Cop Admits Stopping Car Over Ron Paul Bumper Stickers
Steve Watson
Infowars.net
August 4, 2008
In the new America an endorsement of Congressman Ron Paul now gives the police probable cause to pull you over, ask you for identification and search your vehicle.
Much to their surprise Rick and Ingrid, friends from Las Vegas, discovered this recently when police pulled them over and cited a Ron Paul and an Infowars bumper sticker on the back of their car as having aroused suspicion.
The couple sent the following email explaining their experience:
It was late afternoon here Las Vegas and we were pulling into Sam’s Town Casino and Hotel. As we were pulling into the parking lot of Sam’s Town we heard what sounded like a fog horn type of horn. Anyway since I never have heard a police siren like that I figured it was some guy who was in a hurry going no where honking his weird horn. We drove a little further and we saw the colored lights of the police in the rear window. They were pulling us
over!!!!We pulled over and stopped and the police car pulled behind us. There were two officers in the car, one of the officers got out on the drivers side of the police car and walked over to my friends window (the drivers side) and he (my friend) asked the officer is there problem and he responded by saying “I just want to know what is going on”. Next he wanted to see his ID and had he ever been arrested. He did not ask for the registration to the car or for proof of insurance. I thought that was strange since every officer I ever encountered wanted to see all of the paperwork.
Then he asked for my ID, and I handed it to him. Right after that another officer shows up on the passenger side and asked for my ID, I told him I gave it to the other officer and he said “Don’t you have more than one ID”.? I said no only one. Then they told us get out of the car and put our hands behind our backs, and to stand in front of the police car.
We complied with their request and never once gave them any trouble. Then one of the officers called me back to the side of the car, said he wanted to talk to me. He asked me if there was anything illegal in this car, I said no. He said you had better being telling the truth because we are going to search this car. He then asked where we were before we came here, I replied we just came from Big Lots shopping. Well, Alex they (the police) started searching my friend and myself. They then they went to the car and told us to stay there and not turn around. In the meantime Sam’s Town security joined the cop sand they were eager to play “Lap Dogs” for the cops. Finally they emerged from the car and told us we could go now.
As we are walking to the car one officer comes walking towards me and says “You know why we had to do this right”?
I said pardon me officer, I don’t know understand, he then repeated it. Then he pointed at our RON PAUL and INFOWARS stickers on our car. I was going to question his actions but my friend said let’s just go. Our stickers are still on the car and will remain there.
Sincerely,
Rick and Ingrid from Las Vegas.

McCain says only World War III would justify draft
Reuters
June 25, 2008
Only World War III would prompt Republican presidential candidate John McCain to bring back the military draft, McCain said on Tuesday.
Many Americans are fearful the U.S. government will be forced to reinstitute the draft given the prolonged Iraq and Afghanistan wars.
Asked about that possibility by a potential voter in Florida during a telephone “town hall meeting,” McCain said: “I don’t know what would make a draft happen unless we were in an all-out World War III.”
The United States ended its last military draft in 1973 in the waning years of the Vietnam war, moving to an all-volunteer military force.
McCain, a Vietnam veteran, said the draft during that conflict weighed most heavily on lower-income Americans, and that this should not be repeated.
“I do not believe the draft is even practicable or desirable,” McCain said.

Fox ambushes Ron Paul with ‘9/11 Truthers’ question

“Well, it doesn’t do me any good,” answered Paul, “so if they care about me they should, but the only thing I have control over is what I believe and what I say. I can’t tell them what to do. … So please, could I participate in the current debate …”
This remark was met with cheers and applause, and Paul went on to argue that the Republican Party has lost its way.
“I don’t think we’re fiscal conservatives any more,” Paul stated. “Look at what we’ve done over these last 10 years. We finally got control of the government, and we became big government people. … And then we turn around and we talk about liberty, and we’ve undermined the Fourth Amendment and personal liberty and personal privacy. … We’re policing the world … at the same time our economy is suffering. … So no wonder our coalition is breaking up. We actually have lost our way.”

