Iran Finds US-Backed Terrorists in Riots

Noworldsystem.com
June 24, 2009

While total mayhem on the streets of Iran intensifies, behind the scenes lurks the Anglo-American New World Order meddling in the country’s election process, creating a ripe environment for regime change against the Islamic Republic. If the color revolution is successful it will create a dictatorial Shah monarchy much like in 1941.

The coup against Iran consists of many operations inside and outside the country; U.S. and British funded Mousavi’s revolution, terrorists were used in the riots in Tehran and the mainstream media is shelling out propaganda against Ahmadinejad.

The latest news of US-backed terrorism in Iran came from Iranian Security Official claiming terrorist Mujahedin Khaliq Organization (MKO) played a major role in the recent riots in Tehran after the elections were declared a fraud. Officials reported that they have identified and arrested a large number of MKO members, arrested members admitted they were extensively trained in Iraq (Camp Ashraf) to create post-election mayhem. They also admitted that they were given directions by the MKO command-post in Britain. [Source]

The proof of U.S. and British operations in Iran is extensive, in 2007 Bush approved to fund a covert coup in Iran according to current and former military, intelligence and from presidential findings signed by the president. The operations gave $400 million to the CIA to spend on terrorist organizations such as MKO and Jundullah terrorists to help prop up a color revolution. [Source]

More proof of state sponsored terrorism: In 2008, Former Pakistan General Mirza Aslam Beig reported that the U.S. was providing training facilities to the Jundullah terrorists located in eastern areas of Iran to create unrest in the area and effect the cordial ties between Iran and its neighbor Pakistan. [Source]

May 27, 2007, the London Telegraph admitted “Mr. Bush has signed the official document endorsing the CIA plans for a propaganda and disinformation campaign intended to destabilize, and eventually topple, the theocratic rule of the mullahs”. A few days previously the Telegraph reported Bush administration neocon, John Bolton told the Telegraph that a US military strike on Iran would “be a ‘last option’ after economic sanctions and attempts to foment a popular revolution had failed”.

Globalist puppet-master Henry Kissinger had the same sentiments calling for a military invasion of Iran if the “color revolution” fails to overthrow the current Iranian administration.:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EkQ1iNHEGW8

Another Neocon, Kenneth Timmerman writes that “the National Endowment for Democracy has spent millions of dollars promoting ‘color’ revolutions . . . Some of that money appears to have made it into the hands of pro-Mousavi groups, who have ties to non-governmental organizations (NGOs) outside Iran that the National Endowment for Democracy funds.” Timmerman’s own neocon Foundation for Democracy is “a private, non-profit organization established in 1995 with grants from the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), to promote democracy and internationally-recognized standards of human rights in Iran.” [Source]

This election chaos in Iran will definitely be used by the Obama administration as the Democrat’s version of the War on Terror against the Mullahs. There are many signs that this administration will be the straw that breaks the camels back for regime change. In the 1970s Obama’s foreign policy adviser Zbigneiw Brzezinski flew to Pakistan to foment Iranian resistance by supporting the Afghan Mujahideen Jihadists. He wanted to arm and fund the Mujahideen without revealing the United States role.:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WaiJtLrEwVU

The 2009 Iranian election mayhem started by the corporate-controlled media reporting that candidate Mousavi was the winner before the elections ended. This created mass confusion, once the election ended Ahmadinejad was declared the winner, immediately after, Mousavi denounced the election as rigged causing all hell to break loose in the streets of Tehran.

The mainstream media has its dirty fingerprints all over the plot to help overthrow Iran, they are extremely biased towards Mousavi. Example; the BBC News website used a photo of Ahmadinejad waving to his supporters, the BBC cropped-out Ahmadinejad and used the crowd claiming that the photo was of anti-government protesters in favor of Mousavi. [Source] Not to say the Mousavi supporters are not genuine, but looking at the evidence it proves the U.S. and the British are helping the “color revolution” and using this opportunity to take out the Mullahs.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ehpPPPiqMc4

Mousavi’s green revolution against the Mullahs could be at its end because of his past leadership mistakes when Prime Minister of Iran in the 1980’s. During his leadership he personally selected a terrorist named Ali Akbar Mohtashemi-pur as the ambassador of Iran in Beirut. The new ambassador was caught by the NSA discussing plans to carry out terrorism. [Source]

The man that is now standing in line to take Mousavi’s place is none other than the son of the late Shah of Iran, Reza Pahlavi, who is emerging as a prominent figure of the color revolution. Pahlavi long planned to help overthrow the Mullahs, five years ago he called for a “revolution sparked by massive civil disobedience in which the masses in the streets are backed by elements of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard,” adding that he was in contact with members of the Guard who shared his vision. Pahlavi left Iran in 1978 and was educated in the United States before training as a jet fighter pilot at the Reese Air Force Base in Lubbock, Texas.

