Czech President Vaclav Klaus sharply criticized a U.N. meeting on climate change on Tuesday at which U.S. President Barack Obama was among the top speakers, describing it as propagandistic and undignified.
“It was sad and it was frustrating,” said Klaus, one of the world’s most vocal skeptics on the topic of global warming.
“It’s a propagandistic exercise where 13-year-old girls from some far-away country perform a pre-rehearsed poem,” he said. “It’s simply not dignified.”
At the opening of the summit attended by nearly 100 world leaders, 13-year-old Yugratna Srivastava of India told the audience that governments were not doing enough to combat the threat of climate change.
Klaus said there were increasing doubts in the scientific community about whether humans are causing changes in the climate or whether the changes are simply naturally occurring phenomena.
But politicians, he said, seem to be moving closer to a consensus on climate change.
“The train can’t be stopped and I consider that a huge mistake,” Klaus said.
U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon organized the climate summit to help create momentum before a U.N. meeting in Copenhagen in December to reach agreement on new targets for reducing so-called greenhouse gas emissions.
However, new proposals by China and a rallying cry from U.S. President Barack Obama did little to break a U.N. deadlock about what should be done.
Klaus published a book in 2007 on the worldwide campaign to stop climate change entitled “Blue Planet in Green Chains: What Is Under Threat — Climate or Freedom?”
In the book, Klaus said global warming has turned into a new religion, an ideology that threatens to undermine freedom and the world’s economic and social order.

The American Physical Society, an organization representing nearly 50,000 physicists, has reversed its stance on climate change and is now proclaiming that many of its members disbelieve in human-induced global warming. The APS is also sponsoring public debate on the validity of global warming science. The leadership of the society had previously called the evidence for global warming “incontrovertible.”
In a posting to the APS forum, editor Jeffrey Marque explains,”There is a considerable presence within the scientific community of people who do not agree with the IPCC conclusion that anthropogenic CO2 emissions are very probably likely to be primarily responsible for global warming that has occurred since the Industrial Revolution.”
The APS is opening its debate with the publication of a paper by Lord Monckton of Brenchley, which concludes that climate sensitivity — the rate of temperature change a given amount of greenhouse gas will cause — has been grossly overstated by IPCC modeling. A low sensitivity implies additional atmospheric CO2 will have little effect on global climate.
Larry Gould, Professor of Physics at the University of Hartford and Chairman of the New England Section of the APS, called Monckton’s paper an “expose of the IPCC that details numerous exaggerations and “extensive errors”
In an email to DailyTech, Monckton says, “I was dismayed to discover that the IPCC’s 2001 and 2007 reports did not devote chapters to the central ’climate sensitivity’ question, and did not explain in proper, systematic detail the methods by which they evaluated it. When I began to investigate, it seemed that the IPCC was deliberately concealing and obscuring its method.”
According to Monckton, there is substantial support for his results, “in the peer-reviewed literature, most articles on climate sensitivity conclude, as I have done, that climate sensitivity must be harmlessly low.”
Monckton, who was the science advisor to Britain’s Thatcher administration, says natural variability is the cause of most of the Earth’s recent warming. “In the past 70 years the Sun was more active than at almost any other time in the past 11,400 years … Mars, Jupiter, Neptune’s largest moon, and Pluto warmed at the same time as Earth.”

The world is cooling, sea levels are falling, ice is spreading, there are fewer extreme weather events, and it was hotter 1000 years ago, yet the myth of global warming is providing governments the excuse to micromanage every aspect of our lives, with Al Gore now openly calling for a carbon tax on the energy we use.
Following the end of the Sun’s most active period in over 11,000 years, the last 10 years have displayed a clear cooling trend as temperatures post-1998 leveled out and are now plummeting.
But such figures won’t deter the agenda of control freaks like Al Gore, who last night publicly called for a carbon tax to be imposed on the use of fossil fuels at a time when even middle class families are struggling to pay the bills as a result of a crippled economy, soaring oil prices and inflation.
Andrew Bolt of the Australian Sun-Herald has put together a series of graphs based on numbers from a plethora of scientific bodies to prove that the most alarmist claims about climate change are not only unproven, but in fact the complete opposite of what man-made global warming advocates proclaim is now being observed.
“That’s why 31,000 other scientists, including world figures such as physicist Prof Freeman Dyson, atmospheric physicist Prof Richard Lindzen and climate scientist Prof Fred Singer, issued a joint letter last month warning governments not to jump on board the global warming bandwagon,” writes Bolt.
“There is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gases is causing or will, in the foreseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the earth’s atmosphere and disruption of the earth’s climate.”
That’s why Ivar Glaever, who won a Nobel Prize for Physics, this month declared “I am a sceptic”, because “we don’t really know what the actual effect on the climate is”.
And it’s why the American Physical Society this month said “there is a considerable presence within the scientific community of people who do not agree with the (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) conclusion that anthropogenic CO2 emissions are very probably likely to be primarily responsible for the global warming that has occurred since the Industrial Revolution.”
The first graph, obtained from the Hadley Centre of Britain’s Meteorological Office, shows how temperatures dropped, leveled off, and are now displaying a clear cooling trend, since their 1998 peak which was caused by the “El Nino” weather phenomenon, which is completely natural and has nothing to do with CO2 emissions.

