Ron Paul’s 30th Drive Reaches More Than Half a Million

Ron Paul’s 30th Drive Reaches More Than Half a Million

The Rudy’s Reading List money “bomb-let” won’t produce the kind of numbers that the 5th of November money bomb produced, but it’s creating a nice little fundraising tweener for the Ron Paul campaign.

Walt Thiessen
Nolan Chart
November 30, 2007

Halfway through the day today, there has been a definite jump in donations for the Ron Paul campaign. According to this graph at Ron Paul Graphs, donations for the first half of the day are about $200,000 higher than normal. The counter at Rudy’s Reading List shows about 2,300 committed donors. Since the 5th of November money bomb produced total revenue of $4.3 million from roughly 20,000 committed donors (plus an additional 20,000 or so who didn’t commit via the website) a reasonable extrapolation would suggest that $430,000 might be expected from today’s money bomb-let.

While well below what organizers of today’s fundraiser were hoping for, it’s still a respectable number. For contrast, consider that Howard Dean’s best fundraising day in 2004 was $700,000, so the Rudy’s Reading List bomb-let is still in very respectable company as far as online political fundraising goes. Also, there is very little doubt that the Paul campaign will appreciate today’s cash influx. An email they sent out a little more than a week ago pleaded with donors to give sooner than the Tea Party money bomb scheduled for December 16th, because they need to purchase advertising now for January. TV and radio stations don’t wait…they give their timeslots on a first-come, first-served basis.

There’s no word yet as to whether Rudy Giuliani has actually read any of the assigned reading given him by Dr. Paul last Spring. At this late date, it appears likely that Giuliani has probably blown off his homework entirely.

As for the aforementioned Tea Party money bomb, that site currently shows nearly 22,000 donors have signed up to-date. If donors on that day give the way that donors gave on November 5th, Dr. Paul could be looking forward to more than $5 million in one day, which would break his own one-day record, and that’s if the fundraiser were to happen today. With 16 days left before that fundraiser makes its own waves among the mainstream media, Dr. Paul could be looking at a $10 million day. Given the fact that his campaign reached the $10 million mark for the 4th quarter, it would mean a total quarter haul of over $20 million. Early January should be very, very interesting between the large media buys, the 1,000+ volunteers descending on New Hampshire, and a blimp flying around the country with Dr. Paul’s name plastered on it.

And that’s only based on what we know so far. Who knows what else those wonderful Paulites will come up with over the next 30 days, as the start of the primary season approaches.

Why is the Secret Service protecting Glenn Beck?

Why is the Secret Service protecting Glenn Beck?
Glenn Beck Confronted, Protagonists Questioned By Secret Service – Ron Paul supporters threatened with arrest for asking CNN host about recent tirade linking them with terrorists

Paul Joseph Watson
Prison Planet
November 26, 2007

Members of We Are Change Ohio were threatened with arrest and questioned by members of the Secret Service before and after confronting CNN host Glenn Beck this past weekend about his efforts to link Ron Paul supporters with terrorists, during public appearances at which Beck was promoting his new book.

Pro-Ron Paul demonstrators were waiting for Beck as he arrived at two separate events in Ohio, but those who tried to question Beck about his recent tirade about the Congressman’s supporters being a “physical threat” that should be dealt with by the U.S. military were quickly booted out by security and threatened with arrest by police if they re-entered the bookstore.

Beck and his mindless sycophants applauded as Change members were frog-marched out of the building for asking a question.

During one more low-key exchange, Beck did agree to have Ron Paul on his CNN show. Attempts to give Beck a V For Vendetta DVD were unsuccessful.

Watch the videos.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WR6rZtomgUM

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ZmL4ZIf24c

U.S. taxpayers footed the bill for four police to man the event at the second appearance in Columbus, along with several other plain clothed officers and even Secret Service officials who, according to demonstrators, questioned Ron Paul supporters.

Activists claimed that Beck’s employees admitted Secret Service were chaperoning Beck, leading to charges that Beck is being directly bankrolled and protected by the government to spew his propaganda.

One man was questioned about Ron Paul as he lined up to meet Beck.