Ron Paul: 9/11 Commission ‘Hid Ineptness’ Just as Most Government Investigations Usually Do
Warns that fighting a war “for no good reason” will lead to a draft, expansion of troop numbers and a collapse of the dollar
Jones Report
January 10, 2008
Reporters from WeAreChange.org confronted Ron Paul in a New Hampshire spin room about supporting victim’s family members in pursuing a new 9/11 investigation. “Yes, I support more investigation,” Paul responded.
The Presidential candidate indicated that the full truth was still not known “because ineptness was hidden” in the 9/11 Commission investigation.
“This is generally what government investigations do,” Ron Paul said. “They hide inefficiencies and ineptness.”
He further criticized those in charge who “can’t and won’t admit” that the country is “fighting a war for no good reason.” “They’ve dug their heels in and they’ll lose everything they’ve said,” he said about war hawks.
Paul commented that Giuliani’s intention to expand the military by 200,000 troops would lead to a draft and the printing of more money. “Get ready. They’re going to draft you– all you young people,” Paul warned.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fH9nOWnp5G0
“They’ll print it and the dollar will go bust– and everyone going to get poor– and then we’ll bring our troops home. I don’t want to wait to that point I want them bring home in a more logical fashion,” Paul said.
Other reporters asked about Giuliani’s odd dismissal of history as a factor in current middle-east foreign policy. “He’s been saying that for a long time,” Paul told cameras, “but I’ve given my explanation and I bet a majority of Americans agree with me.”
Giuliani and his advisors have consistently refused to even discuss foreign policy or address the consequences it could have.
WeAreChange.org asked Norman Podhoretz— a Giuliani advisor– about the U.S.-led overthrow of Iran in 1953. Podhoretz dismissed the incident as “ancient history,” when reporters brought up its impact in current tensions. Yet, Podhoretz advocates a pre-emptive strike on Iran.
Ron Paul also addressed his concerns about the emerging North American Union, stating that “there are people who would like to have it, like a European Union.” But, he said, “the American people are waking up to this and are resisting it.” Paul urged people to “join the Ron Paul Revolution.”
Ron Paul has been the only presidential candidate unafraid to stand up to WeAreChange.org questions and give an explanation without avoiding the issues. Others on the campaign trail have deflected or even run away.
It isin’t Ron Paul’s nature to police 9/11 Truther’s viewpoints

Sen. Hagel says U.S. draft may be unavoidable
Omaha World Herald
November 6, 2007
LINCOLN — Sen. Chuck Hagel, speaking to audience of Lincoln High School students, warned Tuesday that the nation may need to turn to compulsory military service “or some kind of draft” to support the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Questioned after his speech, Hagel, R-Neb., said he is not calling for reinstatement of the military draft.
But he said the growing difficulty of maintaining an adequate volunteer military force is “a reality.”
“I’m just stating the obvious. At some point we’re going to have to make a decision on how to attract a quality force,” he said.
Hagel, a Vietnam veteran and Purple Heart recipient, spoke to more than 120 government and history students as part of a project to have veterans speak to students about their experiences.
The U.S. military draft ended in 1973, part of the bitter reaction to the Vietnam War.