The figures mesh with anecdotal evidence of a cooling pattern – China recently experienced its coldest winter in 100 years while northeast America was hit by record snow levels and Britain suffered its coldest April in decades as late-blooming daffodils were pounded with hail and snow on an almost daily basis. The British summer has also left many yearning for global warming, with temperatures in June and July rarely struggling to get over 16 degrees and on one occasion even dropping as low as 9 degrees in the middle of the afternoon.
A common claim of behalf of Al Gore and the Church of Environmentalism, and one vividly portrayed in the Hollywood movie The Day After Tomorrow, is a predicted catastrophic rise in sea levels as a result of global warming.
In actual fact, figures from the Colorado Centre For Astrodynamics Research show that global sea levels, after having risen since 2000, have been falling significantly over the last 2 years.
In addition, according to the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, sea ice has grown rapidly in that same time frame and there is now more ice in the world than usually observed.

Another common cry from the alarmists is the contention that global warming is causing extreme weather events. Despite there having been far more violent and devastating weather events before the post World War 2 rise in CO2 levels, every flood, hurricane, tornado or cyclone is blamed on human-induced climate change.
The facts tell a different story. According to the American Meteorological Society, global warming hasn’t given us more cyclones, hurricanes, or tornados.
Furthermore, scaremongering about droughts attributed the global warming is disproved by the fact that levels of rainfall have increased.
Hysterical phony environmentalists like to imagine that the world has never been hotter, despite the fact that the planet has violently swung between extremes of temperature for eons.
New figures from the US National Council for Air and Stream Improvement debunk the IPCC’s notoriously controversial “hockey stick” graph and illustrate that the earth was a warmer place 1000 years ago. During such times, farmers in Greenland grew crops and even cultivated vineyards on a land mass that is now over 80% ice covered.
Despite evidence pouring in that the planet has naturally turned course and now embarked on a cooling trend, wild rhetoric, fearmongering, lecturing and bullying about the necessity for us to accept intrusions into our rights of mobility, privacy and behavior in the interests of saving the earth is at an all time high.
Global corporations and governments have joined forces to launch a united propaganda assault about how we must turn “green” while all the real environmental crises – deforestation, GM crops, chemtrails, genetic splicing, and cancer-causing cellphone tower radiation – are completely ignored.

The campaign to force people to accept that “the debate is over” and that man-made CO2 emissions are driving climate change is in deep trouble, with another top global warming advocate – rocket scientist and carbon accounting expert Dr. Richard Evans – completely reversing his position.
Evans was a consultant to the Australian Greenhouse Office from 1999 to 2005 and he wrote the carbon accounting model (FullCAM) that measures Australia’s compliance with the Kyoto Protocol.
In an article for The Australian newspaper, Evans highlights why he was so keen to jump on board the man-made explanation without there being any clear conclusion as to what was driving temperature increases in the period from the end of the 70’s to 1998.
“The evidence was not conclusive, but why wait until we were certain when it appeared we needed to act quickly?” writes Evans. “Soon government and the scientific community were working together and lots of science research jobs were created. We scientists had political support, the ear of government, big budgets, and we felt fairly important and useful (well, I did anyway). It was great. We were working to save the planet.”
“But since 1999 new evidence has seriously weakened the case that carbon emissions are the main cause of global warming, and by 2007 the evidence was pretty conclusive that carbon played only a minor role and was not the main cause of the recent global warming,” he concludes.
Evans points out that the “greenhouse signature” that would indicate CO2 emissions are driving temperature increases – “a hot spot about 10km up in the atmosphere over the tropics” – which would be evident if climate change was man-made, is simply non-existent.
“If there is no hot spot then an increased greenhouse effect is not the cause of global warming. So we know for sure that carbon emissions are not a significant cause of the global warming,” he writes.
Evans highlights data collected from satellites positioned around the globe that indicates temperatures have dropped about 0.6C in the past year – back to 1980 levels. Such figures are complimented by anecdotal evidence of a cooling pattern – China recently experienced its coldest winter in 100 years while northeast America was hit by record snow levels and Britain suffered its coldest April in decades as late-blooming daffodils were pounded with hail and snow on an almost daily basis.
Evans also cites historical climate change and the fact that CO2 does not cause, but in fact lags behind temperature increase by as much as 800 years.
“The new ice cores show that in the past six global warmings over the past half a million years, the temperature rises occurred on average 800 years before the accompanying rise in atmospheric carbon. Which says something important about which was cause and which was effect,” he writes.
“The last point was known and past dispute by 2003, yet Al Gore made his movie in 2005 and presented the ice cores as the sole reason for believing that carbon emissions cause global warming. In any other political context our cynical and experienced press corps would surely have called this dishonest and widely questioned the politician’s assertion,” writes Evans.
Two Peer-Reviewed Scientific Papers Debunk CO2 Myth

Three top scientists have once again contradicted the claim that a “consensus” exists about man-made global warming with research that indicates CO2 emissions actually cool the atmosphere, in addition to another peer-reviewed paper that documents how the IPCC overstated CO2’s effect on temperature by as much as 2000 per cent.
Professor George Chilingar and Leonid Khilyuk of the University of Southern California, and Oleg Sorokhtin of the Institute of Oceanology of the Russian Academy of Sciences have released a study that they claim completely contradicts the link between CO2 and global temperature increases.
“The writers investigated the effect of CO2 emission on the temperature of atmosphere. Computations based on the adiabatic theory of greenhouse effect show that increasing CO2 concentration in the atmosphere results in cooling rather than warming of the Earth’s atmosphere,” states the preamble to the paper.
The full study, which appears in the Energy Sources journal, is sure to cause ire amongst climate cult adherants.
No global warming has been observed for the past 10 years as temperatures have gradually declined and studies indicate that there will be no further warming for the next 10 years.
In a related development, the peer-reviewed Physics and Society journal has published evidence proving that the UN IPCC’s 2007 climate summary “overstated CO2’s impact on temperature by 500-2000%.”
According to the paper, “Computer models used by the UN’s climate panel (IPCC) were pre-programmed with overstated values for the three variables whose product is “climate sensitivity” (temperature increase in response to greenhouse-gas increase), resulting in a 500-2000% overstatement of CO2’s effect on temperature in the IPCC’s latest climate assessment report, published in 2007.”
The paper also outlines evidence to confirm that Mars, Jupiter, Neptune’s largest moon, and Pluto warmed at the same time as Earth warmed, a factor attributed to the Sun having been more active than at almost any other time in the past 11,400 years.
The paper concludes, “CO2 enrichment will add little more than 1 °F (0.6 °C) to global mean surface temperature by 2100.”

