‘Federal health authorities recommended Monday that doctors suspend using Rotarix, one of two vaccines licensed in the United States against rotavirus, saying the vaccine is contaminated with material from a pig virus.
“There is no evidence at this time that this material poses a safety risk,” Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Dr. Margaret Hamburg told reporters in a conference call.
Rotarix, made by GlaxoSmithKline, was approved by the FDA in 2008. The contaminant material is DNA from porcine circovirus 1, a virus from pigs that is not known to cause disease in humans or animals, Hamburg said.
About 1 million children in the United States and about 30 million worldwide have gotten Rotarix vaccine, she said.’

More than half the scientists on the swine flu taskforce advising the Government have ties to drug companies.
Eleven of the 20 members of the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (SAGE) have done work for the pharmaceutical industry or are linked to it through their universities.
Many have declared interests in GlaxoSmithKline, the vaccine maker expected to be the biggest beneficiary of the pandemic.
The disclosure of the register of interests comes just days after a health expert branded the swine flu outbreak a ‘false pandemic’ driven by the drug companies which stood to profit.
The Government is now trying to offload up to £1billion worth of unwanted swine flu vaccine.
Last July, the Department of Health warned of up 65,000 deaths, with 350 a day at the pandemic’s peak. But the death toll now stands at just 251.
SAGE was created to give Ministers recommendations on how to control and treat the virus.
Official documents show some members are linked to vaccine manufacturer Baxter and to Roche, which makes Tamiflu.
GSK, Baxter and Roche stand to make up to £1.5billion between them from Government contracts related to swine flu.

Council of Europe to investigate Drugmakers’ links to “false pandemic” of swine flu

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) is to hold an emergency debate and inquiry this month into the “influence” exerted by drugmakers on the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) global H1N1 flu campaign.
The text of the resolution approved by the Assembly calling for the debate and inquiry states that: “in order to promote their patented drugs and vaccines against flu, pharmaceutical companies influenced scientists and official agencies responsible for public health standards to alarm governments worldwide and make them squander tight health resources for inefficient vaccine strategies, and needlessly expose millions of healthy people to the risk of an unknown amount of side-effects of insufficiently tested vaccines.”
The WHO’s “false pandemic” flu campaign is “one of the greatest medicine scandals of the century,” according to Dr Wolfgang Wodarg, chairman the PACE Health Committee, who introduced the parliamentary motion. “The definition of an alarming pandemic must not be under the influence of drug-sellers,” he adds.
Dr Wodarg, a doctor and former SPD member of the German Bundestag, says that the “false pandemic” campaign began last May in Mexico City, when a hundred or so “normal” reported influenza cases were declared to be the beginning of a threatening new pandemic, although there was little scientific evidence for this. Nevertheless the WHO, “in cooperation with some big pharmaceutical companies and their scientists, re-defined pandemics,” removing the statement that “an enormous amount of people have contracted the illness or died” from its existing definition and replacing it by stating simply that there has to be a virus, spreading beyond borders and to which people have no immunity.
These new standards forced politicians in most states to react immediately and sign marketing commitments for additional and new vaccines against swine flu, through “sealed contracts” under which orders are secured in advance and governments take almost all responsibility. “In this way, the producers of vaccines are sure of enormous gains without having any financial risks. So they just wait until WHO says ‘pandemic’ and activate the contracts,” says Dr Wodarg.
“In January, we will arrange an emergency debate about the influence of the pharmaceutical industry on the WHO, and 47 parliaments all over Europe are going to be informed. Following this, we will initiate an investigation and hearings involving those responsible for the pandemic emergency. The aim is that none of the pharmaceutical companies under any circumstances must be allowed to make their influence felt on pandemic emergencies,” he went on.
“The victims among millions of needlessly vaccinated people must be protected by their states, and independent scientific clarification should provide evidence and transparency for national and, if necessary, European courts,” added Dr Wodarg.