According to writer Michael Edwards, Pahlavi “has continually appeared on satellite radio and TV shows beamed into Iran, repeatedly calling for civil disobedience in order to topple the Islamic Mullahs. He promotes a US-UN backed referendum to decide whether Iran is to be governed as a constitutional monarchy, which he says he can lead as Shah, or a secular democracy.” [Source]

History of the Shah Dictatorship in Iran

To understand what it means to have another Shah of Iran you must look back at the history of Iran and how the United States and Great Britain meddled in the past to install a dictatorial monarchy.:

Since Britain was the first to discover oil fields in Iran in 1908, the Anglo-American Empire had its meddling paws in every aspect of Iranian life. Upon discovery Britain decided to create The Anglo-Iranian Oil Company (AIOC) in the country, it was run only for the benefit of the British. In 1954 he Anglo-Iranian Oil Company changed its name to British Petroleum (BP).

In 1941 the British/American empire installed the Shah of Iran, Mohammed Reza Pahlavi. By 1944 the Iranian people started to realize the Shah was nothing more than a puppet of the British/American empire and started mass riots, the Shah ordered Martial Law and arresting party leaders and clerics that oppose the regime.

But in 1951 the Iranian Revolution was finally heard when Iranian nationalist Mohammed Mossadeq was elected Prime Minister. Mossadeq at this time nationalized AIOC to make sure Iranians were the only ones to benefit from the oil fields and not the British. To the Anglo-American New World Order, this was a big mistake. In 1953 the newly created CIA and MI6 launched Operation AJAX, a plan to overthrow Iran by using terror attacks to subsequently blame them on Mohammed Mossadeq. This plan was later revealed in the late 1990’s when the CIA declassified large sections of Operation AJAX to the American public.:

“TPAJAX. The plan comprised propaganda, provocations, demonstrations, and bribery, and employed agents of influence, “false flag” operatives, dissident military leaders, and paid protesters.” [Source]

August 1953, with the help of the British and the U.S., Mossadeq was removed and the Shah returned back to his throne for the next 25 years, at this time American/British oil companies took over half of Iran’s oil production. The velvet glove came off the Shah’s iron fist after the coup against Mossadeq, all who opposed the dictatorship had to deal with the imperial secret police called the SAVAK that was just as brutal then the secret police of Nazi Germany. The Shah ordered deaths of demonstrators, torture and execution of all who oppose the Shah empire. In 1965 the Shahs main opposition Ayatollah Khomeini was deported to Iraq for 13 years for saying the Shah has sold their independence to the British/American empire.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ONhHX1NWjbo

The Shah was eventually destabilized and in 1979 Khomeini returned to Iran administering the Islamic Republic of Iran.

As years passed, Ahmadinejad was elected in 2005 and now today the discontent grows against Iran, the New World Order power elite want to control Iran once again to make sure the region approves of the plan for World Government and a better control the region.

Hersh Details Covert U.S. Funding Of Al-Qaeda In Iran

Reporter Details Congressionally Approved Covert Funding Of Terrorists In Iran
Military, intelligence, and congressional sources say secret war is vamped to bring down Iranian leadership

Infowars.net
June 30, 2008

Award-winning journalist Seymour Hersh has detailed a move by the Bush administration, with Congressional backing, which represents a “major escalation” in covert military operations aimed at destabilizing the Iranian leadership.

Hersh also details how The CIA and the United States Special Operations Forces have long-standing ties to the PEJAK, the outlawed breakaway faction of the PKK terrorist group in Iran, as well as other Sunni fundamentalists that former intelligence officials say “can also be described as Al Qaeda.”

Hersh describes how the neocon White House has vamped up secret efforts to work with the same terrorist groups that were once populated with figures such as Ramzi Yousef, who was convicted for his role in the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center, and Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, who was fingered as one of the leading planners of the September 11th attacks.

“The Finding was focused on undermining Iran’s nuclear ambitions and trying to undermine the government through regime change,” and involved “working with opposition groups and passing money,”Hersh reveals, quoting an unnamed “person familiar with its contents.”

Congress, under Democratic leadership, approved a $400 million request for funding late last year, according to Hersh’s sources, military, intelligence, and congressional officials with direct knowledge of the top secret Presidential Finding, which by law must be issued when covert intelligence operations get underway.

The corporate media has somewhat downplayed the revelations, which essentially highlight once again how the so called “war on terror” is a complete fiction, as US elites are funding Sunni extremists intent on destroying the Shiite Iranian leadership.

Hersh spoke about the article in an interview with CNN’s Candy Crowley:

“Well, one of the basic points is no matter what we say about diplomacy, you know, carrot and stick, the stick is working pretty hard and the stick is working overtime. This president did escalate the secret war inside Iran. We’ve been doing stuff inside Iran since ‘05 pretty heavily, Looking at the nuclear facilities, collecting intelligence and trying to undermine the regime, et cetera, et cetera but there was a significant escalation this year.” Hersh said.

They got a great deal of authorization to spend up to $400 million. That doesn’t mean he’s spent it all yet but he’s got that kind of authorization. The secret committees — anyone who saw “Charlie Wilson’s war,” — Charlie Wilson was able to generate a lot of money secretly. That’s what happens in Congress and the other major thing is we’ve sent in a special task force that operates out of Afghanistan into Iran.

“I did notice what Ambassador Crocker said about ‘not cross-border’ and I have a lot of respect for him and I don’t want to challenge him. But the fact is were inside but not necessarily cross-border. We have teams inside Iran. These include joint special operations forces (JSOC), the most elite commando units and basically they’re guys go after high-value targets around the world. They capture them or kill them so it’s a significant increase in American potential for damage inside Iran.