Relative of Merrill Lynch Founder Predicts Stock Market Crash
Kerri Panchuk
DSNews
October 30, 2007
In a market where fears over the subprime shakedown are spreading pessimism nationwide, Charles Merrill, the cousin of the man who founded Merrill Lynch & Co., is predicting a stock market crash that will put the 1929 crash to shame.
Merrill, in an exclusive interview with a financial author, said, “There is going to be a major stock market crash, so protect your assets. Buy physical gold and hide it.”
Merrill also discussed all the changes at Merrill Lynch that indicate a potential market crises—even alluding to the company’s chief executive officer, who stepped down this week.
“Merrill Lynch is crashing, due to the ineptness of the CEO,” Merrill said. “No matter who is running Merrill Lynch & Co., it’s going to need a regimen of restraint and recuperation after getting badly bruised by the global credit market shakedown. I predict a house of dominos, and the whole stock market is going to crash.”
Lynch’s less-than-encouraging remarks were part of an interview with writer Michael Grace, who is writing a book called, “The Final Great Depression.”
During the interview, Merrill concluded, “There is so much wealth in Palm Springs … from inherited to funny money, and I’m advising my friends to buy gold. Grace’s book on the ‘final depression’ sounds like a novel or fantasy but unfortunately it is a picture of our horrible future here in America. My cousin Charlie must be turning over in his grave.”
Oil Crisis in Summer ’09: War in Iran. Gasoline rationing. A military draft. A Chinese takeover of Taiwan. Double-digit inflation and unemployment
Herald Tribune
November 2, 2007
WASHINGTON: War in Iran. Gasoline rationing. A military draft. A Chinese takeover of Taiwan. Double-digit inflation and unemployment. The draining of the strategic petroleum reserve.
This is where current energy policy is going in the United States, according to a nightmare scenario played out as a policy-making exercise on Thursday by a group of former top government officials.
Two bipartisan business-supported groups sponsored an elaborately staged role-playing game called Oil ShockWave that tried to dramatize the effect of American dependence on oil imported from unstable and unfriendly parts of the world.
The organizers have an agenda: They hope to prompt Congress to act on energy legislation and to push the issue into the presidential campaign.
CDS traders warn of ‘blood on streets’
BBC
October 27, 2007
The mood in credit derivatives markets turned ugly on Thursday, with the cost of insuring corporate debt hitting multi-week highs on both sides of the Atlantic.
Speculation was rife that leading major investment banks were facing additional losses linked to complex mortgage-backed securities, while worries mounted over the health of major financial guarantors.
“It’s scary out there — there’s blood on the streets,” a trader at a US brokerage said. “It’s a real mess.”
In the US, the perceived risk of owning corporate debt jumped to a seven-week high, with the cost to insure a $10m portfolio of investment-grade debt reaching $67,000, data from Phoenix Partners Group showed.
Confidence in Citigroup and Merrill Lynch, as measured by their credit default swaps, slumped to lows not seen since the height of the credit squeeze in August.
Five-year credit default swaps tied to Citigroup widened to 60 basis points, meaning it cost $60,000 annually to insure Citigroup’s debt against default for five years. A couple of weeks ago, that figure stood at $27,000.
Contracts on Merrill Lynch, which last week posted the largest quarterly loss in its 93-year history, rose $18,000 to $103,000. CDS on UBS rose 10bp to 51bp, Deutsche Bank said. The contracts stood at about 6bp in May. Contracts on Credit Suisse rose 4bp to 52bp from 10bp in June.
Bond insurers, or monolines, were also hit hard.
“[These triple-A rated companies are] exposed to the crumbling housing market,” said Gavan Nolan, an analyst at derivatives data provider Markit. “Investors in monolines will be waiting for the coming months of housing data with trepidation,” Mr Nolan said.
CDS on MBIA Insurance rocketed to a four-year high, of 345bp, CMA Datavision said.
Last week the insurer posted $36.6m net loss and halted its share buy-back programme.
Contracts on the bond insurance unit of Ambac Financial climbed to a five-year high of 310bp.
Gimme Credit, an independent research term, downgraded both MBIA and Ambac this week.
In Europe, the iTraxx Crossover index of 50 mostly high-yield companies widened by 18 bp to 338bp, the biggest rise since August, according to Deutsche Bank data.
The iTraxx Europe index, which tracks 125 investment-grade companies, rose 3.75bp to 41bp. It was the biggest one-day jump since early September.

Congress Wants Military Draft Reinstated
Ron Paul
Lew Rockwell
September 21, 2007
A Pentagon report stated that draft registration could be eliminated “with no effect on military mobilization and no measurable effect on military recruitment.”
Most military experts believe a draft would actually impair military readiness, despite the increase in raw manpower, because of training and morale problems.
So why is the idea of a draft even considered?
One answer is that our military forces are spread far too thin, engaged in conflicts around the globe that are none of our business.
With hundreds of thousands of troops stationed in literally hundreds of foreign nations, we simply don’t have enough soldiers to invade and occupy every country labeled a threat or deemed ripe for regime change.
Given the choice, many in Congress would rather draft more young bodies than rethink our role as world policeman and bring some of our troops home.
Military needs aside, some politicians simply love the thought of mandatory service to the federal government.
The political Right favors sending young people to fight in aggressive wars like Iraq.
The political Left longs to send young people into harm’s way to save the world in places like Darfur.
But both sides share the same belief that citizens should serve the needs of the state – a belief our Founders clearly rejected in the Declaration of Independence.
To many politicians, the American government is America. This is why, on a crude level, the draft appeals to patriotic fervor.
Compulsory national service, whether in the form of military conscription or make-work programs like AmeriCorps, still sells on Capitol Hill.
Conscription is wrongly associated with patriotism, when really it represents collectivism and involuntary servitude.
I believe wholeheartedly that an all-volunteer military is not only sufficient for national defense, but also preferable.
It is time to abolish the Selective Service System and resign military conscription to the dustbin of American history.
Five hundred million dollars have been wasted on Selective Service since 1979, money that could have been returned to taxpayers or spent to improve the lives of our nation’s veterans.
Ronald Reagan said it best: “The most fundamental objection to draft registration is moral.”
The notion of involuntary servitude, in whatever form, is simply incompatible with a free society.

