Bernanke Named Time Magazine Man Of The Year

Financial Crisis Perpetrator Bernanke Hailed As World’s Saviour By TIME

The real person of the year, Ron Paul, puts the record straight

Steve Watson
Prisonplanet.com
December 16, 2009

Federal Reserve chairman Ben Bernanke has been named TIME person of the year for 2009 and hailed as a saviour when in the real world he has overseen the worsening of the financial crisis, the looting of the American economy by foreign offshore banks and the destruction of the Dollar.

In a world where those vastly escalating war are awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, it makes perfect sense to award the Federal Reserve chairman with person of the year.

“His creative leadership helped ensure that 2009 was a period of weak recovery rather than catastrophic depression, and he still wields unrivaled power over our money, our jobs, our savings and our national future.” writes TIME.

The magazine also bizarrely states that Bernanke launched “a groundbreaking public relations campaign to demystify the Fed”, despite the fact that the chairman has consistently lobbied Congress for protection of the Fed’s “independence” (read secrecy), while categorically refusing to answer questions regarding the Fed’s decision making.

Bernanke has overseen the handing over of trillions of dollars to foreign banks and has defied lawsuits to keep secret the destination of the money from the American people.

The timing of the announcement couldn’t be more perfect. As NBC’s Matt Laur pointed out, Bernanke can go to Capitol Hill tomorrow, hold up TIME magazine and ask to be reappointed as Fed chairman.

Of course, if TIME’s person of the year award was really judged on toil in the best interests of the American people, the clear winner would be Congressman Ron Paul, who has railed against the Fed and Bernanke with great success this year.

Paul’s tireless effort to wrestle power away from the Federal Reserve and put it back into the hands of the American people has seen a major victory with the progression of legislation slated to audit the Fed and put it’s activities under public scrutiny.

Paul has consistently exposed how the Fed has delivered the financial crisis to America and the world via excessive spending, debt expansion and monetary inflation.

Instead TIME’s article on Bernanke refers to Ron Paul in the context of “Bleeding-heart liberals and tea-party reactionaries”.

Paul gave his opinion on the announcement regarding Bernanke on MSNBC’s Morning Joe earlier today, commenting:

“He is the most powerful man in the world, I believe a case can be made for that.”

“Because he controls the supply of money, the Dollar which is the reserve currency of the world. He can create a trillion dollars in secret without any monitoring of the Congress. So there is no transparency and I think he is more powerful than the president.” the Congressman added.

“The big question is, has he used that power for good or for evil? And of course, my side of the argument is that the system is evil, and the chairman, whether it’s Greenspan or Bernanke, they can do no good.”

“They cause our troubles, they cause inflation, they cause the bubbles, and therefore the bust, the correction is always their fault.” Paul stated.

McChrystal: Afghanistan Requires 500,000 Troops Over 5 Years

Classified McChrystal Report: 500,000 Troops Will Be Required Over Five Years in Afghanistan

Tom Andrews
Global Research
September 25, 2009

Embedded in General Stanley McChrystal’s classified assessment of the war in Afghanistan is his conclusion that a successful counterinsurgency strategy will require 500,000 troops over five years.

This bombshell was dropped by NBC reporter Andrea Mitchell on MSNBC’s Morning Joe on Wednesday:

The numbers are really pretty horrifying. What they say, embedded in this report by McChrystal, is they would need 500,000 troops – boots on the ground – and five years to do the job. No one expects that the Afghan Army could step up to that. Are we gonna put even half that of U.S. troops there, and NATO forces? No way. [Morning Joe, September 23, 2009]

Media Ignores Talk Show Host’s Open Call for the Murder of Truth Activist
Michael Reagan’s Use of the Airwaves to Contract the Murder of Mark Dice Not Reported by Any Major Network

Prison Planet
June 15, 2008

The mainstream media is continuing to avoid reporting on nationally syndicated talk show host Michael Reagan’s open call for the murder of activist Mark Dice, an on-air incident which sparked a flood of complaints to the Federal Communications Commission, law enforcement agencies, and to Radio America itself, which produces the highly rated radio program.

Reagan’s blatant calls for the assassination of Dice, coupled with an offer to “pay for the bullet”, have gone largely ignored since the broadcast aired on Tuesday, June 10th. In what would normally provoke an outpouring of media coverage among top news agencies and networks, a questionable hush seems to have fallen in the public eye concerning this outrageous criminal act perpetrated live before millions of listeners by the son of former President Ronald Reagan.