Hersh went on to state that one of the reasons former Commander of the U.S. Central Command Admiral Fallen was forced out and purged by the Bush administration was that he was unable to find out the full scope of clandestine operations inside Iran. Hersh also stated that the endgame for Bush and Cheney is to ensure that they do not leave office without first having eliminated Iran’s nuclear program, whether that be by attacking the country or forcing regime change inside the country.

We have previously carried reports of how the US and Britain are already at war with Iran, have been at war with Iran for a number of years now and are funding anti-Iranian terrorist groups inside Iran in preparation for the fallout that will occur after overt military action is commenced.

High ranking CIA officials, Defense department officials, former UN officials and retired US air force Colonels have gone on record with the specific details.

In an article entitled The US war with Iran has already begun, written back in June 2005, former UN weapons inspector in Iraq, Scott Ritter described how intelligence gathering, direct action and the mobilizing of indigenous opposition is all being carried out already by CIA backed US special forces.

Ritter stated:

As with Iraq, the president has paved the way for the conditioning of the American public and an all-too-compliant media to accept at face value the merits of a regime change policy regarding Iran, linking the regime of the Mullah’s to an “axis of evil” (together with the newly “liberated” Iraq and North Korea), and speaking of the absolute requirement for the spread of “democracy” to the Iranian people.

But Americans, and indeed much of the rest of the world, continue to be lulled into a false sense of complacency by the fact that overt conventional military operations have not yet commenced between the United States and Iran.

As such, many hold out the false hope that an extension of the current insanity in Iraq can be postponed or prevented in the case of Iran. But this is a fool’s dream.

The reality is that the US war with Iran has already begun. As we speak, American over flights of Iranian soil are taking place, using pilotless drones and other, more sophisticated, capabilities.

The violation of a sovereign nation’s airspace is an act of war in and of itself. But the war with Iran has gone far beyond the intelligence-gathering phase.

President Bush has taken advantage of the sweeping powers granted to him in the aftermath of 11 September 2001, to wage a global war against terror and to initiate several covert offensive operations inside Iran.

Ritter goes on to describe how Iranian opposition groups, including the well known right-wing terrorist organization known as Mujahedeen-e Khalq (MEK), once run by Saddam Hussein’s dreaded intelligence services, but now working exclusively for the CIA’s Directorate of Operations, are carrying out remote bombings in Iran of the sort that the Bush administration condemns on a daily basis inside Iraq.

He also describes how to the north, in neighbouring Azerbaijan, the US military is preparing a base of operations for a massive military presence that will foretell a major land-based campaign designed to capture Tehran.

Ritter is not alone in his assertions.

During an interview on CNN in 2006, retired U.S. Air Force Colonel Sam Gardiner claimed that U.S. military operations were already ’underway’ inside Iran.

“I would say — and this may shock some — I think the decision has been made and military operations are under way,” Col. Gardiner told CNN International anchor Jim Clancy.

“The secretary point is, the Iranians have been saying American military troops are in there, have been saying it for almost a year,” Gardiner said. “I was in Berlin two weeks ago, sat next to the ambassador, the Iranian ambassador to the IAEA. And I said, ’Hey, I hear you’re accusing Americans of being in there operating with some of the units that have shot up revolution guard units.’ He said, quite frankly, ’Yes, we know they are. We’ve captured some of the units, and they’ve confessed to working with the Americans,’” said the retired Air Force colonel.

The full seven minute CNN segment can be viewed below:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wmce6KmFh6o

Around the same time that Gardiner revealed this, RAW story ran an exclusive, which also revealed that, according to counterintelligence officials, covert operations were underway that included CIA co-option and use of right wing terror groups:

“We disarmed [the MEK] of major weapons but not small arms. [Secretary of Defense Donald] Rumsfeld was pushing to use them as a military special ops team, but policy infighting between their camp and Condi, but she was able to fight them off for a while,” said the intelligence official. According to still another intelligence source, the policy infighting ended last year when Donald Rumsfeld, under pressure from Vice President Cheney, came up with a plan to “convert” the MEK by having them simply quit their organization.

“These guys are nuts,” this intelligence source said. “Cambone and those guys made MEK members swear an oath to Democracy and resign from the MEK and then our guys incorporated them into their unit and trained them.”

The MEK were notorious in Iraq, indeed, Saddam Hussein himself had used the MEK for acts of terror against non-Sunni Muslims and had assigned domestic security detail to the MEK as a way of policing dissent among his own people. It was under the guidance of MEK ‘policing’ that Iraqi citizens who were not Sunni were routinely tortured, attacked and arrested.

MEK has been linked with numerous bombings inside Iran over the course of the last few years. The organization has also killed U.S. troops and civilians since the 70’s, yet the Bush cabal continues to fund them.

According to Global Security.org, “In the early 1970s, angered by U.S. support for the pro-Western shah, MEK members killed several U.S. soldiers and civilians working on defense projects in Iran. MEK members also supported the 1979 takeover of the U.S. Embassy in Tehran, in which 52 Americans were held hostage for 444 days.”

After a bombing inside Iran in February 2007, the London Telegraph also reported on how a high ranking CIA official blew the whistle on the fact that America is secretly funding terrorist groups in Iran in an attempt to pile pressure on the Islamic regime to give up its nuclear program.