Dark spots, some as large as 50,000 miles in diameter, typically move across the surface of the sun, contracting and expanding as they go. These strange and powerful phenomena are known as sunspots, but now they are all gone. Not even solar physicists know why it’s happening and what this odd solar silence might be indicating for our future.
Although periods of inactivity are normal for the sun, this current period has gone on much longer than usual and scientists are starting to worry—at least a little bit. Recently 100 scientists from Europe, Asia, Latin America, Africa and North America gathered to discuss the issue at an international solar conference at Montana State University. Today’s sun is as inactive as it was two years ago, and solar physicists don’t have a clue as to why.
“It continues to be dead,” said Saku Tsuneta with the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan, program manager for the Hinode solar mission, noting that it is at least a little bit worrisome for scientists.
Dana Longcope, a solar physicist at MSU, said the sun usually operates on an 11-year cycle with maximum activity occurring in the middle of the cycle. The last cycle reached its peak in 2001 and is believed to be just ending now, Longcope said. The next cycle is just beginning and is expected to reach its peak sometime around 2012. But so far nothing is happening.
“It’s a dead face,” Tsuneta said of the sun’s appearance.
Tsuneta said solar physicists aren’t weather forecasters and they can’t predict the future. They do have the ability to observe, however, and they have observed a longer-than-normal period of solar inactivity. In the past, they observed that the sun once went 50 years without producing sunspots. That period coincided with a little ice age on Earth that lasted from 1650 to 1700. Coincidence? Some scientists say it was, but many worry that it wasn’t.
Geophysicist Phil Chapman, the first Australian to become an astronaut with NASA, said pictures from the US Solar and Heliospheric Observatory also show that there are currently no spots on the sun. He also noted that the world cooled quickly between January last year and January this year, by about 0.7C.
“This is the fastest temperature change in the instrumental record, and it puts us back to where we were in 1930,” Dr Chapman noted in The Australian recently.
If the world does face another mini Ice Age, it could come without warning. Evidence for abrupt climate change is readily found in ice cores taken from Greenland and Antarctica. One of the best known examples of such an event is the Younger Dryas cooling, which occurred about 12,000 years ago, named after the arctic wildflower found in northern European sediments. This event began and ended rather abruptly, and for its entire 1000 year duration the North Atlantic region was about 5°C colder. Could something like this happen again? There’s no way to tell, and because the changes can happen all within one decade—we might not even see it coming.
The Younger Dryas occurred at a time when orbital forcing should have continued to drive climate to the present warm state. The unexplained phenomenon has been the topic of much intense scientific debate, as well as other millennial scale events.
Now this 11-year low in Sunspot activity has raised fears among a small but growing number of scientists that rather than getting warmer, the Earth could possibly be about to return to another cooling period. The idea is especially intriguing considering that most of the world is in preparation for global warming.
Canadian scientist Kenneth Tapping of the National Research Council has also noted that solar activity has entered into an unusually inactive phase, but what that means—if anything—is still anyone’s guess. Another solar scientist, Oleg Sorokhtin, a fellow of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, however, is certain that it’s an indication of a coming cooling period.
Sorokhtin believes that a lack of sunspots does indicate a coming cooling period based on certain past trends and early records. In fact, he calls manmade climate change “a drop in the bucket” compared to the fierce and abrupt cold that can potentially be brought on by inactive solar phases.
Sorokhtin’s advice: “Stock up on fur coats”…just in case.

Senate Republicans on Friday blocked a global warming bill that would have required major reductions in greenhouse gases, pushing debate over the world’s biggest environmental concern to next year for a new Congress and president.
Democratic leaders fell a dozen votes short of getting the 60 needed to end a Republican filibuster on the measure and bring the bill up for a vote, prompting Majority Leader Harry Reid to pull the legislation from consideration.
The Senate debate focused on bitter disagreement over the expected economic costs of putting a price on carbon dioxide, the leading greenhouse gas that comes from burning fossil fuels. Opponents said it would lead to higher energy costs.
“It’s just the beginning for us,” proclaimed Sen. Barbara Boxer, D- Calif., a chief sponsor of the bill, noting that 54 senators had expressed support of the legislation, although that’s still short of what would be needed to overcome concerted GOP opposition.
“It’s clear a majority of Congress wants to act,” Boxer said at a news conference.

