Moneybombs: Keep Ron Paul In Congress
No World System
February 9, 2008
While presidential candidate Ron Paul is working non-stop to become the republican nominee for president, he’s also up against an opponent in the Republican primary for the District 14 of Texas. In a recent message from Ron Paul, he explains how important it is to secure his congressional seat, only requesting $400k, supporters are asked to donate to ronpaulforcongress.com.
In the message he also wrote that he is scaling down his presidential campaign and has again ruling out any intention for running a 3rd party candidacy: “there will be no 3rd party run. I do not denigrate third parties—just the opposite, and I have long worked to remove the ballot-access restrictions on them. But I am a Republican, and I will remain a Republican.”
Along with the ‘keep ron in congress’ moneybomb, grassroots supporters have also planned a new mass donation event which is scheduled for President’s Day, February 18th, to visit the promotional site Click Here.

Ron Paul Beats McCain in Maine Caucus, Primed to Win Over 1/3 of State Delegates
In the race for delegates, Ron Paul appears to closely trail Romney for first place
Ron Paul 2008
February 4, 2008
ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA – While most reports about this past weekend’s Maine Caucus focused on the purely symbolic presidential preference poll, in the meaningful race to secure delegates to the state convention Ron Paul is primed to finish second with likely 35 percent of the total delegates.
Delegates to the Republican National Convention in Minneapolis are elected by the state delegates. Internal results from 10 of 16 counties, including the largest cities of Portland, South Portland, Lewiston, Auburn, Augusta, Waterville, Bangor, and Brewer, show Ron Paul picking up 215 of 608 State Convention delegates so far reported, or 35%.
“Ron Paul’s strong second place finish in Maine, in which he beat John McCain, is proof that this race is far from over,” said Ron Paul campaign manager Lew Moore. “We’ll continue to battle for every delegate in this wide-open race for the Republican nomination.”
In the presidential preference poll, with 70 percent reporting, Ron Paul is in third place just two percentage points behind John McCain. However, the Maine preference poll is purely a beauty contest, and in the actual election of state delegates the so-called “frontrunner” McCain is far behind Ron Paul.
Ron Paul Second in Maine State Delegates with 35%
Romney has 52% of the vote while Paul has secured 35% of the state delegates who will allocate Maine’s 18 national delegates in May.

The final State Caucus before Super Tuesday is projected to be won by Governor Mitt Romney based on 74% of the presidential preference poll votes in Mitt Romney has 52%. There’s a battle for second place, in popular votes, going on between Ron Paul and John McCain. As of 4:34est the Maine Republican Party website showed there were just 154 votes separating the two with over 25% of the caucus locations still to report in.
According to a press release by Jesse Benton, of the Ron Paul campaign, the Texas Congressman, with his message of liberty and freedom, has already picked up 215 of the total 608 Maine state delegates. This number could increase as results come in from the final 6 counties. 35% of the state delegates place him second behind Mitt Romney even though McCain has a slight lead in the popular vote. There is no way for John McCain to catch Ron Paul in state delegate count even if he holds on to his slim lead in polling simply based on cities and caucus locations already won by Ron Paul
Although many major newspapers are giving all 18 Maine National Delegates to Mitt Romney that is not the case. State delegates in Maine are non-binding. The actual allocation of the 18 national delegates will not be determined until May 2 when the Maine Republican Party State Convention is going to be held and the state delegates will then decide.
“Ron Paul’s strong second place finish in Maine, in which he beat John McCain, is proof that this race is far from over,” said Ron Paul campaign manager Lew Moore. “We’ll continue to battle for every delegate in this wide-open race for the Republican nomination.”

The alarm in the Colorado Convention Center employee’s voice was verging on panic.
“That room is packed so tight it’s not even funny,” he shouted into a radio Friday night as the Segway he was riding hummed and swerved down a wide carpeted hallway.
The crowd for Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul was so large it surprised his own organizers. They were forced to hurriedly open partitions to double the size of the ballroom space minutes before Paul’s scheduled appearance in the Four Seasons Ballroom. When that wasn’t enough hundreds of people stood rimming the hall that sits 1,536.
“I’m just totally dumbfounded,” Paul said as he began his speech before a raucous sign-waving crowd. “The enthusiasm seems to be growing. Freedom is popular.”
Many of his supporters boldly predicted he would win more delegates in the state then front runners Sen. John McCain and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney even though Paul has yet to win a majority in any state primary.
“He’s real strong in Colorado,” said Vince Holcomb, 45, a massage therapist from Centennial. “Ron Paul is a lot higher in the polls than the mainstream media publicize.”