As European governments forge ahead with mass swine flu vaccination programs, reports out of Hungary and Sweden suggest that some people have died shortly after taking the H1N1 vaccine.
The Budapest Times is reporting that a 64-year-old woman has died just two days after receiving the H1N1 shot.
An autopsy has been scheduled to determine if there is a link between the vaccine and the death of the patient, who suffered from chronic, but mild, heart disease, according to the article.
So far just 4 people have died from swine flu in Hungary.
The country’s H1N1 vaccine is being supplied by local vaccine manufacturer Omninvest. The government there has ordered six million doses cover about 60% of Hungary’s population of 10 million.
Omnivest’s vaccines are egg grown and adjuvanted with aluminum phosphate. The company says that only one dose of their H1N1 vaccine is required. Though they have conducted limited trials with the H1N1 virus, their vaccine, is based on tests with the avian flu strain.
According to the Budapest Times report, Omnivest has threatened to sue over allegations that its swine flu vaccine may be dangerous. However, a leading advisor to the Health Ministry in Hungary, last week suggested that the vaccine is not suitable for small children and pregnant women, in spite of the fact that the shot is being offered to free of charge to those “at risk” groups.
Reports are also emerging out of Sweden that suggest more deaths have occurred.
According to the Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet, medical experts have said that a man in his fifties died of a suspected heart attack 12 hours after receiving the Pandemrix shot, which is manufactured by GlaxoSmithKline.
The newspaper also reported that a 65-year-old women died two days after receiving the jab, she is reported to have suffered from a “muscle condition”.

If you have many risk factors that allows one to feel bad by fever arising as it may be that you should abstain. It seems besides, as the elderly often fall ill in flu. This is something we are investigating and there is no timetable on when we know the answer,” says Lennart Walden Lind.
Other reports out of Sweden suggest that 190 people, including many nurses have reported suffering side effects from the vaccine to the medical authority (MPA).
“So far, the authority has received more than 190 reports from both health care and private individuals. By far the most common are pain in the arm. Then mild flu symptoms like fever, muscle pain, stomach pain, headaches, dizziness and fatigue.” reports Swedish news website DN.se.
The report goes on to state that GlaxoSmithKline is attributing a higher than normal rate of side effects to the adjuvants in the vaccine:
“According to vaccine manufacturer GlaxoSmithKline may be about one in ten vaccinated trouble, which is slightly more than the usual seasonal influenza vaccine. This is because a substance in the vaccine that triggers immune response in time.” the translation reads.
GlaxoSmithKline’s Pandemrix vaccine contains the adjuvant squalene.
Vaccinations began throughout Europe a little over a week ago. Sweden was one of the first countries to begin vaccination on October 12.
According to the Stockholm-based European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, there have been a total of 230 deaths linked to H1N1 in Europe since April, with around 50% of those occurring in the UK.

Despite national polls indicating that only one third of Canadians intend to get the H1N1 flu vaccine, a Federal Health Minister says it is the government’s goal to vaccinate 100% of the population.
“My goal is to have 100 per cent of Canadians (vaccinated),” chief public health officer Dr. David Butler-Jones told reporters at the National Microbiology Laboratory in Winnipeg.
The minister stated that the vaccine will be rolled out in the first week of November, with the goal of vaccinating everyone by the end of December.
“No step is going to be skipped,” the health minister pledged. Once the vaccine is approved, it will be shipped to the provinces and territories and local health authorities will operate immunization programs.”
Butler-Jones made the statement at a press gathering to announce a funding boost for swine flu research from the federal government in the shape of $2.4 million.
“At the end of the day, it is an individual choice,” he said. “(But) if you don’t want H1N1, get the vaccine.” Butler-Jones urged.
“We’re very fortunate as Canadians to be able to have that choice.” he added
Last week a new Canadian Press Harris-Decima poll indicated that only a third of people in Canada intend to take the shot. That figure is down from 45% in a similar poll conducted in August.
Only 11 per cent of respondents described themselves as very concerned about H1N1.
Butler-Jones scolded a portion of Canadian health workers who have also indicated that they do not intend to get vaccinated:
“Doctors and nurses are not immortal, as much as we might think we are,” he said. “And, unfortunately, if we’re not immunized, and we have influenza, we’ll take it into the nursing home and hospital and, potentially, we’ll kill our patients.”
The concerns of Canadian doctors and Health Workers have been proven justified by a study led by Dr Danuta Skowronski of the British Columbia Centre for Disease Control and Dr Gaston De Serres of Laval University, Quebec. The study found that seasonal flu jabs could double the risk of developing swine flu.
The World Health Organisation has dismissed the research as inconclusive, however some provincial and territorial public health authorities in Canada, including those in Ontario, have expressed great concern, leading to threats to delay or cancel mass vaccination programs.
Canada is to use the adjuvanted GlaxoSmithKline H1N1 vaccine Pandemrix, which contains both squalene and thimerosal, which have been linked with neurological side effects.
Pandemrix has also been “fast tracked” based on research only using “mock up” bird flu vaccines dating from 2007 and 2008.
The Canadian government, like those of the US and the UK, has agreed to protect the producer of it’s H1N1 vaccine from lawsuits over potential side effects.
The majority of cases of swine flu in Canada have turned out to be mild, with the virus having been linked to 79 deaths. The seasonal flu usually kills around 2000 people per year in Canada.
On Wednesday Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper appeared to hedge when asked if he and his family would get vaccinated.