The bill otherwise known as America’s Climate Security Act of 2007 or S 2191 will give the Environmental Protection Agency draconian powers to implement a carbon credit system here in the United States. This will effectively make it more difficult for small and medium sized businesses to compete with the large multinational corporations who will have the resources to deal with this ridiculous enslavement tax. The threat of man made carbon emissions causing global warming is a documented fraud. The fact that the corporate controlled media can continue to promote this huge lie as propaganda to pass this carbon credit initiative is utterly insane.
According to the Seattle Post Intelligencer, debate is scheduled to begin on this legislation next week.
For years the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works was the burial ground for legislation addressing among other things coal powered electricity generation. The U.S. has about a quarter of the world’s known supply of coal and coal is the primary source of electricity in this country. (Hydroelectric power is not as prominent elsewhere as in this region.) It is commonly said that reducing the emissions of coal used to generate electricity is vital to controlling greenhouse gas emissions here. Most seem to believe that this is the cornerstone to any effective policy. In December the committee, with a Democratic majority, passed America’s Climate Security Act of 2007 and the bill will be debated in the Senate next week.
The Republicans are split on this bill. Larry Craig and other Republicans did all he could to prevent the bill from getting out of committee. The bill though is sponsored by Joe Lieberman and John Warner. (Warner is on the committee.)
Even though there is absolutely no difference between the Republicans and the Democrats, it is pretty clear that the establishment is hell bent on pushing this thing through. The majority of Democrats are going to support this bill and if the Republicans are split on this bill, it means it will pass the U.S. Senate relatively easy. It doesn’t matter that the vast majority of Americans oppose the measures in this bill. The establishment wants this carbon credit initiative passed so they can effectively enslave the majority of free humanity.
The GOP has said that they are going to try to form some opposition to this bill, but in reality it will be nothing more than a staged debate. This piece of legislation is going to get passed and any opposition will be for the purposes of the theater played out in the media to make the masses believe that we actually have Senators that represent the people.
San Francisco has already passed a carbon tax on businesses which is just a warm up for what we are going to see across this country if S 2191 gets passed. It is incredibly insane that these people are going forward with an agenda to establish a system of carbon credits on the basis of man made carbon emissions causing global warming. With over 31,000 scientists many with high level degrees refuting the doomsday claims of Al Gore, this global warming crap along with this carbon tax push is becoming more and more of a sick joke.

Obama Would Give Gore Key Role On Climate

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama said that if elected he would ask former Vice President Al Gore to be a key contributor in shaping U.S. climate policies.
Obama, in response to a voter’s question today while campaigning in Pennsylvania, said he would consider offering Gore a cabinet-level position focused on tackling global climate change.
“Al Gore would be at the table and play a central part in us figuring out how we solve this problem,’’ Illinois Senator Obama said during a town hall meeting in Wallingford, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Philadelphia. “He’s somebody I talk to on a regular basis. I’m already consulting with him in terms of these issues.’’
Obama is proposing a carbon credit trading system to cut global warming pollution 80 percent by 2050. Such a program would generate billions of dollars to invest in alternative energy sources, he said. Some of the money also would be used to help offset higher energy bills, the likely short-term result of coal- fired power plants being required to cut their carbon emissions.
“That’s going to cost them money. They are going to try to pass on those costs through higher electricity prices,’’ Obama said today.
“We are going to have to reimburse people on fixed and low incomes to make sure they don’t get hurt by spikes in electricity prices.’’
Cap-And-Trade
Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and John McCain, who has clinched the Republican nomination, have offered similar so-called cap-and-trade plans to fight climate change.
President George W. Bush has rejected calls for an economy- wide cap on carbon, arguing that it would harm the economy and cost jobs. Obama said the Bush administration has failed to take climate change seriously and has taken “anti-science’’ viewpoints.
Earlier this week, Gore’s Alliance for Climate Protection announced a $300 million, three-year advertising campaign aimed at recruiting 10 million supporters to push for new policies to fight global warming.
Gore, the 2000 Democratic presidential nominee and 2007 Nobel Peace Prize winner, hasn’t endorsed anyone in this year’s presidential race. Aides to the former vice president and Tennessee senator didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment on Obama’s comments.

Al Gore believes the road to solving the climate crisis winds through American pop culture, from “American Idol” and “The Biggest Loser” on through “The Daily Show” and “The 700 Club.” The former vice president and the beneficiary of his Nobel Prize, the Palo Alto-based Alliance for Climate Protection, want Washington politicians to act faster to solve the climate crisis. And they think the way to do this is to create a popular movement that appeals to Americans through the pop culture that unites them, rather than political issues that divide them.
Their three-year public advocacy campaign – estimated to cost $300 million – called “We” premieres Wednesday night with a 30-second ad on “Idol,” the nation’s top-rated TV show, where 30 seconds of advertising time costs roughly $700,000. The “We” effort aims to create an army of 10 million activists, twice the size of the group that drove the civil rights movement.
The first ad tells viewers that Americans didn’t wait to storm the beaches of Normandy in World War II, or to overcome segregation or to put the first man on the moon. “We need to act now” to solve the climate crisis, the ad says, and refers viewers to http://www.wecansolveit.org.
Later TV ads will present “unlikely pairs,” who disagree on many issues but appear together to help thwart climate change. The pairs lined up so far include conservative televangelist Pat Robertson and the Rev. Al Sharpton; John Kerry-supporting country rockers the Dixie Chicks and George W. Bush-endorsing country singer Toby Keith; and Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and former Republican House Speaker Newt Gingrich.
They’ve even enlisting the nation’s 2.7 million Girl Scouts, and their 900,000 parents and adult leaders, to spread the word through their social networks.