White House Ally & Ex-CIA Director Hints At Iraq War & Occupation One Day After 9/11
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-304381368207411538&hl=en
Former CIA director and ‘Project For A New American Century’ member James Woolsey suggests a war with and occupation of Iraq within 24 hours of the 9/11 attacks.
The ‘Project For A New American Century’ one year earlier had cited the need for ‘a new Pearl Harbor’ in order to implement the growth of the U.S. military and its eventual penetration into the oil rich middle east.
Perhaps not coincidentally, 2 years after 9/11, the U.S. waged war with Iraq and 4 years after the start of this war the U.S. now militarily occupies Iraq.
Hardball: Pro-war vet says we invaded Iraq because we needed it as a base
Raw Story
August 16, 2007
Chris Matthews presented a debate Tuesday over reviving the draft between conservative Iraq War veteran Mark Finelli and veteran John Bruhns of Americans Against Escalation in Iraq.
Finelli started off by arguing that the war effort has been poorly planned and poorly equipped because the “elite of this country don’t have a vested personal interest in winning the war.” He stated his belief that if the middle class was subject to a draft, the excuse that “we don’t have enough money” for proper equipment would no longer be heard.
“George Bush took us into war on a fallacy,” Bruhns began. “He took us in there under-equipped — I totally agree with Mark on that — under-manned, no plan to win the peace. He managed the war with utter incompetence.” However, when asked if a draft might bring a quick end to the war, Bruhns replied, “Over 70% of the American people are against this war. I could not endorse trying to force people to go over and fight George Bush’s war against their will.”
“The reason why 70% of the American public is against the war is because we’re not winning decisively,” insisted Finelli. In seeming contradiction to his earlier argument in favor of a draft, he added, “The surge is working, and I could tell America this: If you don’t want a draft, let us finish the job there. … If we leave Iraq, the next terrorist attack in this country is going to be far more devastating than September 11th ever was.”
Bruhns pointed out that even Secretary of Defense Gates recently said that “the purpose of the surge was so that we could have a political reconciliation,” but that now seems “almost impossible.”
“What does victory look like?” Matthews then asked, setting off an extraordinary interchange between him and Finelli.
“After September 11th, we did have 20,000 troops in Saudi Arabia; we were asked to leave,” Finelli said. “Essentially, bin Laden was restoring the caliphate. He’s dictating to the American people where our troops can and cannot be. Operation Iraqi Freedom is essentially about that. So victory essentially is maintaining our geopolitical …”
“You mean we needed a country to base our troops in so we took over Iraq?” asked Matthews.
“Essentially, yes,” agreed Finelli.
“That’s a pretty frightening admission on the part of a warhawk!” exclaimed Matthews. “We went there because we wanted a country we could use as a base in a very imperial way!”
“I’m not going to debate that — but zero terrorist attacks in the country for five years,” said Finelli. “Zero. And this is a major reason why.”
Matthews then referred to a new CBS poll which showed that Americans “three to one, roughly, believe the more we fight in Iraq, the more terrorists we create. … There’s very few countries in that part of the world we don’t control. Can’t you imagine, from their perspective … don’t they see us coming?”
“They were coming after us anyway,” said Finelli.
“Who’s they?” asked Matthews, pointing out that the 9/11 hijackers all came from countries that are our allies, but “now we go attack the one country that they didn’t come from.”
Asked to offer a final observation, Bruhns said earnestly, “Chris, we’ve got to end this war. We’ve got to find a way out. … I want to bring our troops home.” However, Finelli couldn’t resist jumping in to get the last word, saying, “a draft is inevitable if you run.”
The following video is from MSNBC’s Hardball, broadcast on August 14.