Dice, a private citizen, appeared on The Alex Jones Radio Show on Friday and requested that listeners file formal complaints with the FCC and with Radio America concerning The Michael Reagan Talk Show. He has also filed a report with the F.B.I and is considering legal action against the popular host.

Regan’s advocating of shooting activists like Dice, which could arguably be taken as a contracting for capital murder, came about upon his hearing that the politically active American was mailing documentary films and de-classified documents to U.S. troops stationed in Iraq to inform them that the 9/11 attacks were aided by elements within the U.S. government. Reagan made the following comments on air:

“We ought to find the people who are doing this, take them out and shoot them. Really. You take them out, they are traitors to this country, and shoot them. You have a problem with that? Deal with it. You shoot them. You call them traitors, that’s what they are, and you shoot them dead. I’ll pay for the bullets.”

Reagan continued:

“How about you take Mark Dice out and put him in the middle of a firing range. Tie him to a post, don’t blindfold him, let it rip and have some fun with Mark Dice.”

Students Call For Anti-Rove Activists To Be Tased

Students Call For Anti-Rove Activists To Be Tased

During a “speech” at George Washington University late last week, Karl Rove, the neocon dirty trickster who learned everything he knows from the convicted criminal and Nixon fixer Donald Segretti, was interrupted by three people, one accusing him of war crimes and the other two unfurling a huge banner calling Bush’s former brain a war criminal. As should be expected, the largely young neocon and “conservative” audience reacted in a predictable manner.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TlNm7kA9ojc

It was interesting, and indicative, when the students in the auditorium called for the activists to be tased, and although a few chuckled at the suggestion this is now indeed considered appropriate, sort of the way it was appropriate for Hitler’s Sturmabteilung, known as his “brownshirts,” to beat up and even murder the opposition. Instead of a neocon Ordnertruppen beating up the opposition, the Bushites depend on rentacops and police to do this, however the same vicious mindset is in play.Morning Joe, O’Reilly, Beck, Rivera, and other media neocons have accomplished their mission — it is now perfectly acceptable to call for non-violent demonstrators to be electrocuted with taser weapons, responsible for killing nearly 300 people since 2001. Remember, Morning Joe and his cohorts also called for beating 9/11 truth activists to a pulp and throwing them in detention camps. How long before the little neocons wannabes at Karl Rove events and Bush brownshirts begin demanding the opposition be rounded up and thrown in camps?

The corporate media has stepped up an ongoing smear campaign against anyone who dares to question the government’s leaky and falsified account of the events of September 11th 2001.

We received reports this morning that MSNBC ran a piece on Morning Joe during which a reporter called for anyone questioning the official account to be placed in secret CIA prisons.

One emailer wrote:

MSNBC Reporter on Morning Joe Today said “I hope there a secret prison for all 9/11 Conspiracy Theorists in Eastern Europe somewhere”

So when is it official that we live in the New Soviet Union, the U.S.S.A.?

The piece was a response to events in Corpus Christi yesterday where police arrested and detained a 9/11 truth protester with a sign at a Bill Clinton rally.

Video of the piece has now surfaced on youtube. Watch as the reporter sardonically states “you don’t do that because that’s when the secret service steps in”, while his yes people, including Joe Scarborough himself, who seem to be having their own conversations in the background, start braying “Where’s the Taser? Tase him bro!” like automated robots:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NdvQ1Gmy3Co

Evidently in the new America sign waving and enjoying your first amendment right is now considered a matter for the police.

These events follow the phony media-contrived “outrage” over comments made by Oscar winning actress Marion Cotillard.

After the comments, which are reportedly a year old, were hyped by the mainstream media, it quickly became apparent that a manufactured frenzy was in full swing when some newspapers wrote false reports claiming Cotillard had retracted her comments and apologized.

It is clear that this move was designed to foster a default position media response when it comes to any future story involving 9/11 truth.

Ron Paul compared to a Terrorist on National Television

Ron Paul compared to a Terrorist on National Television
MSNBC Hack Describes Ron Paul As “The Al Qaeda Wing Of The Republican Party”

Steve Watson
Infowars.net
January 18, 2008

MSNBC correspondent David Shuster today compared Ron Paul to a terrorist on live television commenting that the presidential candidate represents “the Al Qaeda wing of the Republican party”.

Shuster, a regular on Hardball with Chris Matthews and other MSNBC programs was responding to comments Matthews himself had made during an appearance on the Jay Leno show.