The claims were backed by Fred Burton, a former US state department counter-terrorism agent, who said: “The latest attacks inside Iran fall in line with US efforts to supply and train Iran’s ethnic minorities to destabilise the Iranian regime.”

John Pike, the head of the influential Global Security think tank in Washington, said: “The activities of the ethnic groups have hotted up over the last two years and it would be a scandal if that was not at least in part the result of CIA activity.”

More recently, this May, the Iranian Intelligence Ministry busted a CIA-backed terror group that was planning to bomb scientific, educational, and religious centers, and carry out assassinations, according to a report in the Tehran Times. The arrests came weeks after Ret. Gen. Thomas McInerney urged the U.S. to carry out terror bombings in Iran.

McInerney publicly called for the U.S. government to support groups like MEK and carry out deadly bombings in Iran:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9GUVTbLEKgA

Here’s what I would suggest to you. Number one, we take the National Council for Resistance to Iran off the terrorist list that the Clinton Administration put them on as well as the Mujahedin-e Khalq at the Camp Ashraf in Iraq,” said McInerney.

“Then I would start a tit-for-tat strategy which I wrote up in the Wall Street Journal a year ago: For every EFP that goes off and kills Americans, two go off in Iran. No questions asked. People don’t have to know how it was done. It’s a covert action. They become the most unlucky country in the world,” he added.

Top Neo-Cons have been calling for the US to back terror groups in Iran and other reports clearly indicate that this program has already been in place for years.

Last November, Fox and Friends host Brian Kilmeade openly called for US support for acts of terrorism, such as car bombings, in Tehran. Colonel David Hunt, who has over 29 years of military experience including extensive operational experience in Special Operations, Counter Terrorism and Intelligence Operations, agreed with Kilmeade, stating “absolutely” in response to Kilmead’s question about whether cars should start blowing up in Tehran.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mH3BTaWrQ3I

Another Iranian-based terror group that the Bush administration is already funding as a means of regime change in Iran is Jundullah – a Sunni Al-Qaeda terrorist group formerly headed by the alleged mastermind of 9/11, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed.

“The CIA is giving arms-length support, supplying money and weapons, to an Iranian militant group, Jundullah, which has conducted raids into Iran from bases in Pakistan,” the London Telegraph reported last year.

The group has been blamed for a number of bombings inside Iran aimed at destabilizing Ahmadinejad’s government and is also active in Pakistan, having been fingered for its involvement in attacks on police stations and car bombings at the Pakistan-US Cultural Center in 2004.

As Seymour Hersh himself also reported back in 2004, U.S. intelligence and Israel’s Mossad are busy at work stirring up trouble in Iran in preparation for an attack on that country. In early 2005, the Guardian reported that “American special forces have been on the ground inside Iran scouting for US air strike targets for suspected nuclear weapons sites.”

If this all sounds a little familiar, it’s because it is. The fact is that the US has a long history of provocation and covert action inside Iran.

The In 1953 the CIA and MI6 carried out Operation Ajax (officially TP-AJAX), a covert operation by the United Kingdom and the United States to remove the democratically elected nationalist cabinet of Iranian Prime Minister Mohammed Mossadegh from power, to support the Pahlavi dynasty and consolidate the power of Mohammed Reza Pahlavi in order to preserve the Western control of Iran’s hugely lucrative oil infrastructure.

In planning the operation, the CIA organized a guerrilla force incase the communist Tudeh Party seized power as a result of the chaos created by Operation Ajax. According to formerly “Top Secret” documents released by the National Security Archive, Undersecretary of State Walter Bedell Smith reported that the CIA had reached an agreement with Qashqai tribal leaders in southern Iran to establish a clandestine safe haven from which U.S.-funded guerrillas and intelligence agents could operate.

The conspiracy centered around having the increasingly impotent Shah dismiss the powerful Prime Minister Mossadegh and replace him with General Fazlollah Zahedi, a choice agreed on by the British and Americans after careful examination for his likeliness to be pro-British.

Zahedi was installed to succeed Prime Minister Mossadegh. The deposed Mossadegh was arrested, given a show trial, and condemned to death. The Shah commuted this sentence to solitary confinement for three years in a military prison, followed by house arrest for life.

“If there had not been a military coup, there would not have been 25 years of the Shah’s brutal regime, there would not have been a revolution in 1979 and a government of clerics,” Ibrahim Yazdi, a former foreign minister and leading member of a political party that traces its origins to Mossadegh’s National Front, told the Christian Science Monitor on the 50th anniversary of the coup and installation of the Shah. “Now it seems that the Americans are pushing towards the same direction again. That shows they have not learned anything from history.”

“For many Iranians, the coup was a tragedy from which their country has never recovered. Perhaps because Mossadegh represents a future denied, his memory has approached myth,” Dan De Luce writes for the Guardian. “Beyond Iran, America remains deeply resented for siding with authoritarian rule in the region.”

Alex Jones’s latest film Terrorstorm covers the ousting of Mossadegh in depth.

After the Iranian revolution in 1979, the US again found itself sparring with Iran. Again we find a history of provocation and aggression. In particular, a fierce assault known as Operation Praying Mantis, is renowned. The operation began after a US warship had entered mined Iranian territorial waters in the Persian Gulf.