“I know it wasn’t one of these people (the Ron Paul supporters),” he remarked.

“They looked like former military officers,” he added.

Fox Host Says Dissenters Should Be Tased

Fox Host Says Dissenters Should Be Tased

Kilmead laments that people who confront politicians aren’t “beaten to a pulp,” as establishment continues to sell war on anyone who disagrees with authority

Paul Joseph Watson
Prison Planet
November 20, 2007

During a discussion about a Code Pink member heckling Hillary Clinton at a recent event, Fox News host Brian Kilmead said that people who confront politicians are “threatening” and should be Tased or “beaten to a pulp,” as the establishment media continues to sell the idea that anyone who disagrees with authority should be brutally punished.

A segment on the Fox and Friends morning show yesterday turned into an opportunity for Kilmead to share his dictatorial fetish that dissenters be dealt with in the proper manner, as footage aired of Clinton’s heckler being removed from the event by security.

“They should Tase this guy,” Kilmead says. “At one point with security so high and tensions on edge, don’t you think they’re going to get at the very least Tased or beaten to a pulp by somebody? These people look threatening.”

Watch the video.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dj94zmK9JKk

A number of other recent high profile public confrontations were reeled off, some of which involved We Are Change members, to paint a picture of a growing threat that needed to be quashed.

As the screams of tasered University of Florida student Andrew Meyer played in the background, the presenters seemed to react with glee, after which Kilmead concluded, “I would be for Tasing anyone in Code Pink,” adding “I’m pro-Pink Tasing.”

As we have reported in-depth, this is all part of an intimidation campaign to silence dissent as the apparatus of the police state turns against anyone who questions authority.

Since Tasing is all part of “pain compliance,” otherwise known as torture, why not go the whole hog and waterboard these potential terrorists? After all, if Ron Paul supporters are a terrorist threat, as CNN’s Glenn Beck has so enthusiastically pushed recently, then how far should we go to protect America?

If it was good enough for the Nazis to torture their political foes then it’s good enough for us, as Harvard Professor Alan Dershowitz made clear last week.

“There are some who claim that torture is a nonissue because it never works — it only produces false information,” wrote Dershowitz in the Wall Street Journal. “This is simply not true, as evidenced by the many decent members of the French Resistance who, under Nazi torture, disclosed the locations of their closest friends and relatives.”

Wonderful – forget about those antiquated Geneva Conventions – let’s use what the Nazis did as a role model for how to conduct ourselves and see where it gets us.

Ein Volk, ein Reich, ein Führer!

Neo-Libs & Neo-Cons Gang Up On Ron Paul Supporters

Neo-Libs & Neo-Cons Gang Up On Ron Paul Supporters
Liberal Wonkette website teams up with right-wing Red State to “declare war on Paultards”

November 10 Philidelphia Rally – Credit: Jim Babb

In another example of how the establishment of both sides of the controlled political paradigm are scared stiff of the Texas Congressman’s surging popularity, smarmy liberal website Wonkette and frothing Neo-Con blog Red State have ganged up to form an alliance and “declare war” on Ron Paul supporters.

Wonkette is a predominately mindless political gossip blog which mixes serious items in with alleged humor. Its founding editor, Ana Marie Cox, was eventually recruited by Time Magazine to sit on the peanut gallery with the rest of the toadying establishment media neo-lib sycophants.

Wonkette has engaged in a continued smear campaign against Ron Paul supporters, maturely labeling them “Paultards”, “CGI runts,” inferring they are all racists and accusing them of spamming online blogs and messageboards, in a similar vein to the ridiculous accusations of those who claim that Ron Paul’s support is phantom or as a result of “spambots”. The fact that the Texas Congressman broke records in receiving over $4 million from donations in one day recently – from real people and not “Computer-generated imagery” as Wonkette would have us believe, didn’t seem to register with these morons.

Red State, a term originally derived from Marxist political thinking, is a virulently phony right-wing Neo-Con blog. Its chief founder, Ben Domenech, was similarly recruited by the Washington Post in March 2006, but was forced to resign within a week after admitting to plagiarism, before returning to the Red State editorial board. Red State is a favorite haunt of scandal-ridden Republican Congressman Tom Delay, who posts a regular diary.