The establishment continues to hype the non-existent threat of global warming as part of an effort to establish a global carbon tax and a dangerous cult like army of new age earth worshipers. This past weekend, the World Wildlife Fund a known front for the eugenics and depopulation movement launched an effort called Earth Hour in which people around the world shut off their lights to fight global warming. Google even changed the color of their home page to black in order to symbolically promote the event. In addition, former U.S. Vice President Al Gore has announced that he is going to spend $300 million to recruit a so called green army of 10 million people. Gore is also calling on the youth of the world to get involved to fight this phony environmental threat. Even though Gore won’t say so, this is all designed to establish a global carbon tax and to push a one world religion based off of earth worship.
First let’s look at the evidence showing the fraud surrounding this phony threat of man made carbon emissions causing global warming. Scientists have seen evidence of global warming on Mars and other planets in the solar system. Now unless there is man made carbon emissions occurring on Mars and other planets in our solar system it seems pretty clear that if the Earth is getting warmer it is because of solar activity. In the 1970s, the media attempted to scare the general public that global cooling was taking place and that we were facing a new ice age. How is it possible that only 30 years later that the threat has changed from global cooling to global warming? This past winter had temperatures of -40 degrees Fahrenheit in Minnesota, an unusually rough winter in China as well as near record amounts of snowfall in New Hampshire. So where did the global warming go? Not only that, but there are many scientists who refute the science that Gore uses to convince people that man made carbon emissions are the cause of this so called global warming. The founder of the Weather Channel has even said that Gore should be sued for promoting the global warming fraud and that it is one of the biggest scams of all time. On top of all of this, carbon dioxide which the elites are blaming this phony problem on, is a gas that allows life to exist on this planet and is something that human beings emit. On its face, the whole thing is absurd.
There is a great deal of scientific data and anecdotal evidence indicating that man made carbon emissions causing global warming is simply not factual. However, that doesn’t stop the establishment from hyping this phony threat because they wouldn’t be able to achieve their great dream of a global carbon tax without creating this phony problem to blame on man made carbon emissions. It is simply an excuse for them to extract more wealth from the people to fund their system of global government.
Here in the United States, Senator Joe Lieberman has introduced S 2191 which will establish a carbon credit system here in the United States. The bill would also give the Environmental Protection Agency draconian powers to enforce it. Businesses would actually be forced to report their carbon footprint to the EPA much like businesses and people are forced through the barrel of a gun to report their income to the IRS. Similar programs are being proposed in other regions of the world. There is no question that the elites are attempting to implement this program on a global scale.
Evidence of this can be seen with staged events like Earth Hour and last year’s July 7th, 2007 Live Earth Concert. Through Gore and assorted staged events, they are attempting to propagandize people to convince them that man made carbon emissions are causing global warming and global warming is destroying the planet. This is the furthest thing from the truth, but if a lie is repeated often enough it becomes the truth. That is exactly what the establishment is trying to do and this lie will be used to establish large monopolies through the carbon tax and put smaller businesses out of business.
On top of this, Gore is pumping millions into a campaign to recruit an army of brainwashed cult followers that will promote this agenda. Instead of focusing in on real environmental problems like the spraying of pesticides over California, the military use of depleted uranium in the Middle East, the disappearance of bees around the world, the merger of human and animal DNA and other horrors taking place, Gore would prefer to focus in on a fake problem. The reason for this is because Gore is poised to profit off of this whole scam and he’s an establishment hack that supports the objective of enslaving humanity.
What we are seeing is an attempt by the establishment to form a one world religion based off of earth worship which will be supplemented by their carbon enslavement tax. Gore is playing the role of a cult leader who is attempting to spread a new age religion of earth worship to the masses through one of the biggest scams in the history of mankind. Gore and the sicko eugenics freaks in the World Wildlife Fund who are promoting this earth worship agenda are disturbing individuals who should be held liable for this giant hoax.

On Sunday, Leslie Stahl will interview Gore on 60 Minutes, an interview that coincides with Gore’s “major advertising campaign to raise awareness of global warming,” according to David Edwards and Muriel Kane of Raw Story. In a teaser for the show (see video here), Gore compares those of us who have big problems with dismantling civilization — in other words, forcing millions to accept a New Stone Age lifestyle — with “the ones who still believe that the Moon landing was staged in a movie lot in Arizona and those who believe the world is flat.”
In fact, the enviro-crusaders, funded over the years by the Rockefeller foundation, are the flat-earthers, unable to accept alternative theories to their junk science. Instead of debating the opposition, followers of the climate change orthodoxy continue to slander and attempt to minimize them.
Somebody needs to question the “solutions” proffered to mend climate change proposed by the enviro-fascists. One such “solution” entails “geoengineering,” that is the deliberate change of the climate with sulfate aerosols, the same stuff that comes out volcanoes (see Can We Offset Global Warming By Geoengineering The Climate With Aerosols?). Such a harebrained scheme, even if possible, would increase “global dimming” and reduce the amount of light and solar energy that reaches the planet. Never mind the resultant acid rain and massive impact of agriculture. Starvation is an effective way to scale back carbon emissions, as there will be a lot less people breathing.
Another crazy idea is ocean iron fertilization, also known as the “Geritol solution,” and involves seeding the oceans with iron to increase phytoplankton populations. The thought here is that the iron will encourage phytoplankton growth and the phytoplankton will suck up the CO2 as part of photosynthesis. Nobody knows if this will work but why let that stop the eco-fascists from polluting the oceans with heavy metals?
“Other wacky ideas under consideration include artificial trees, giant space mirrors, painting city buildings / roads white, etc., etc.,” notes Global Warming Hoax. “Some of these ideas are scarier than others as some are easy to undo. However the earth warms over time and once we spend a trillion dollars on a space mirror and cool the earth 5°C it will take time to rewarm the oceans, it will also be so embarrassing that it could take decades to convince politicians to scrap such an expensive system. Dr. Tim Ball, the Chairman of the National Resources Stewardship Project and an environmental consultant who has authored numerous scientific publications in the field of climate science joined The Corbett Report recently to discuss the B.C. government’s recent move to impose a carbon tax on the province, among other issues. Carbon taxes, he asserts, are “another grab for money; politicians are always looking for ways to get more funding.”