From Wikipedia:

On April 14 1988, the guided missile frigate USS Samuel B. Roberts struck a mine while sailing in the Persian Gulf as part of Operation Earnest Will, the 1987-88 convoy missions in which U.S. warships escorted reflagged Kuwaiti oil tankers to protect them from Iranian attacks. The explosion put a 25-foot hole in the Roberts’ hull and nearly sank it. But the crew saved their ship with no loss of life, and Roberts was towed to Dubai on April 16.

After the mining, U.S. Navy divers recovered other mines in the area. When the serial numbers were found to match those of mines seized along with the Iran Ajr the previous September, U.S. military officials planned a retaliatory operation against Iranian targets in the Gulf.

The battle, the largest for American surface forces since World War II,[1] sank two Iranian warships and as many as six armed speedboats. It also marked the first surface-to-surface missile engagement in U.S. Navy history.

The US also attacked and destroyed several Iranian oil platforms in a full out military assault. At the time the Chicago Sun Times reported:

U.S. naval forces on Monday attacked Iranian targets in the Persian Gulf to show the Iranians that “if they threaten us, they’ll pay a price,” President Reagan said.

In fighting conducted over nine hours, the U.S. forces knocked out two Iranian oil platforms, and then sank or disabled a fast-attack missile patrol boat, two frigates, and three speedboats when Iran attempted to fight back.

Note Reagan’s comments. Hence the name ’Operation Praying Mantis’ was a reference to the fanning of the wings used to make the mantis seem larger and to scare the opponent.

On November 6, 2003 the International Court of Justice dismissed Iran’s claim for reparation against the United States for breach of the 1955 Treaty of Amity between the two countries. The court also dismissed a counter-claim by the United States, also for reparation for breach of the same treaty. As part of its finding the court did note that “the actions of the United States of America against Iranian oil platforms on 19 October 1987 (Operation Nimble Archer) and 18 April 1988 (Operation Praying Mantis) cannot be justified as measures necessary to protect the essential security interests of the United States of America.”

The fallout of Praying Mantis also resulted in the U.S. Navy guided missile cruiser USS Vincennes shooting down an Iranian civilian commercial airliner, Iran air flight 655, between Bandar Abbas and Dubai, killing all 290 passengers and crew aboard, including 38 non-Iranians and 66 children. The Vincennes was inside Iranian territorial waters at the time of the shoot-down.

The On the morning of July 3, the Vincennes crossed into Iranian territorial waters during clashes with Iranian gunboats. Earlier in the day, the Vincennes – along with Iranian gunboats – had similarly violated Omani waters until challenged by an Omani warship.

According to the U.S. government, the Iranian aircraft was mistakenly identified as an attacking military fighter. The Iranian government, however, maintains that the Vincennes knowingly shot down a civilian aircraft.

According to the Iranian government, the shooting down of IR 655 by the Vincennes was an intentionally performed and unlawful act. Even if there was a mistaken identification, which Iran has not accepted, it argues that this constituted gross negligence and recklessness amounting to an international crime, not an accident.

Newsweek reporters John Barry and Roger Charles wrote that Rogers acted recklessly and without due care. Their report accused the U.S. government of a cover-up. An analysis of the events by the International Strategic Studies Association described the deployment of an Aegis cruiser in the zone as irresponsible and felt that the expense of the ship had played a major part in the setting of a low threshold for opening fire.

George H.W. Bush, at the time Vice President said “I will never apologize for the United States of America — I don’t care what the facts are” in reference to the incident.

The BBC later reported:

It took four years for the US administration to admit officially that the USS Vincennes was in Iranian waters when the skirmish took place with the Iranian gunboats. Subsequent investigations have accused the US military of waging a covert war against Iran in support of Iraq. In February 1996 the US agreed to pay Iran $61.8 million in compensation for the 248 Iranians killed, plus the cost of the aircraft and legal expenses.

So we see that Britain and the US have a long history of covert action against and provocation of Iran in their bid to aggressively control the region. Nothing has changed.

Neo-Con Podhoretz Tells Audience To ‘Shut Up’ After Tough Questions

Giuliani’s foreign policy advisor Implies Iran should be bombed because it carried out 9/11

Paul Joseph Watson
Prison Planet
October 23, 2007

Arch-Neo Con Norman Podhoretz’s book reading at a recent Barnes and Noble appearance in New York turned into a hostile affair after he told the audience that Iran should be bombed because “We were attacked by Islamofascists on 9/11,” before being bombarded with accusatory questions and eventually telling the crowd to “shut up”.

Rudy Giuliani’s foreign policy advisor was subject to walkouts by individuals disgusted at the fact that Podhoretz openly called for air strikes on Iran, labeling Podhoretz a “fascist” who would have blood on his hands.

Asked whether there should be a fresh investigation into 9/11, Podhoretz simply dismissed the suggestion as “paranoia” and refused to answer the question.

Watch the video.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3MBzLTjVMhY

He later defended the fact that he signed the infamous Project For a New American Century documents, a Neo-Con manifesto for world domination that includes advocating the use of race-specific bio-weapons, and claimed that the PNAC had been “misrepresented”.Podhoretz then admitted that the CIA had overthrown the U.S.-friendly Iranian government of Mohammad Mossadegh in the 50’s, but called it “ancient history.”