Red State is notorious for banning anyone who criticizes George W. Bush – after he was banned, longtime Red State blogger Adam Bonin remarked that the website “Seems to represent the worst in partisan hackery rather than the intellectual, grassroots conservative site it had been.” Red State recently announced that they would instantly ban new users who “Shill for Ron Paul in any way shape, form or fashion.”

Now Wonkette and Red State have teamed up to “declare war” on Ron Paul supporters.

“We were impressed with your recent banning of Paultards. We have one or two that we kind of like, but we try our best to ban the others. Nevertheless, these little CGI-based runts find their way to new cyber enclaves, from which they donate $4.3 million dollars to celebrate Guy Fawkes, as popularized by that sad excuse for a film, V for Vendetta,” reads the Wonkette post.

“This is a call for internet bipartisanship. We must bipartisan…ly declare war on the Paultards!”

Red State followed up by accepting the invitation.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4BWFD4qPAfc

Whether this is just a tongue-in-cheek jibe or an actual policy to coordinate smear attacks on Ron Paul supporters, it’s merely a continuation of what both these websites have been doing for months.

If Ron Paul’s support base is nothing more than a bunch of CGI runts, retards and spammers then why are both these websites so obsessed about ceaselessly attacking them?

The fact is that the Ron Paul Revolution represents a growing movement of real people who are sick and tired with the same set of establishment stooges put forward in the Republican and Democrat fields every four years – the very shills that Wonkette and Red State lend credence to with their ninnying idolatry of people like Giuliani and Hillary Clinton.

Ron Paul is the only leading candidate from either field who advocates the immediate withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq. This isn’t a “fringe” belief, it isn’t a closeted whim on behalf of spammers, racists or retards – it is the majority sentiment prevalent in America today.

Wonkette and Red State’s amazement that they would be “spammed” with so many Ron Paul e mails and comments answers why their ignorance is rivaled only by their stupidity.

DUMMIES – you are getting so many Ron Paul comments and e mails because Ron Paul is POPULAR and his POPULARITY is growing. Do you understand?

Ron Paul is REAL, his POPULARITY is REAL, his supporters are REAL, and the record breaking $4 million plus he received in donations recently is REAL.

Do I have to spell it out any clearer for you to grasp this basic concept?

Now may I suggest you Neo-Libs at Wonkette concentrate solely on fawning over Bill Clinton at DC parties, and you Red Staters return to your masturbating over the future bombing of Iran, and leave the REAL political activism to those of us who are actually interested in saving America by electing the only REAL candidate out there?

Is This 20-Year CIA Vet Crazy For Saying 9/11 Is a Probable Inside Job?

Is This 20-Year CIA Vet Crazy For Saying 9/11 Is a Probable Inside Job?

Debunkers not so quick to attack hugely respected intelligence & foreign policy expert Robert Baer

Paul Joseph Watson
Prison Planet
November 5, 2007

Debunkers can scoff and chuckle all day long when a celebrity uses their public prominence to talk about 9/11 truth, but when a 20-year decorated CIA veteran says that the evidence points to 9/11 being an inside job, dismissive hand waving and off-the-cuff ad hominem attacks on credibility aren’t so easy to justify.

Bill Maher recently suggested that people who dare to question this habitually lying government’s official version of what happened on September 11 are crazy and should ask their doctor if Paxil is right for them.

Perhaps Maher would be less reticent to question the sanity of a man labeled “perhaps the best on-the-ground field officer in the Middle East” by Seymour Hersh and whose astounding career formed the script for the Academy Award winning motion picture Syriana.

Robert Baer is no “radical left loony” as Bill O’Reilly would allege and neither does he lean to the right. He is a widely respected expert on intelligence matters and middle eastern foreign policy, an Emmy award nominated documentarian and a strong advocate of the CIA’s need to increase Human Intelligence (HUMINT) on the ground.

Baer served as a clandestine officer in Madras and New Delhi, India; in Beirut, Lebanon; in Dushanbe, Tajikistan; and in Salah al-Din in Kurdish northern Iraq. While in Iraq, Baer tried to persuade the Clinton administration to back a coup to overthrow Saddam Hussein.