Matthews stated that the GOP candidates could be compared to tribal factions in Iraq, commenting that that that Mike Huckabee and Fred Thompson are like “the fanatics, the Shia wing” while Rudy Giuliani and John McCain are “the more moderate Sunnis”, with Romney as “the Kurd”.

To describe Rudy Giuliani as “more moderate” is a joke in itself but that is beside the point.

When this exchange was reviewed this morning on MSNBC with Joe Scarborough, Shuster waded in and blurted out “I think it’s a great analogy, I mean Ron Paul is the Al Qaeda wing of the Republican party”. Shuster then began to smirk and laugh as the two anchors attempted to wriggle their way out of the situation.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jEcUTYbuDvY

So there you have it, the mainstream media, in the form of GE owned MSNBC, literally saying Ron Paul is Al Qaeda.

Shuster goes even further than Glenn Beck did last November when he declared Ron Paul’s supporters to be terrorists. Beck and CNN were flooded with complaints, will this happen to MSNBC? (click here to politely complain and demand a retraction)

Despite the fact that Ron Paul is the only GOP candidate who advocates a complete withdrawal from Iraq, despite the fact that Ron Paul is the only candidate advancing a humble foreign policy, despite the fact that Ron Paul is the only candidate to denounce the concept of preemptive war, he is somehow compared to terrorists.

At the core of Ron Paul’s message lies the unimpeded freedom of the individual in America, the very aspect of life we are told on a daily basis by the same mainstream media is the reason “Al Qaeda” wants to kill us all.

Never mind, Ron Paul is Al Qaeda, just accept it. The sad thing is many people listening to Shuster’s idiocy will.

Tim Russert predicts Paul could beat Giuliani in Iowa

Tim Russert predicts Paul could beat Giuliani in Iowa

Raw Story
January 2, 2008

Republican presidential contender Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) could be poised to beat Rudy Giuliani — once perceived as a frontrunner for the GOP nomination — in Thursday’s Iowa caucus voting, according to NBC’s Tim Russert.

Appearing on MSNBC’s Morning Joe program for a discussion about the latest Iowa polling numbers, Russert said Paul could realistically score a fourth place showing in the state.

“Having gone around and watching this thing,” said Russert, “to say for example Huckabee wins, Romney is two. McCain comes in third. Thompson is out — he has already said if he’s not two, he’s out. I think Ron Paul has a chance of coming in fourth here. I really do.”

Assuming former Sen. Fred Thompson (R-TN) took fifth, Russert added that it appeared likely Giuliani could slip to a lowly sixth place finish.

Conservative pundit and two-time Republican presidential aspirant Pat Buchanan said he believed the former New York mayor was now facing an uphill fight for his party’s nomination.

“I think Rudy is toast…I mean, you can’t go 0-4, 0-5, and come back and win Florida,” said Buchanan of the possibility that Giuliani could fair poorly in the opening contests of the primary season.

Giuliani has not campaigned heavily in Iowa, choosing instead to adopt a national strategy focused on other states, such as Florida, that vote later in the primary process. More than twenty states, including New York and California go to the polls on February 5.

“When you get to Florida and the February 5th states,” Giuliani told Fox News, “we’re ahead in some cases by large percentages and in some case by closer percentages. We believe it’s a good strategy and it’s going to work.”

The latest poll from Iowa’s Des Moines Register tallies Giuliani’s support in the state at five percent. Paul and Thompson each notch nine percent.

Alan Dershowitz argues we should torture because it was effective for the Nazis

Alan Dershowitz argues we should torture because it was effective for the Nazis

Here is a snippet from Mr. Dershowitz’s oped piece in the Wall Street Journal, November 7, 2007:

Although I am personally opposed to the use of torture, I have no doubt that any president–indeed any leader of a democratic nation–would in fact authorize some forms of torture against a captured terrorist if he believed that this was the only way of securing information necessary to prevent an imminent mass casualty attack. The only dispute is whether he would do so openly with accountability or secretly with deniability. The former seems more consistent with democratic theory, the latter with typical political hypocrisy.

There are some who claim that torture is a nonissue because it never works–it only produces false information. This is simply not true, as evidenced by the many decent members of the French Resistance who, under Nazi torture, disclosed the locations of their closest friends and relatives.