He then went on to make a case that Iran was behind the violence in Iraq and had formed an alliance with Al-Qaeda, despite the fact that the two are Shia and Sunni respectively and as such are arch-enemies. He was then educated about how in fact it was the U.S. government that is funding Al-Qaeda affiliated groups to attack Iran. This mattered little to Podhoretz, who was then asked why we should “fight back” against Iran by bombing them when they had never attacked us?

Podhoretz’s answer was to state that, “We were attacked by Islamofascists on 9/11,” clearly implying that Iran attacked the U.S. on 9/11. Such unmitigated and bellicose propaganda might fly on Fox News, but many members of the audience were having none of it, asking why they should trust Bush and the Neo-Cons after being lied to for six years.

“Why don’t you shut up,” barked Podhoretz, seemingly having abandoned his ceaseless regurgitation of warmongering rhetoric and finally losing his temper.

Several members of the audience were kicked out of the store by cops but as Podhoretz left he was heckled again as protesters chanted “No Iran war,” before ducking into a vehicle and scurrying away.

The incident was another example of the sterling efforts of We Are Change NYC, who have made headlines this year for their prolific confrontations of numerous public figures from Hillary Clinton, to David Rockefeller, to Alan Greenspan.

We Are Change have almost single handedly ruined Rudy Giuliani’s Republican nomination campaign by repeatedly hounding him at public events and reminding that watching media that he is universally hated by New York firefighters and other 9/11 heroes while constantly invoking their names for cheap political points scoring.

Giuliani enlisted Podhoretz as his foreign policy advisor back in July. In September, Podhoretz met secretly with President Bush and Karl Rove and encouraged them to bomb Iran. Podhoretz is widely considered to be one of the few remaining hardcore Neo-Con loyalists, while a sizeable majority of the rest begin to flee the sinking ship as public opinion turns ferociously against the Neo-Con’s anti-American agenda and incessant warmongering.

Russia: Stop threatening Iran

Press TV
October 12, 2007

The Russian Foreign Minister urges the West to encourage Iran to cooperate with the IAEA, instead of constantly threatening Tehran.

In a joint press conference with US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Sergey Lavrov slammed the West for threatening to take military action against Iran.

“We believe collective work will be more effective if there are no parallel steps for imposing sanctions on Iran, let alone periodical calls to use force against the country,” the Russian minister said Friday.

He emphasized such threats only impede the efforts to seek a negotiated solution, urging the international community to make concerted efforts to resolve Iran’s nuclear standoff.

Bush Calls for the Mass Murder of Iranians

Bush Calls for the Mass Murder of Iranians

Kurt Nimmo
ADE
August 28, 2007

According to Bush, Iran is “responsible for training extremist Shia factions in [Iraq] which it supplied with arms and weapons, including sophisticated roadside bombs. He referred specifically to 240mm rockets that he said had been made in Iran this year and smuggled into Iraq by Iranian agents,” the Guardian reports from Reno, Nevada, where Bush read from a yet another neocon generated script, this time at the 89th annual American Legion convention.

“Members of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Qods Force are supplying extremist groups with funding and weapons, including sophisticated improvised explosive devices (IEDs). With the assistance of Hezbollah, they have provided training for violent forces active inside Iraq,” a White House press release, released to coincide with Bush’s speech, or rather script reading, would have us believe.

Of course, all of this nonsense, a fact pointed out by McClatchy Newspapers back in February. “Sunni Muslim insurgents remain by far the biggest threat to American troops in Iraq, despite recent U.S. claims that Iran is providing Shiite Muslim militia groups with a new type of roadside bomb, a review of American casualty reports shows,” writes Drew Brown. “While U.S. military officials have held briefings to publicize their concerns about the potent bombs known as explosively formed projectiles (EFPs) or penetrators, casualty reports suggest that such weapons in the hands of Shiite militias are responsible for a relatively small number of American deaths.”

U.S. officials have said that attacks with such weapons increased 150 percent in the past year. But a review of bombings by location shows that less than 10 percent of attacks that killed at least two American service members in the past 14 months were in areas where Shiite militias are dominant…. Of the 81 roadside bomb attacks that killed two or more soldiers from December 2005 through January 2007, one-quarter occurred in western Iraq, which is predominantly Sunni, and nearly two-thirds took place in Baghdad and other ethnically and religiously mixed areas, the reports show. Fewer than 10 percent were in predominantly Shiite areas.

Thus we are told Iran is not only supplying IEDs to Iraqi Shi’ites, but the Sunni insurgency as well. “The U.S. military has concluded that Sunni insurgents have acquired weapons from Iran,” the World Tribune reports. “U.S. commanders said Sunni insurgents, including operatives from Al Qaida, have received Iranian-origin weapons. The commanders said many of these weapons were believed to have been acquired through the black market,” never mind a paucity of evidence—but then neocons don’t need evidence, as fabrication and lies will suffice, especially when they are behind in their plan to reduce Iran to a smoldering ruin.

Maj. Gen. Rick Lynch, commander of the U.S. Army 3rd Infantry Division, gave the neocons a helping hand—or more likely received orders from the neocon infested Pentagon, when he stated earlier this week that “at least 50 Iranian agents” are “operating in his area of responsibility in central and southern Iraq. He said these operatives, both Iranian and Iraqi nationals, were members of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.”