The hysteria over manmade global warming is akin to the hysteria over the terrorist scare: a convenient excuse to raise funds and take basic liberties from citizens. “In the U.S. and in fact the Western world, they’re using terrorism and [the need for] Homeland Security as a way of taking away people’s individual rights.”
The point is not a trivial one. Indeed, others have noted that the global warming hysteria is being pushed by many of the same globalists pushing the Global War on Terror fantasy.
In the long and wide-ranging interview, Dr. Ball also points out that carbon dioxide is not the vile pollutant some claim it to be: “In fact, reducing CO2 in the atmosphere is the worst thing you can do because it’s absolutely essential to plant life. So here they’re proposing something that in fact is going to be detrimental, and yet they’re saying that they’re doing it to save the planet and people have got to pay for it.”
Dr. Ball is appearing this week at a major climate conference in New York put on by the Heartland Institute which is bringing together scientists to discuss the widespread dissent in the climate science community to the alleged “consensus” that climate change is being caused by human activity. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the event is being ignored by the controlled corporate media, but is receiving alternative media coverage.

Obama’s Global Tax Up For Senate Vote

A nice-sounding bill called the “Global Poverty Act,” sponsored by Democratic presidential candidate and Senator Barack Obama, is up for a Senate vote on Thursday and could result in the imposition of a global tax on the United States. The bill, which has the support of many liberal religious groups, makes levels of U.S. foreign aid spending subservient to the dictates of the United Nations.
Senator Joe Biden, chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, has not endorsed either Senator Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton in the presidential race. But on Thursday, February 14, he is trying to rush Obama’s “Global Poverty Act” (S.2433) through his committee. The legislation would commit the U.S. to spending 0.7 percent of gross national product on foreign aid, which amounts to a phenomenal 13-year total of $845 billion over and above what the U.S. already spends.
The bill, which is item number four on the committee’s business meeting agenda, passed the House by a voice vote last year because most members didn’t realize what was in it. Congressional sponsors have been careful not to calculate the amount of foreign aid spending that it would require. According to the website of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, no hearings have been held on the Obama bill in that body.
A release from the Obama Senate office about the bill declares, “In 2000, the U.S. joined more than 180 countries at the United Nations Millennium Summit and vowed to reduce global poverty by 2015. We are halfway towards this deadline, and it is time the United States makes it a priority of our foreign policy to meet this goal and help those who are struggling day to day.”
The legislation itself requires the President “to develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to further the United States foreign policy objective of promoting the reduction of global poverty, the elimination of extreme global poverty, and the achievement of the Millennium Development Goal of reducing by one-half the proportion of people worldwide, between 1990 and 2015, who live on less than $1 per day.”
The bill defines the term “Millennium Development Goals” as the goals set out in the United Nations Millennium Declaration, General Assembly Resolution 55/2 (2000).
The U.N. says that “The commitment to provide 0.7% of gross national product (GNP) as official development assistance was first made 35 years ago in a General Assembly resolution, but it has been reaffirmed repeatedly over the years, including at the 2002 global Financing for Development conference in Monterrey, Mexico. However, in 2004, total aid from the industrialized countries totaled just $78.6 billion – or about 0.25% of their collective GNP.”
In addition to seeking to eradicate poverty, that declaration commits nations to banning “small arms and light weapons” and ratifying a series of treaties, including the International Criminal Court Treaty, the Kyoto Protocol (global warming treaty), the Convention on Biological Diversity, the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women, and the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
The Millennium Declaration also affirms the U.N. as “the indispensable common house of the entire human family, through which we will seek to realize our universal aspirations for peace, cooperation and development.”
Jeffrey Sachs, who runs the U.N.’s “Millennium Project,” says that the U.N. plan to force the U.S. to pay 0.7 percent of GNP in increased foreign aid spending would add $65 billion a year to what the U.S. already spends. Over a 13-year period, from 2002, when the U.N.’s Financing for Development conference was held, to the target year of 2015, when the U.S. is expected to meet the “Millennium Development Goals,” this amounts to $845 billion. And the only way to raise that kind of money, Sachs has written, is through a global tax, preferably on carbon-emitting fossil fuels.
Obama’s bill has only six co-sponsors. They are Senators Maria Cantwell, Dianne Feinstein, Richard Lugar, Richard Durbin, Chuck Hagel and Robert Menendez. But it appears that Biden and Obama see passage of this bill as a way to highlight Democratic Party priorities in the Senate.
The House version (H.R. 1302), sponsored by Rep. Adam Smith (D-Wash.), had only 84 co-sponsors before it was suddenly brought up on the House floor last September 25 and was passed by voice vote. House Republicans were caught off-guard, unaware that the pro-U.N. measure committed the U.S. to spending hundreds of billions of dollars.
It appears the Senate version is being pushed not only by Biden and Obama, a member of the committee, but Lugar, the ranking Republican member. Lugar has worked with Obama in the past to promote more foreign aid for Russia, supposedly to stem nuclear proliferation, and has become Obama’s mentor. Like Biden, Lugar is a globalist. They have both promoted passage of the U.N.’s Law of the Sea Treaty, for example.
The so-called “Lugar-Obama initiative” was modeled after the Nunn-Lugar program, also known as the Cooperative Threat Reduction (CTR) program, which was designed to eliminate weapons of mass destruction in the former Soviet Union. But one defense analyst, Rich Kelly, noted evidence that “CTR funds have eased the Russian military’s budgetary woes, freeing resources for such initiatives as the war in Chechnya and defense modernization.” He recommended that Congress “eliminate CTR funding so that it does not finance additional, perhaps more threatening, programs in the former Soviet Union.” However, over $6 billion has already been spent on the program.
Another program modeled on Nunn-Lugar, the Initiatives for Proliferation Prevention (IPP), was recently exposed as having funded nuclear projects in Iran through Russia.
More foreign aid through passage of the Global Poverty Act was identified as one of the strategic goals of InterAction, the alliance of U.S-based international non-governmental organizations that lobbies for more foreign aid. The group is heavily financed by the U.S. Government, having received $1.4 million from taxpayers in fiscal year 2005 and $1.7 million in 2006. However, InterAction recently issued a report accusing the United States of “falling short on its commitment to rid the world of dire poverty by 2015 under the U.N. Millennium Development Goals…”
It’s not clear what President Bush would do if the bill passes the Senate. The bill itself quotes Bush as declaring that “We fight against poverty because opportunity is a fundamental right to human dignity.” Bush’s former top aide, Michael J. Gerson, writes in his new book, Heroic Conservatism, that Bush should be remembered as the President who “sponsored the largest percentage increases in foreign assistance since the Marshall Plan…”
Even these increases, however, will not be enough to satisfy the requirements of the Obama bill. A global tax will clearly be necessary to force American taxpayers to provide the money.