February 1 Ron Paul “Money Bomb”
The Presidential Candidates
January 27, 2008
The latest fund raising “money bomb” created by Ron Paul supporters is to be held on February 1 to celebrate the 51st wedding anniversary of Ron Paul and his wife Carol Paul. This “money bomb” is designed not only to raise money for the Ron Paul campaign but to highlight the real family values of Ron Paul in comparison to the other Republican presidential candidates.
As with all of the other money bombs created by Ron Paul supporters, the Ron Paul campaign had nothing to do with the planning of this event.
All donations to Ron Paul should be made via his campaign website: Donate to Ron Paul.
If you would like to pledge to donate on February 1 go to www.FiftyOneYears.com
As stated on the website, the goal of the 51 years money bomb is to “bring together 100,000 people to donate $51 each, creating a one day donation total of $5,100,000.”

Dr. Paul has also publicly praised Martin Luther King as his hero on many occasions spanning back 20 years.

“I’ve read Ron Paul’s whole philosophy, I also understand what he’s saying from a political standpoint and why people are attacking him,” said Linder.
“If you scare the folks that have the money, they’re going to attack you and they’re going to take it out of context,” he added.
“What he’s saying is really really threatening the powers that be and that’s what they fear,” concluded the NAACP President.

Ron Paul Plans New Event After Fox Debate Exclusion
Politico
January 1, 2008
Ron Paul’s campaign says he’s planning an alternative event at the same time as the Fox News Channel’s Republican forum in New Hampshire on Sunday if the network continues to hold back on an invitation, a campaign official tells Politico.
Already, blogs are alive with cries of “censorship” from Paul’s vocal and prolific followers.
Jesse Benton, Paul’s national press secretary, said he likely would hold a town hall with New Hampshire citizens — an event that would amount to counter-programming and would likely generate considerable publicity for the anti-war libertarian.
“We’re not going to sit around and cry about it,” Benton said.
“By all metrics, there is only a case for including Dr. Paul in the forum. We think it’s a little bit of a head-scratcher.”
Paul announced he raised $19.5 million in the last quarter of the year, and party sources say that is more than any other Republican campaign.
Fox News has not specified its exact criteria for the debate, but debate planners have long yearned to winnow the cast to permit more substantive and detailed conversation.
Fox has said it will make its final announcement about invitations after Thursday’s Iowa caucuses.
Benton said the campaign has placed about six calls to Marty Ryan, executive producer of political programming for Fox News Channel but said they have not been returned.
Ryan did not immediately return an e-mail seeking comment on New Year’s Day.
Paul will participate in an ABC debate in New Hampshire on Saturday night, Benton said.

Ron Paul Raises Near $20 Million In Quarter
Ron Paul 2008
January 1, 2008
ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA –Texas Congressman Ron Paul’s presidential campaign had a record fundraising quarter, exceeding its original goal of $12 million by over 50 percent when it raised nearly $20 million during the months of October, November and December.
“Only Dr. Paul has the ability to inspire Americans to contribute and take action that is necessary if Republicans want to defeat the Democrats in November,” said campaign chairman Kent Snyder.
In two 24-hour periods on November 5 and December 16, the campaign raised over $10 million dollars. The total of over $19.5 million represents an increase of nearly 300 percent from its third quarter total of $5.28 million.
For the quarter, the campaign had over 130,000 donors, including over 107,000 new donors. The total was reached with an average donation size that was just under $90.
Of the other Republican candidates, only Mike Huckabee – who reported $5.04 million this quarter – discloses his fundraising total online. However, Dr. Paul’s total is over $9 million more than any Republican candidate raised in the third quarter.