Excellent—if you’re a Muslim hating neocon, especially following up on Bush’s plan to designate Iran’s Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist organization, the “first time a foreign military body has received that label,” as the neocon Reuel Marc Gerecht notes for the American Enterprise Institute, where Bush gets his criminal minds.

“Iran’s bloody role in Iraq has yet to be widely acknowledged,” Reuel Marc Gerecht continues. “But the clerical regime is killing U.S. soldiers there. Sophisticated Iranian explosive devices wielded by Shiite insurgents are producing ever-larger numbers of U.S. casualties. The brutal Mahdi Army of Moqtada al-Sadr is probably now responsible for about half of all U.S. combat deaths. Sadr, who visits Iran regularly, has developed close ties to the mullahs. And Iranian Revolutionary Guards have started training his henchmen inside Iraq. Tehran also continues to back the Shiite Badr Brigades, the military wing of the Supreme Council for Islamic Revolution in Iraq. This is increasing internecine violence in southern Iraq, where the feeble British presence has nearly collapsed. Bloody confrontations between the Mahdi and Badr gunmen are on the upswing.”

Indeed, such confrontations are part of the neocon plan to splinter Iraq into three disparate parts based along ethnic and religious lines. Moreover, for obvious reasons, Mr. Gerecht, a former CIA Middle East specialist, does not bother to mention that Abdel Aziz al-Hakim, who runs the “Badr gunmen” out of the Iraqi Interior Ministry, is in fact a neocon stooge, so favored—despite his association with Iran—he was allowed to travel to Houston for cancer treatment. It should also be noted that SCIRI was selected to receive funding through the Iraq Liberation Act of 1998. Gerecht mentions none of this, of course, as the point here is to turn the blame toward Iran, the next target.

As an aside, it should be noted that Gerecht, in an essay entitled Iran: Fundamentalism and Reform, enthusiastically recommends attacking Iran, if either the United States or Israel can convincingly make a case that Iran is supporting terrorism, a process well advanced, never mind how facile. “If Washington catches the Iranians in a terrorist act,” writes the dedicated PNACer, “then the U.S. Navy should retaliate with fury … If we attack, U.S. armed forces must strike with truly devastating effect against the ruling mullahs and the repressive institutions that maintain them. That is, no cruise missiles at midnight to minimize the body count. The clerics will almost certainly strike back unless Washington uses overwhelming, paralyzing force.” In short, the U.S., if Gerecht and the neocons have their way—and it certainly appears they will—should spare no brutality against the people of Iran, same as they unleashed murderous and even genocidal fury against the people of Iraq.

Finally, in an effort to crank up the heat, U.S. soldiers entered the Sheraton Hotel in Baghdad and arrested seven Iranians working for the Iranian Electricity Ministry soon after Bush delivered his neocon generated speech. “President Bush specifically stated that he had authorized his military commanders in Iraq to confront what he called ‘Iran’s murderous activities’ in the country,” reports the BBC.

Obviously, rebuilding Iraq’s electrical grid, so effectively decimated by the U.S. in March, 2003, is considered “murderous activities” by the neocons who, of course, want nothing less than collective suffering on the part of every Iraqi, Iranian, and any other Muslim with the temerity to resist invasion and occupation.

Neocons One Step Closer to Attacking Iran

Kurt Nimmo
ADE
August 26, 2007

As should be expected, the neocons have shifted from one preposterous lie to another in order to prepare the way for eventually inflicting mass murder, mayhem, and misery on the people of Iran.

“In an effort to build congressional and Pentagon support for military options against Iran, the Bush administration has shifted from its earlier strategy of building a case based on an alleged Iranian nuclear weapons program to one invoking improvised explosive devices (IEDs) purportedly manufactured in Iran that are killing US soldiers in Iraq,” writes Larisa Alexandrovna of Raw Story. “According to officials—including two former Central Intelligence Agency case officers with experience in the Middle East—the administration believes that by focusing on the alleged ties between IEDs and Iran, they can link the Iranian government directly to attacks on US forces in Iraq.”

Call it aluminum tubes redux. No doubt, in two or three years, after Iran suffers the horrific fate of Iraq, there will once again be rumblings in the media that the Iran IED accusations were not only baseless, but yet another primary example of the duplicitous nature of the neocons. Recall, as well, that the last time around the CIA argued that 100,000 high-strength aluminum tubes Iraq allegedly attempted to purchase demonstrated Saddam Hussein was feverishly and methodically working toward the objective of nuking grade school kids in Pocatello, Idaho. Of course, it did not matter at the time that technical experts from the Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge, Livermore, and Los Alamos National Laboratories, as well as the International Atomic Energy Agency, found this claim ludicrous.

Indeed, the entire “case” against Saddam Hussein was fixed around the “policy,” that is to say the neocon plan to mass murder extraordinary numbers of helpless and enfeebled Iraqis, emerging from the barbarity of more than a decade of medieval sanctions, a regime that cost over a million lives—more than 500,000 of them children—well “worth it,” as Clinton’s former secretary of state, Madeleine Albright, infamously averred.

In 2005, Bush admitted to employing Hitler’s Big Lie, that is to say a series of lies so “colossal,” as Hitler explained in his 1925 autobiography Mein Kampf, that the public accepts all manner of crimes in their names by way of willful ignorance. “See, in my line of work you got to keep repeating things over and over and over again for the truth to sink in, to kind of catapult the propaganda,” said Bush, obviously taking his cue cards from the neocons.