Dershowitz calls for ‘accountable’ waterboarding, says torture ‘works sometimes’

Raw Story
November 19, 2007

Law professor Alan Dershowitz has become notorious since 2001 for his advocacy of legalizing torture and his insistence that it is fully constitutional as long as it is not used to compel self-incrimination. He has also been arguing since 2004 for a pre-emptive attack on IranLaw professor Alan Dershowitz has become notorious since 2001 for his advocacy of legalizing torture and his insistence that it is fully constitutional as long as it is not used to compel self-incrimination. He has also been arguing since 2004 for a pre-emptive attack on Iran

“I think the people in the United States want to see the Democrats be just as strong but smarter than the Republicans in fighting terrorism, fighting in Iran, fighting Iraq, fighting all the enemies of America,” Dershowitz said Thursday on MSNBC.

“If Democrats do that in order to win, they might be going against what they believe in,” responded MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski. “Perhaps what we really need to be doing is rebuilding our moral standing.”

“I agree,” said Dershowitz. “I think we should take a stand on waterboarding. We should say, never should it be permitted as a routine matter.”

He then cited the hypothetical “ticking bomb” situation, arguing that any leader would order torture under those circumstances, so “we’re just kidding ourselves by putting the issue underneath the table and coming up with extreme statements that we know we would never follow in practice.”

“If you torture, then what separates you from — the Nazis, or somebody else?” asked Brzezinski.

“Every government faced with a ticking bomb would, in fact, torture, and we would do it in order to get information to save lives,” Dershowitz answered. “The essence of a democracy, if you’re going to do something, you have to admit you’re doing it and you have to have control over it and you have to have restrictions on when it can be done. … If it’s going to be done in a democracy, then you have to make everybody accountable for it.”

“It’s been found that torture doesn’t cough up good information at all times,” Brzezinski pointed out.

“That’s just dead wrong,” Dershowitz stammered. “It works sometimes.”

Dershowitz concluded by insisting again that most world leaders would use torture to prevent another 9/11 but would do it “under the table and hide it. That is the worst response for a democracy. The best response is, if you’re going to do something that’s god-awful, like torture, at least acknowledge it.”

MSNBC: Ron Paul sets one-day fundraising record ‘in the name of a terrorist’

MSNBC: Ron Paul sets one-day fundraising record ‘in the name of a terrorist’

Raw Story
November 7, 2007

Ron Paul’s unconventional presidential campaign has regularly broken the mold of politics as usual and has set new records in the process. On November 5, Paul’s supporters raised over $4 million — breaking the one-day record of any other Republican — and they did it by exploiting the anarchistic associations of Guy Fawkes Day and the movie V for Vendetta. Although coordinated by an independent website, the campaign has been endorsed by Paul.

Conservative commentator Joe Scarborough indicated on his MSNBC program the next morning that Ron Paul supporters were already emailing him about the record-setting fundraiser. He said, “They’re crazed, they’re upset because in the first 32 minutes we have not announced that Ron Paul raised a lot of dough.”

“It’s an old story. That’s what Ron Paul does,” commented co-host Willie Geist. “He’s Ron Paul. It goes without saying.”

Scarborough noted the significance of the Guy Fawkes tie-in, explaining, “I don’t know if you saw V for Vendetta, but Guy Fawkes is a guy that tried to assassinate some king — King Henry or King George or King — James! … So I guess that’s a libertarian thing to do. Try to assassinate kings. And so they had a celebration of this dastardly act.”

Scarborough then showed a clip from a YouTube video in which the Vendetta-styled slogan “Remember, remember the 5th of November … the Old Republic is showing its face” dissolves into a “Ron Paul Revolution” logo, followed by a donation appeal with another logo saying “the Republic is … We the People.”

“Kind of strange, but that’s okay,” Scarborough commented. “I do think it’s fascinating that a guy like Ron Paul is raising the money he’s raising.”

Scarborough noted that there have been accusations that Paul supporters are hacking online polls to show Paul winning the Republican debates. However, he and his co-hosts agreed that whether or not Paul is actually winning the debates, he’s certainly made them more interesting. “With a lot of Republican candidates trying to sound like everyone else, he’s the one voice that’s standing out in the crowd,” commented Scarborough. “Maybe that’s why he’s doing well.”

Scarborough then spoke to NBC News political director Chuck Todd about Paul’s success, saying “4.2 million dollars, I’m told, he raised on Monday. That’s an extraordinary take … It’s very impressive …”

“In the name of a terrorist, no less,” Todd broke in.

“Anybody who saw V for Vendetta would be truly frightened … but a lot of true believers who believe in limited government and believe in Republicans talking like Republicans. That is a radical notion,” Scarborough concluded.