A survey conducted by Harvard University has found that only one third of adults trust the safety of the imminently available H1N1 vaccine.
Just 40% of respondents said they would take the swine flu shot in the poll carried out by Harvard Opinion Research Program at Harvard School of Public Health.
The study, funded under a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, also found that respondents were worried about side effects or not concerned about catching the flu at all.
44% of respondents who were parents said they were unsure over getting their children vaccinated against H1N1, with 21% of those parents saying they absolutely will not allow their kids to be vaccinated.
Parents said that they were concerned about their children getting other illnesses from the vaccine and that they do not trust public health officials to tell them about vaccine safety.
The results show a great public distrust in the vaccine with just one third (33%) of the public viewing the H1N1 vaccine as very safe “generally for most people to take”. Even less (18%) believe it is safe for children aged 6 months to 2 years, and only 13% feel it is safe for pregnant women.
Almost one third (31%) of respondents think that public health officials’ concerns over H1N1 flu have been overblown.
Of the 40% of adults who said they would not take the shot, the majority said they may reconsider if people begin dying from the virus en mass.
The survey was conducted with a broad representative national sample of 1042 adults aged 18 and over.
The survey dovetails with a similar poll from Consumer Reports, one of the top-ten-circulation magazines in the country, that found almost two thirds of Americans would either refuse the vaccine outright or wait for more information before considering vaccinating their children.
As we have previously reported, both the GlaxoSmithKilne and the Novartis H1N1 vaccines contain both the novel adjuvant squalene, which has been linked to Gulf War Syndrome, and thimerosal, the mercury based preservative that some scientists have testified can cause brain disorders.
The vaccines have been rushed through safety procedures while the government has provided pharmaceutical companies with blanket immunity from lawsuits arriving out of the vaccine causing deaths and injuries.
In related news, more hospitals are demanding that workers be mandated to take the H1N1 shot, while Sacramento International Airport is to offer vaccinations in its terminals in a precedent setting move that critics have described as concerning.

A man in a red Volkswagon Beetle created quite a stir in Westwood, California. LAPD/SWAT, FBI and the Secret Service surrounded Joseph Moshe’s vehicle for allegedly threatening to blow up the White House, over 1,000 people in the vicinity of the scene were evacuated, all because of one man in a tiny red Volkswagon. In the eight-hour standoff a Military Armored Personnel vehicle blocked his exit, the man was pummeled with streams of pepper spray (see photo) and the driver was eventually tasered and yanked out of the vehicle.
Joseph Moshe is a 56 year-old bio-scientist working for a unit within Mossad, he has dual citizenship in Israel but lives in Westchester, Los Angeles. What’s so astonishing about this story is that the FBI had been surveilling Moshe’s home in California, the FBI was targeting him not because he made threats to ‘blow up the White House’ but because he informed the White House that he intended to go public with information he had regarding Baxter’s swine flu vaccine that’s being manufactured in the Ukraine and that the vaccine is an engineered genetically mutated bio-weapon meant to cause mass sickness and death of those inoculated.
When he became aware that the FBI was about to detain him, he packed some belongings in his car and set out for the Israeli consulate, located in close proximity to the federal building where the standoff took place. FBI pursuit kept him from reaching his destination. Moshe was not handcuffed because he was not placed under arrest, he was extradited to Israel and hasen’t been heard from since.