Ron Paul Sets All-Time Fundraising Record
Nolan Chart
December 17, 2007
This screenshot was taken 3 minutes after the fundraiser ended
Unofficially, the Ron Paul campaign raised $5.92 million dollars on-line yesterday. That’s the largest amount every raised by any candidate on-line in any electoral campaign ever, anywhere. Over 57,668 Paul supporters can be justly proud of themselves and delighted about what those kind of funds can bring to their campaign.
The Boston Tea Party blitz “broke the thermometer” on the $12 million campaign quarterly goal within the first few hours. Reporters and columnists will probably be quibbling about what records it actually broke for the next week, while they’re taking rides on the Ron Paul Blimp. Volunteer promoter Trevor Lyman will probably be getting more than his 15 minutes of fame.
Campaign Records
Candidates are not required to record contribution receipts on the day they are received. They are only required to exercise “due diligence” in entering the data prior to the end of the quarter, for reporting to the Federal Election Commission (FEC). Campaign offices may have stacks of checks received during the course of a week, before allocating staff to do the required data entry before a reporting deadline.
As a result, there is no way to tell, from FEC reports, what day the contributions were sent or received. The only thing known is when they were entered into the computerized reporting systems. The last day of a quarterly reporting period may be the most hectic. That’s when Hillary Clinton’s campaign entered $6.2 million dollars of contributions: June 30, 2007. At the time, her campaign publicized several million-dollar fundraising events in the prior week, but took no credit for any one-day record for receipts.
Ron Paul beat that record too! In addition to the on-line contributions, he received over $400,000+ in off-line contributions on Sunday, bringing his verified record one-day fundraising total of $6.32 million.
On-Line Receipts
In the 2004 presidential campaign, John Kerry took in $2.7 million from on-line contributions (automatically recorded into their systems on that day) two days after he “locked up” the nomination: March 6, 2004. That record was broken by the November 5th Ron Paul Money Bomb that brought in $4.2 million.
However, FEC records indicate that the Kerry campaign entered an additional $3.0 million on the same day. There is no way to tell when those additional funds were sent or received. Nevertheless, the total of $5.7 million has been reported as a one-day fundraising record for Kerry. Ron Paul total receipts broke that dubious record by more than a half-million dollars.
Quarterly Records
The 4th Quarter FEC reports are not due until ten days after January 1st, 2008. Given Ron Paul’s totals, it is unlikely that any competitors will be bragging about their quarterly totals before the numbers are released by the FEC, well after the Iowa and Wyoming caucuses and the New Hampshire and Michigan primaries.
At this point, the Ron Paul effort is projected to raise over $21 million for the fourth quarter. That exceeds the third quarter totals reported by every other Republican candidate for President. None of them have reported their receipts so far this quarter, although Mike Huckabee was delighted with breaking a $2.0 million campaign goal last week. At the beginning of this quarter, Ron Paul had more cash on hand ($5m+) than any other Republican candidate except Rudy Giuliani and Fred Thompson. Both Romney and McCain were in the red, due to debts incurred by their campaigns (for Romney, three loans from his own pocket).
For too many months, reporters have discounted Ron Paul’s credibility. He either couldn’t raise enough money (“the mother’s milk of politics”) or he couldn’t develop enough grass-roots support to turn out voters. On the first count, Paul is now the apparent leader in Republican Presidential candidate fundraising. He will undoubtedly be hiring more staff and buying more advertising. But, for real grass-roots activists, none of the campaigns even come close to the 77,949 real people who are participating in MeetUp events around the country. That’s twice as many committed supporters as all of the other campaigns (Republican and Democrat) combined. There are a dozen other social internet groups with tens of thousands of Paul supporters. In terms of grass-roots activism, nobody even comes close to the Ron Paul rEVOLution squads.
Next Sunday, Tim Russert will not be able to say “You can’t win” to Ron Paul’s face. That hour-long appearance on Meet The Press will expose millions more to the Ron Paul message. What astounds the other campaigns is that Ron has no “handlers” to “prep him” for this major appearance. He doesn’t need them. He’s been practicing for 30 years and never varied in his principles. He is naturally eloquent and he can be totally honest, because he respects voters and knows the facts. There will be a lot of people astounded by the successes of the Ron Paul campaign. And they will be astounded again when the January election results start arriving.

Ron Paul Hits $14 Million
With the $12 million goal for fourth-quarter met and half-way into the Boston tea-party bash, donations continue to peak as Ron Paul exceeds the $14 million dollar mark.
The campaign just sent out the word in an e-mail blast to reporters.
“The outpouring of support is astounding. Americans are rallying to Dr. Paul’s message and showing that they want a government that respects their rights and protects their freedoms,” Paul campaign manager Lew Moore says in that press release.
The starting balance at midnight on December 16th was $11,552,560.73 (see screenshot here) which means Ron Paul has gained approx. 2.5 million since midnight. But time will tell how much will come out of this money-fest, you can watch the mayhem unfold live on Ron Paul Graphs and Paul Cash.

Liberty Is Brewing: Ron Paul Hits Fundraising Goal of $12 Million for Quarter
Nolan Chart
December 16, 2007
Ron Paul (R) of Texas set a 4th quarter fundraising goal of $12 million and hit it at 1:12 A.M. EST. At midnight, the start of his supporters’ latest grassroots moneybomb effort, his campaign had $11,551,156.57 according to his website. About an hour later Paul had raised enough to break the $12 million mark and hit his goal for the quarter.
The Tea Party started at midnight and thousands around the country have been watching since to see just how much the presidential hopeful is going to rake in with a little help from his friends.
New York City Meetup group organizer Avery Knapp, himself a liberty-loving doctor like his hero, addressed the 1,000+ member group at a large party commemorating the Tea Party celebration at the Manhattan headquarters. Inciting an already excited crowd, he encouraged them to consider the importance of the date in history:
“Ron Paul speaks of a world of peace, freedom and prosperity. But you are the makers of that world, and your children will one day reap the benefits. Ron Paul may have sparked in your imagination a better, more free world. But you are the ones who will make it so, and manifest it in your hearts, minds, and bodies for the rest of your lives. Ron Paul may have cured your apathy, but you are the passioned supporters who shall never be apathetic again.”
Liberty is brewing. Stay tuned.