Barak Obama’s call for National Infrastructure Reinvestment Bank (NIRB) does not signal the return of the Democratic Party to the values of FDR and a revival of the Constitutional prerogative to ‘promote the general welfare’, but would rather provide more welfare for Wall Street and worse. Obama’s plan is nothing more than the direct means of instituting the Rohatyn-Rudman National Investment Corporation (NIC) plan called for in 2005, which in essence is a revival of Mussolini’s methods of corporatist control of the state in a politically correct post modern fashion..
When Senator Obama states that his National Investment Reinvestment Bank will magically turn $60 billion into trillions of dollars as he did in his Feb 13th Jamesville, WI speech, one can easily realize that the only way that this can happen is through the perverse magic of Wall Street. What would happen is that bonds floated by the NIRB will be bought on the open market, to then be speculated upon, securitized as derivatives, traded and ultimately used as collateral on the newly built infrastructure. What we will see is the emergence of an infrastructure bubble to replace the mortgage bubble, propped up by initial government expenditures towards infrastructure. This is just the start as Obama will fund the feel good ‘carbon credit’ swap to be the next blast of hot air to make Wall Street giddy. This is a key insight to a true understanding of what is going on. Bailout the financial powers with a clever plan that will raise money to then buy up hard assets, in other words the remaining wealth of our nation, as the meltdown crisis of over a quadrillion in derivatives losses grows and grows..
Besides artificially propping up the markets, Obama’s NIRB, as an initiation of the Rohatyn/Rudman infrastructure investment model, opens the door to the privatization of public assets. International predators and asset-strippers want to buy up public highways and impose cutthroat tolls, as they are already doing in many states. Then they run the turnpikes into the ground as cash cows while they mercilessly bilk the users. Privatization is a key goal of the Anglo-American financiers behind this scheme. Both the NIC and NIRB rely on the new darling of the markets, PPPs, known as public private partnerships. PPPs are the means by which market forces will dictate, and that is the word, the implementation of these projects. The argument is that the PPP will keep costs down, but in reality only because the private corporations, now controlling the public sector, will own the assets of what is being constructed. The PPP model is none other than the model implemented by Mussolini in his fascist corporate state. The creation of NIRB funds hark back to Hjalmar Schact’s ‘MEFO’ bills that created the speculative bubble of money so that the National Socialists could rearm Germany and fight World War II..

