were able to identify key vulnerabilities within ten minutes of assessing them as key Democrat and Republican primaries unfold today.

The contract for programming all of New Hampshire’s Diebold voting machines, which combined will count 81 per cent of the vote today, is owned by LHS Associates, which also holds the contracts for Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Vermont.

LHS is owned by John Silvestro, who has been at the center of a long-running public dispute in trying to deflect accusations made by hacker Harri Hursti that the machines can easily be rigged.

“The exact same make, model and version hacked in the Black Box Voting project in Leon County is used throughout New Hampshire, where about 45 percent of elections administrators hand count paper ballots at the polling place, with the remaining locations all using the Diebold version 1.94w optical scan machine,” writes Harris.

One area of disagreement between Hursti and Silvestro was the amount of expertise needed to exploit the Diebold 1.94w optical scan system. Silvestro claimed (in a strange contortion of reasoning) that he doesn’t hire very skilled programmers, implying that this makes New Hampshire elections more secure.

Hursti pointed out that hiring programmers with a lack of knowledge is generally not considered a security feature, and also that an average high schooler can learn to exploit the system in two days to two weeks.

In this You Tube video, Silvestro constantly interrupts Hursti’s testimony in front of the New Hampshire legislative.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PiiaBqwqkXs

After purchasing a Diebold 1.94w machine, a computer repair shop employee picked at random by Black Box Voting was able to zero in on the system’s vulnerable memory card within just ten minutes.

Harris points out that LHS is a private company that will count over four fifths of the New Hampshire vote with no oversight whatsoever.

LHS is not subject to public records requirements, as the government is, at least, not in New Hampshire. The control over memory card contents is absolute; when cards malfunction or get lost, LHS brings the replacements. Since LHS maintains the machines, repairs the machines, and replaces the machines — often on Election Day — when they malfunction, they have intimate access to the chips, sockets, ports, communications devices and other electronic components.

A recent CNN report featured on Lou Dobbs’ show highlights just how easy it is to hack a voting machine and change how votes are tallied with just rudimentary programming skills. Experts warn that it takes only a minute for an unsupervised machine to be inserted with a virus and hacked.

Fox News Used Planted Actor In Focus Groups

The credibility of Fox News is pretty much close to zero. It was bad enough that they refused to allow Ron Paul in their NH debate forum, but now they have been caught planting an actor in their supposedly random focus groups. Frank Luntz one of the chief propagandists for Fox News who organizes these focus groups has been caught planting people in focus groups in a clear attempt to distort reality. During tonight’s Fox News GOP debate, Luntz organized a focus group to provide feedback from so called random Republican voters. However, one of the people in the focus group was also used in a previous focus group Luntz organized for the September 5th, 2007 GOP presidential debate.