‘View’ hosts grill Paul on abortion
Nick Juliano
Raw Story
December 4, 2007
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W7kKSSbPJbM
Ron Paul defended his anti-abortion stance during an intense grilling from the women hosting “The View” Tuesday, acknowledging that he was unlikely to convince the pro-choice women of his position and that it would be virtually impossible to completely outlaw the procedure nationally.
“I don’t think we’re ever going to reach a stage where there will no abortions,” Paul said. The Texas congressman, whose long-shot bid for the Republican nomination is gaining steam, said he would like to see Roe v. Wade overturned. But Paul said state governments should be able to decide for themselves how to regulate abortion. “But I want to sort this out the way the constitution mandates, and that is at the local level.”
Paul, a former OB-GYN, said his anti-abortion position was based on his view that a fetus was a human being with the same rights as any other person. Just as he advocated personal privacy that would not give people the right’s to commit murder, he did not view a woman’s claim to her own body as superior to the fetus’s right to life.
“It’s a legal position because I honor and respect the rights of the mother. But your home too; your home is your castle,” Paul said. “I don’t want any government in your home: no searches without warrants, no cameras. But you can’t kill your baby in your home.”
The hosts spent several minutes discussing Paul’s abortion position, although they spent virtually no time on the libertarian lawmaker’s fierce opposition to the war in Iraq and his calls for limiting American intervention abroad, which have garnered him substantial support online.
Paul is the first candidate to appear on the popular daytime talk show since a writers strike began last month. Democratic candidates have said they would not cross picket lines to appear on The View while the strike persists; a CBS-sponsored debate could also be canceled because of Democrats refusals to participate if that network’s news writers call a strike.
On Tuesday’s show, Paul — a proponent of returning to the gold standard — said the dollar’s ongoing loss of value is “one of the most serious threats we’re facing today.”
Paul was visibly agitated when co-host Joy Behar told him, “you probably are not going to win and you know that,” then asked who among the Republicans he would be willing to vote for.
“You want those pro-war people to win?” Paul asked. “No, you don’t. … If they come around endorsing my anti-war views, and pro-free-markets and sound money, yeah I would consider it, but I don’t have anybody now that I could vote for.”

Ron Paul’s 30th Drive Reaches More Than Half a Million
The Rudy’s Reading List money “bomb-let” won’t produce the kind of numbers that the 5th of November money bomb produced, but it’s creating a nice little fundraising tweener for the Ron Paul campaign.
Walt Thiessen
Nolan Chart
November 30, 2007
Halfway through the day today, there has been a definite jump in donations for the Ron Paul campaign. According to this graph at Ron Paul Graphs, donations for the first half of the day are about $200,000 higher than normal. The counter at Rudy’s Reading List shows about 2,300 committed donors. Since the 5th of November money bomb produced total revenue of $4.3 million from roughly 20,000 committed donors (plus an additional 20,000 or so who didn’t commit via the website) a reasonable extrapolation would suggest that $430,000 might be expected from today’s money bomb-let.
While well below what organizers of today’s fundraiser were hoping for, it’s still a respectable number. For contrast, consider that Howard Dean’s best fundraising day in 2004 was $700,000, so the Rudy’s Reading List bomb-let is still in very respectable company as far as online political fundraising goes. Also, there is very little doubt that the Paul campaign will appreciate today’s cash influx. An email they sent out a little more than a week ago pleaded with donors to give sooner than the Tea Party money bomb scheduled for December 16th, because they need to purchase advertising now for January. TV and radio stations don’t wait…they give their timeslots on a first-come, first-served basis.
There’s no word yet as to whether Rudy Giuliani has actually read any of the assigned reading given him by Dr. Paul last Spring. At this late date, it appears likely that Giuliani has probably blown off his homework entirely.
As for the aforementioned Tea Party money bomb, that site currently shows nearly 22,000 donors have signed up to-date. If donors on that day give the way that donors gave on November 5th, Dr. Paul could be looking forward to more than $5 million in one day, which would break his own one-day record, and that’s if the fundraiser were to happen today. With 16 days left before that fundraiser makes its own waves among the mainstream media, Dr. Paul could be looking at a $10 million day. Given the fact that his campaign reached the $10 million mark for the 4th quarter, it would mean a total quarter haul of over $20 million. Early January should be very, very interesting between the large media buys, the 1,000+ volunteers descending on New Hampshire, and a blimp flying around the country with Dr. Paul’s name plastered on it.
And that’s only based on what we know so far. Who knows what else those wonderful Paulites will come up with over the next 30 days, as the start of the primary season approaches.