So when Baer told a radio host that “the evidence points at” 9/11 having had aspects of being an inside job, the noisy negativists and the trolls were notable by their absence.

Watch a video compilation, including Baer’s quote at the start.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LNsSn6D3CP4

So where are the debunkers on this one? What does Bill Maher have to say about it? One of the foremost intelligence and foreign policy experts in America and a 20-year CIA veteran to boot says that 9/11 looks like an inside job.

Let’s hear Bill O’Reilly try and trash this hugely regarded individual as another tin-foil hat wearing conspiracy theorist.

Let’s hear Glenn Beck attempt to slander Baer as the next Timothy McVeigh terrorist bomber.

Let’s hear Sean Hannity ridicule this honorable professional and CIA Career Intelligence Medal decorated stalwart as a caricature of liberal political hate speech.

They couldn’t, and that’s precisely why the debunkers, the COINTELPRO counter-operatives, the Neo-Con talking heads and the trolls are loathe to address Baer’s expert judgment on 9/11 being a likely inside job.

9/11 Truthers Are

“The kind of group a Timothy McVeigh would come from”

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SnKppff5yQ8

That’s the quote from Glenn Beck on CNN Headline News, Monday October 22 at about 9:15 pm EST. Mark this date and time on your calender as the exact moment in time when Glenn Beck denounced his right to be a valid member of the 4th branch of government in this country. If I was a black female basketball player and he was Imus, I just might sue.

Glenn admitted that 12% of Americans believe that the government was behind the attacks. He also brought up Charlie Sheen and Rosie O’Donnell as members of this dangerous group that is tearing apart America.

Glenn decided to bring on James Meigs, editor in cheif of Popular Mechanics, to put the American public back to sleep. James is utilized a lot in the mainstream media as a debunker. I guess the number of debunkers is really, really, really small. On the other hand the Truth Community has over 230 Architects and Engineers ready to explain the collapse. I assume he is on Geraldo’s speed dial and probably on call 24 hours a day now for putting out 9/11 Truth fires for all the networks. His explanation that Truthers look at small anomalies and blow them out of proportion and that they seek answers but don’t listen to the answers was quite cute. However I doubt that Mr. Meigs has called any of the firefighters or heroes who ran from those buildings that morning like William Rodriguez who dove under a fire truck, or John Shroeder who nearly jumped in the river or Kevin McPadden who got a 5 second headstart from the countdown of the demolition of Building 7. One day Mr. Meigs you will run from the collapse of your lies and deceptions to the American people.

Glenn did give 9/11 Truth fair time, just kidding, by inviting Michael Shermer from the Skeptics Society on to explain how these ideas get started in the first place and how he has thoroughly debunked all these claims. Incidentally the Skeptics Society Website has a UFO in the Banner. Great! So after Mike was done psychoanalyzing why Truthers believe Brave FireFighters over Cowardly Politicians with stock in Oil Companies and Defense Companies, Glenn determined to see if he did a good job for his bosses by posting a poll.

Bush Seeks to overturn Death Penalty for Killer/Rapist

Outrage erupts over Bush demands in murder case
Appeal of torture-slaying conviction could set U.N. law over U.S.

Jerome R. Corsi
World Net Daily
October 10, 2007

What the U.S. government wants in the Medellin murder case, now being heard before the U.S. Supreme Court, is “bizarrely grotesque,” according to the chief counsel for the Alliance Defense Fund.

And the warning from ADF Chief Counsel Benjamin Bull notes that the case, being pursued by President Bush through the Department of Justice, could result in U.S. laws being subjugated to U.N. resolutions and rules to the point that local police officers will have to spend more time studying international law than catching criminals.

“The notion that an international body can Mirandize the right of an illegal immigrant to call a consulate, so that if the local police trip up and innocently don’t to it, a convicted rapist-torturer-murderer goes free, goes beyond bizarrely grotesque,” Bull, whose organization has filed an amicus brief on the issue, told WND.