Polysorbate 80 (aka: Tween 80) is often used in foods as an emulsifier to mix flavoring oils with water and used in ice cream so it holds together as it melts. When eaten it’s harmless in small amounts per day, but when Polysorbate 80 is injected intravenously it may cause infertility and cancer. According to U.S. Library of Medicine and the National Institute of Health (NIH) a report shows that lab rats injected with small doses of Polysorbate 80 resulted in infertility. [Source]
Baxter has completed its first commercial batches of CELVAPAN swine flu vaccine (which also contains Polysorbate 80 and formaldehyde) the vaccine is created using cultured cells from diseased African green monkeys. The monkeys are first infected with a virus, then allowed to fester the disease while in cages and then they’re killed and the kidneys cells are harvested to make the vaccine. [Source]

Plans for 12,000 U.S. school children will be used as guinea pigs for experimental swine flu vaccine known to contain dangerous ingredient squalene, which has been directly linked with cases of Gulf War Syndrome and a host of other debilitating diseases.
According to a report in the Oklahoman, 12,000 children nationwide will partake in “fast-tracked studies” to test the side-effects of the untested swine flu vaccine in trials set to begin next month.
“The trials will test the vaccine’s effectiveness and whether or not it has negative side effects in patients,” states the report.
Since less than 100 children in the U.S. die from regular seasonal flu each year, a reasonable estimate would be that around 100 children will die from swine flu over the course of the next year.
So in effect, the authorities will vaccinate millions of children in order to try and prevent 100 deaths. If the mass vaccination program mirrors the previous swine flu outbreak of 1976 then the vaccine is likely to kill more people than the actual virus.
Furthermore, since the swine flu vaccine includes squalene, a dangerous adjuvant that contributed to Gulf War Syndrome cases, there’s little doubt that it will lead to debilitating lifelong diseases far more deadly than the swine flu virus itself for thousands of children if a mass vaccination campaign is conducted.
According to Meryl Nass, M.D., “A novel feature of the two H1N1 vaccines being developed by companies Novartis and GlaxoSmithKline is the addition of squalene-containing adjuvants to boost immunogenicity and dramatically reduce the amount of viral antigen needed. An 85-day old boy died hours after he received the second dose of oral polio vaccine and DPT vaccine at the Alangulam Primary Health Centre on Wednesday.
According to Anantharaj and Vasantha of Kidaarakulam, they took their son A.P. Selvam to the PHC, where the vaccine was administered at 11.30 a.m. as per the records. The boy, after being vaccinated, developed breathing trouble, and they took him to the PHC again. As per PHC records, the child was brought in at 1:40 p.m. frothing at the mouth. The PHC doctors referred the boy to the Tirunelveli Medical College Hospital. He died in the evening.
Deputy Director (Health Services), Sankarankovil, Shanmugasundaram said though 54 other children were administered the DPT vaccine on Wednesday, only Selvam developed breathing trouble. Nine other children had received their shots from the same vial that was used on Selvam. The body has been sent for post-mortem.
Director of Public Health S. Elango said it was unlikely that death was caused due to vaccination, considering that no other child was affected. The post-mortem results would reveal the cause of death. Dr. Shanmugasundaram said he suspected that the baby was fed in a wrong position by the mother since milk was flowing from his nose even as he was rushed to the hospital. “Milk aspiration” could have caused the death.

Authorities in Argentina are investigating whether there is a link between the deaths of 14 children and an experimental vaccine.
The children took Synflorix as part of a clinical trial run by the British pharmaceutical company Glaxo-SmithKline.
It has been developed to fight pneumonia, ear infections and several other pneumococcal diseases.
Dr Marchesse said some illiterate parents were not told that the vaccine given to their children was experimental (posed by model)
Argentina’s National Medicine, Food and Medical Technology Administration is examining whether there the vaccine is connected in any way with the youngsters’ deaths.
A U. S. spokesman for GSK, Sarah Alspach, said the company did not believe the deaths were linked to the vaccine.
Synflorix is also being tested in Panama, Chile and some European countries, but it is not being tested in Britain.
Miss Alspach said that an independent board monitoring participants’ safety recommended that the Latin American trials be temporarily suspended, but then gave its approval for tests to resume.
’We rely on their safety review,’ she said. ’Safety is our primary concern, always, with the development of any new treatment.’
More than 19,000 babies have received at least one dose of Synflorix, which GSK plans to test on a total of 24,000 infants, she said.

GlaxoSmithKline Plc’s rotavirus vaccine is associated with increased pneumonia-related deaths and other adverse reactions, U.S. regulatory staff said in documents posted on Friday.
The review comes ahead of a Food and Drug Administration advisory meeting next Wednesday to consider approval of the oral vaccine to prevent the most common cause of severe diarrhea and dehydration among infants and young children in the world.
FDA staff said its analysis of 11 studies revealed that in the largest trial, there was a statistically significant increase in deaths related to pneumonia compared with placebo, documents posted on the FDA’s Web site said.