Bush War Adviser Supports Considering a Military Draft
Associated Press

WASHINGTON — Frequent tours for U.S. forces in Iraq and Afghanistan have stressed the all-volunteer force and made it worth considering a return to a military draft, President Bush’s new war adviser said Friday.
“I think it makes sense to certainly consider it,” Army Lt. Gen. Douglas Lute said in an interview with National Public Radio’s “All Things Considered.”
“And I can tell you, this has always been an option on the table. But ultimately, this is a policy matter between meeting the demands for the nation’s security by one means or another,” Lute added in his first interview since he was confirmed by the Senate in June.
President Nixon abolished the draft in 1973. Restoring it, Lute said, would be a “major policy shift” and Bush has made it clear that he doesn’t think it’s necessary.
The repeated deployments affect not only the troops but their families, who can influence whether a service member decides to stay in the military, Lute said.
“There’s both a personal dimension of this, where this kind of stress plays out across dinner tables and in living room conversations within these families,” he said. “And ultimately, the health of the all-volunteer force is going to rest on those sorts of personal family decisions.”
The military conducted a draft during the Civil War and both world wars and between 1948 and 1973. The Selective Service System, re-established in 1980, maintains a registry of 18-year-old men.
Rep. Charles Rangel, D-N.Y., has called for reinstating the draft as a way to end the Iraq war.
Bush picked Lute in mid-May as a deputy national security adviser with responsibility for ensuring efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan are coordinated with policymakers in Washington. Lute, an active-duty general, was chosen after several retired generals turned down the job.
Former Reagan Official: Bush May Stage False Flag Events To Reinstate Draft
“Would a government that has lied us into two wars and is working to lie us into an attack on Iran shrink from staging “terrorist” attacks in order to remove opposition to its agenda?” asks Roberts

Former Assistant Secretary of the Treasury in the Reagan administration Paul Craig Roberts has gone further than ever before, warning that the Bush administration could be about to stage false flag events and terror attacks in order to reinstate the draft, announce a dictatorship and attack Iran.
Roberts has been dubbed the “Father of Reaganomics” and is also a former editor and columnist for the Wall Street Journal, Business Week, and Scripps Howard News Service.
In his weekly syndicated column, Roberts suggests that unfolding events and the nature of the rhetoric emanating from government quarters suggests that a major staged terror attack could be just around the corner.
“Ask yourself: Would a government that has lied us into two wars and is working to lie us into an attack on Iran shrink from staging “terrorist” attacks in order to remove opposition to its agenda?” writes Roberts.
If the Bush administration wants to continue its wars in the Middle East and to entrench the “unitary executive” at home, it will have to conduct some false flag operations that will both frighten and anger the American people and make them accept Bush’s declaration of “national emergency” and the return of the draft. Alternatively, the administration could simply allow any real terrorist plot to proceed without hindrance.
A series of staged or permitted attacks would be spun by the captive media as a vindication of the neoconsevatives’ Islamophobic policy, the intention of which is to destroy all Middle Eastern governments that are not American puppet states. Success would give the US control over oil, but the main purpose is to eliminate any resistance to Israel’s complete absorption of Palestine into Greater Israel.
Think about it. If another 9/11-type “security failure” were not in the works, why would Homeland Security czar Chertoff go to the trouble of convincing the Chicago Tribune that Americans have become complacent about terrorist threats and that he has “a gut feeling” that America will soon be hit hard?
Roberts concludes that coming “terrorist” events within the next year will be the means for overthrowing constitutional democracy unless Congress moves to impeach Bush and Cheney immediately.

Roberts’ warning is dovetailed by a series of high profile individuals expressing the need for more terror as the only recourse for saving a doomed foreign policy and reversing anti-war sentiment in the U.S. that is now dominating the country.
In a July 8 Toronto Star piece, Lt.-Col. Doug Delaney, chair of the war studies program at the Royal Military College in Kingston, Ontario, said that “The key to bolstering Western resolve is another terrorist attack like 9/11 or the London transit bombings of two years ago.”
“If nothing happens, it will be harder still to say this [the occupation of Iraq] is necessary,” he added.
Delaney’s comments are in a similar vein to former Republican Senator Rick Santorum’s statements to a radio show last weekend, in which he said that “unfortunate events” would occur along the lines of the recent car bomb attempts in the UK, that will change American’s views of the war.
Last month, the new chairman of the Arkansas Republican Party Dennis Milligan said that there needed to be more attacks on American soil for President Bush to regain popular approval.
Yearning for more terror was also explicitly expressed in a 2005 GOP memo, which hankered for new attacks that would “validate” the President’s war on terror and “restore his image as a leader of the American people.”
It seems painfully clear that the Neo-Cons are still obsessed with the notion of using staged terror as the only ultimate means of facilitating their dark agenda, and that thousands and potentially millions of Americans could be about to pay with their lives to realize such a nightmare.