Scarborough: Mass Murdering Iranians will be Popular

It is a sign we are indeed living in a state of political and social psychosis: “On the August 27 edition of MSNBC’s Morning Joe, MSNBC political analyst Pat Buchanan suggested that U.S. officials were ‘laying down a predicate’ for ‘military strikes’ on Iran. Buchanan claimed that an attack on Iran is ‘comin[g]’ and went on to assert that a military strike against Iran would be ‘a very popular initial move.’ Host Joe Scarborough agreed, stating that ‘a military strike against Iran initially would be extraordinarily popular with the American people,'” reports Media Matters. “Buchanan asserted that ‘if you took polls of the American people, they would put Iran right up at the top of America’s enemies list and much more fearful of Iran than they are of anything coming out of Iraq,'” in other words, the neocon voodoo trance is working like a charm.

However, according to Media Matters, while “Americans place Iran at the top of the list of countries most dangerous to the United States, a clear majority of Americans say they would oppose an attack on Iran. A May 2007 poll conducted by CNN and Opinion Research Corp. found that 63 percent of respondents said they would oppose a U.S. government decision ‘to take military action in Iran.’ By contrast, only 33 percent of those polled responded that they would favor U.S. military action in Iran.”

It is, quite frankly, disturbing to realize, if we are to be any credence in corporate media generated polls, that more than a third of all Americans want to kill untold numbers of Iranians. It is nearly as shocking to grasp the utter stupidity of the American people, as they seem to believe Iran is a threat, never mind Iran does not have an air force or navy and poses absolutely no threat to the United States. On the contrary, the United States poses a threat to Iran and has in fact already overthrown one democratically elected government in that country and imposed a brutal dictator on its people. If not for the Shah and his sadistic Savak secret police, trained by the Mossad and the CIA, chances are slim to none the mullahs would be in power today.

Not that any of this matters to the disgusting Joe Scarborough and Pat Buchanan, the latter who should retire from the political commentary business as it appears he is now quite senile. In normal, non-Bushzarro times, Scarborough would be doing the weather at a second-rate television station in Skagway, Alaska—instead, he is allowed to infect many millions of impressionable minds plugged into the Borg box.

Buchanan would have us believe “that [Sen.] Barack Obama [D-IL] and Miss [Sen.] Hillary [Rodham Clinton (D-NY)] and the others would be in a state of paralysis because I think it might be a very popular initial move. And elements of the Democratic Party would support—you take—[Sen.] Joe Lieberman [I-CT] would cheer his head off. He’s already calling openly for military strikes.”

I guess Pat doesn’t read the news much, or he missed Hillary’s speech before AIPAC a few months back. It appears, as well, Buchanan does not put much credence in research, as a simple Google search reveals Obama suggested “missile strikes” against Iran would be fine and dandy by him, as the Chicago Tribune reported in 2004.

Somebody, please, show Pat Buchanan the pasture, as he is now a complete embarrassment.

Scarborough, on the other hand, is not senile—he is a disgusting neocon, very psychotic and disturbed, and understands precisely what he is doing, although it is nothing short of stupendous he is allowed to say the following over the public airwaves: “The thing is—and this is how sometimes some of the people that write for The New Yorker or The New York Times or The Washington Post just don’t get it. A strike, a military strike against Iran initially would be extraordinarily popular. With the American people, it would. It’s just like Iraq. The American people are overwhelmingly saying that there is a connection between Iraq and 9-11. Seventy-five percent of Americans supported the invasion. And you would have the same thing initially again.”

In other words, the American people are psychotic, just like Joe, and they get off on the prospect of six year old girls crushed to death under collapsed apartment buildings brought down by cruise missiles at three o’clock in the morning. According to Joe, my neighbor relishes the thought of millions of Iranians suffering from dysentery and cholera after the Pentagon takes out Iran’s water treatment plants.

Joe Scarborough is one sick puppy and needs to be removed from television right now as a threat to the public order. Again, if we believe these corporate media generated polls, a full one-third of all Americans are sadistic cretins, no different than sadistic cretins in Nazi Germany who cheered on Operation Barbarossa, the invasion of Russia, resulting in the murder of around 20 million Russian civilians.

Of course, Operation Barbarossa led to the downfall of Nazi Germany.

Maybe the invasion of Iran—or rather cowardly bombing campaign—will lead to the downfall of the United States. Maybe, just maybe, after it is all over we can round up all the neocons, including propagandists such as Joe Scarborough, and hold our own version of the Trial of the Major War Criminals Before the International Military Tribunal, otherwise known as the Nuremberg Trials.