Now we have the Big Lie in regard to Iran, as preposterous and nonsensical as Iraq’s illusory weapons of mass destruction.

“The US military has provided credible evidence that the specialized IEDs known as explosively formed penetrators (EFPs), which have been killing US troops in Iraq, appear to have been manufactured in Iran. Intelligence and military officials caution, however, that there is nothing tying the weapons directly to the Iranian government, nor is there a direct evidentiary chain of custody linking the IEDs to Iran,” Alexandrovna continues. Even so, this “is viewed by some in the Bush Administration as sufficient justification for taking military action against Iran,” that is to say “sufficient justification” to butcher Iranian grandmothers and toddlers.

“The origins of the [IED] theme of Iranian complicity strongly suggest that it was a propaganda line aimed at reducing the Bush administration’s acute embarrassment at its inability to stop the growing death toll of U.S. troops from shaped charges fired at armored vehicles by Sunni insurgents,” notes Gareth Porter. “The U.S. command admitted at first that the Sunnis were making the shaped charges themselves. On Jun. 21, 2005, Gen. John R. Vines, then the senior U.S. commander in Iraq, told reporters that the insurgents had probably drawn on bomb-making expertise from former Iraqi president Saddam Hussein’s army,” not the Iranians.

But never mind—the neocons can count on the fact the average American does not know the difference between a Sunni and a Shi’ite, the former engaged in resistance and the later not, preferring instead—with the exception of Muqtada al-Sadr’s militia and a handful of other Shia renegades—to fence sit and even participate in the U.S. imposed puppet government.

As usual, in now standard neocon fashion, the original story of the resistance manufacturing the IEDs morphed into Iranian complicity. Bush and the neocons—or rather the neocons—made the decision “to start blaming its new problem in Iraq on Tehran. On Aug. 4, 2005, Pentagon and intelligence officials leaked the story to NBC and CBS that U.S. troops had ‘intercepted’ dozens of shaped charges said to have been ‘smuggled into northeastern Iraq only last week'” and the “NBC story quoted intelligence officials as saying they believed the IEDs were shipped into Iraq by Iranian Revolutionary Guards or Hezbollah, but were ‘convinced it could not have happened without the full consent of the Iranian government.'” In short, it was a big enough lie to begin a process that will result in thousands of dead Iranians and yet another depleted uranium killing field.

“A senior intelligence official told Raw Story Tuesday that the CIA had stepped up operations in the region, shifting their Iran focus to ‘other’ approaches in preference to the ‘black propaganda’ that Raw Story ‘has already reported on,'” explains Alexandrovna. “The source would not elaborate on what these ‘other’ approaches are,” although this should be a no-brainer.

No doubt at least a few people in Iran understand what happens when the CIA shifts it focus. “The CIA did exactly what was asked of it in Iran, deposing a mildly nationalist regime that was a minor irritant to US policymakers,” writes Mark Zepezauer. “In 1951, Dr. Mohammed Mossadegh, “the most popular politician in the country,” was elected Prime Minister of Iran. His major election plank was the nationalization of the only oil company operating in Iran at that time-British Petroleum. The nationalization bill was passed unanimously by the Iranian Parliament…. Though Mossadegh offered BP considerable compensation, his days were numbered from that point on. The British coordinated an international economic embargo of Iran, throwing its economy into chaos. And the CIA, at the request of the British, began spending millions of dollars on ways to get rid of Mossadegh,” resulting in the installation of Reza Pahlavi, the son of a Nazi collaborator. Pahlavi the lesser unleashed SAVAK, a secret police force with “the worst human rights record on the planet, and that the number and variety of torture techniques the CIA had taught SAVAK were ‘beyond belief.'”

Iran has plenty of company, however. Since the “national security” organization was established in the late 1940s, it has sabotaged governments in Guatemala, Hungary, Laos, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Brazil, Greece, the Congo (now Zaire), Bolivia, Cambodia, Chile, Angola, Afghanistan, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Honduras, Panama, Iraq, and elsewhere.

“There’s a lesson in all of this,” John Stockwell, former CIA Station Chief in Angola in 1976, reflected nearly two decades ago. “And the lesson is that it isn’t only Gestapo maniacs, or KGB maniacs, that do inhuman things to other people, it’s people that do inhuman things to other people. And we are responsible for doing these things, on a massive basis, to people of the world today. And we do it in a way that gives us this plausible denial to our own consciences; we create a CIA, a secret police, we give them a vast budget, and we let them go and run these programs in our name, and we pretend like we don’t know it’s going on, although the information is there for us to know… And we’re just as responsible for these 1 to 3 million people we’ve slaughtered and for all the people we’ve tortured and made miserable, as the Gestapo was the people that they’ve slaughtered and killed.”

Indeed, “we are responsible for doing these things,” and we will be responsible for whatever nastiness the neocons inflict on the Iranian people, as we have allowed these psychopaths to take over the government, same as the Nazis seized the reigns of control before them.

Of course, if one is plugged into Borg News, and is more concerned about allegations of abuse on the “reality show” Kid Nation, he or she cannot be said to be responsible—as responsiblity requires a conscience—or even cognizant, for that matter.