At issue is the death penalty verdict for Jose Medellin, who confessed in 1993 to participating in the rape and murder of two Houston teenagers. Jennifer Ertman and Elizabeth Pena were sodomized and strangled with their shoe laces. Medellin then boasted of keeping one girl’s Mickey Mouse watch as a souvenir of the crime.

The Bush administration is before the U.S. Supreme Court seeking to overturn the death penalty, at the behest of the International Court of Justice, a division of the United Nations.

Medellin and four others were convicted of capital murder and sent to Texas’ death row. A juvenile court sentenced Medellin’s younger brother, who was 14 at the time, to 40 years in prison.

But the Bush administration intervention came after the U.N.’s International Court of Justice found Medellin was not informed of his right to contact the Mexican Consulate for legal assistance.

That, according to the Hague, was a violation of a 1963 treaty known as the Vienna Convention.

WND requests for comment on the situation to the campaigns of three leaders for the GOP nomination for president, Rudy Giuliani, Mitt Romney and John McCain, as well as several other “second-tier” candidates, did not generate a response.

But Bull said the potential results are frightening.

“This is going to be a watershed case,” he said, “which could bring the U.S. criminal justice system into a brave new world, subordinated to United Nations regulations and issuances.”

He noted the 50 convictions of illegal immigrants that could be overturned by the ruling, and said many of them would simply go free despite the assaults and homicides that may have been committed.

“Most of these individuals will never be retried – and that’s another level of concern – because the witnesses aren’t available,” he said.

And even worse yet, he noted, is the precedent it would set for “activist presidents.”

If the case is decided the wrong way, he said, a future president simply could impose such requirements on the United States simply by signing a treaty composed by the United Nations.

“That should scare the pants off Americans,” he said.

“What this would do if decided wrongly would be to transfer American sovereignty to instruments of the United Nations, essentially putting it under the 3rd World governments who form a majority of the governments at the United Nations,” he said.

“Our worst nightmare as Americans who love our country will happen,” he said.

He said he expects the outcome of the case ultimately will turn on the vote of Justice Anthony Kennedy, because the liberal and conservative blocs on the court largely have coalesced in previous decisions.

“He’s the swing vote. I know which way Souter, Stevens, Breyer and Ginsburg will vote. Ginsburg, when she was general counsel with the ACLU, wrote a law review article advocating that American foreign policy be under the United Nations,” Bull told WND. “This [case] is manna from heaven for her.”

“It just shows how terribly important the appointment of U.S. Supreme Court justices is,” he said. “The activist left is working to import their agenda through cases like Medellin. A requirement like this, which is not found in the U.S. Constitution, would never pass through even the most liberal legislative body.

“Remember, this is just the camel’s nose inside the tent. This is not the end,” he warned.

Texas Solicitor General Ted Cruz, who is arguing on behalf of the state court system and its death penalty, said it is unusual to be litigating against the U.S. along with Medellin.

The Bush administration became involved in the Medellin case in 2003 when Mexico sued the U.S. over the consular issue in the International Court of Justice at the Hague. The so-called “World Court” is the United Nations’ top court for resolving international disputes.

The court ruled in Mexico’s favor in late 2004 and ordered the U.S. to reconsider the Mexican inmates’ murder convictions and death sentences. In February 2005, Bush announced that while he disagreed with the World Court’s decision, the U.S. would comply. He ordered courts in Texas and elsewhere to review the cases.

A few days later, however, the president withdrew the U.S. from the part of the Vienna Convention that gives the World Court final say in international disputes.

The Supreme Court, which had agreed to hear Medellin’s case, dismissed it later in 2005 to allow the case to play out in Texas. Last November, the all-Republican Texas Court of Criminal Appeals balked at the president’s order, saying Bush had overstepped his authority.

The Texas court said the judicial branch, not the White House, should decide how to resolve the Mexican cases. It also said Medellin wasn’t entitled to a new hearing because he failed to complain at his original trial about any violation of his consular rights and had therefore waived them.

Then Medellin appealed again to the U.S. Supreme Court, which announced last May it would hear his case. His lawyer, Donald Donovan of New York, will argue this week that Bush was correct when he took action to comply with the World Court’s decision.