The so-called scientific consensus that global warming is man-made has been shattered with the release of a major new study backed by three universities which concludes that climate change over the past thirty years is explained by natural factors and that attempts to reduce carbon dioxide emissions are irrelevant.
Climate scientists at the University of Rochester, the University of Alabama, and the University of Virginia report that temperature fluctuations over the past three decades are not consistent with greenhouse model predictions and more closely correlate with solar activity.
The report dismisses attempts to reverse global warming by reducing carbon emissions as ineffective and pointless.
Authored by Prof. David H. Douglass (Univ. of Rochester), Prof. John R. Christy (Univ. of Alabama), Benjamin D. Pearson (graduate student), and Prof. S. Fred Singer (Univ. of Virginia), the study appears in this month’s International Journal of Climatology of the Royal Meteorological Society.
“The observed pattern of warming, comparing surface and atmospheric temperature trends, does not show the characteristic fingerprint associated with greenhouse warming. The inescapable conclusion is that the human contribution is not significant and that observed increases in carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases make only a negligible contribution to climate warming,” said lead author David H. Douglass.
Co-author John Christy said: “Satellite data and independent balloon data agree that atmospheric warming trends do not exceed those of the surface. Greenhouse models, on the other hand, demand that atmospheric trend values be 2-3 times greater. We have good reason, therefore, to believe that current climate models greatly overestimate the effects of greenhouse gases. Satellite observations suggest that GH models ignore negative feedbacks, produced by clouds and by water vapor, that diminish the warming effects of carbon dioxide.”
Co-author S. Fred Singer said: “The current warming trend is simply part of a natural cycle of climate warming and cooling that has been seen in ice cores, deep-sea sediments, stalagmites, etc., and published in hundreds of papers in peer-reviewed journals. The mechanism for producing such cyclical climate changes is still under discussion; but they are most likely caused by variations in the solar wind and associated magnetic fields that affect the flux of cosmic rays incident on the earth’s atmosphere. In turn, such cosmic rays are believed to influence cloudiness and thereby control the amount of sunlight reaching the earth’s surface and thus the climate. Our research demonstrates that the ongoing rise of atmospheric CO2 has only a minor influence on climate change. We must conclude, therefore, that attempts to control CO2 emissions are ineffective and pointless – but very costly.”
The findings of the report help to explain why we are witnessing climate change in almost every corner of our solar system, from Mars to Pluto, to Jupiter and to the moons of Neptune – and clearly identify the sun as the main culprit and not CO2 emissions – which are being used as a pretext for control freaks to completely dominate every aspect of our lives.
Man-made global warming advocates have often made their case by claiming that the scientific consensus is fully behind CO2 emissions as the main driver of climate change, when in fact the UN’s own IPCC report was disputed by the very scientists that the UN claimed were behind it.
In reality, a significant number of prominent experts dispute the global warming mantra, but many have been intimidated into silence and had their careers threatened simply for stating an opposing view.

Mars is being hit by rapid climate change and it is happening so fast that the red planet could lose its southern ice cap, writes Jonathan Leake.
Scientists from Nasa say that Mars has warmed by about 0.5C since the 1970s. This is similar to the warming experienced on Earth over approximately the same period.
Since there is no known life on Mars it suggests rapid changes in planetary climates could be natural phenomena.
The mechanism at work on Mars appears, however, to be different from that on Earth. One of the researchers, Lori Fenton, believes variations in radiation and temperature across the surface of the Red Planet are generating strong winds.
In a paper published in the journal Nature, she suggests that such winds can stir up giant dust storms, trapping heat and raising the planet’s temperature.
Fenton’s team unearthed heat maps of the Martian surface from Nasa’s Viking mission in the 1970s and compared them with maps gathered more than two decades later by Mars Global Surveyor. They found there had been widespread changes, with some areas becoming darker.
When a surface darkens it absorbs more heat, eventually radiating that heat back to warm the thin Martian atmosphere: lighter surfaces have the opposite effect. The temperature differences between the two are thought to be stirring up more winds, and dust, creating a cycle that is warming the planet.

De-Facto One Child Policy Urged in Australia

COUPLES who have more than two children should be charged a lifelong tax to offset their extra offspring’s carbon dioxide emissions, a medical expert says.
The report in an Australian medical journal called for parents to be charged $5000 a head for every child after their second, and an annual tax of up to $800.
And couples who were sterilised would be eligible for carbon credits under the controversial proposal.
Perth specialist Professor Barry Walters was heavily critical of the $4000 baby bonus, saying that paying new parents extra for every baby fuelled more children, more emissions and “greenhouse-unfriendly behaviour”.
Instead, it should be replaced with a “baby levy” in the form of a carbon tax in line with the “polluter pays” principle, he wrote in the latest Medical Journal of Australia.
“Every family choosing to have more than a defined number of children should be charged a carbon tax that would fund the planting of enough trees to offset the carbon cost generated by a new human being,” said Prof Walters, an obstetrician at King Edward Memorial Hospital.
Sustainable Population Australia suggested a maximum of two, he said.
By the same reasoning, contraceptives like diaphragms and condoms, as well as sterilisation procedures, should attract carbon credits, the specialist said.

Is the National Aeronautics and Space Administration filled with climate change deniers?
Such seems likely to be alleged by hysterical alarmists in the press when and if they read a new study out of NASA which determined that “not all the large changes seen in Arctic climate in recent years are a result of long-term trends associated with global warming.”
Goes quite counter to all the recent media reports, as well as assertions by Nobel Laureate Al Gore, that low ice conditions in the Arctic are all the fault of that despicable — albeit essential to life and naturally occurring! — gas carbon dioxide.
Of course, it’s quite unlikely many climate alarmists will even hear about this study, for today’s green media wouldn’t want to do anything that destroys their illusion that there’s a scientific consensus regarding this matter.
As such, consider yourself fortunate to be apprised of the highlights (emphasis added throughout):
A team of NASA and university scientists has detected an ongoing reversal in Arctic Ocean circulation triggered by atmospheric circulation changes that vary on decade-long time scales. The results suggest not all the large changes seen in Arctic climate in recent years are a result of long-term trends associated with global warming.

The team of scientists found a 10-millibar decrease in water pressure at the bottom of the ocean at the North Pole between 2002 and 2006, equal to removing the weight of 10 centimeters (four inches) of water from the ocean. The distribution and size of the decrease suggest that Arctic Ocean circulation changed from the counterclockwise pattern it exhibited in the 1990s to the clockwise pattern that was dominant prior to 1990.
Reporting in Geophysical Research Letters, the authors attribute the reversal to a weakened Arctic Oscillation, a major atmospheric circulation pattern in the northern hemisphere. The weakening reduced the salinity of the upper ocean near the North Pole, decreasing its weight and changing its circulation.“Our study confirms many changes seen in upper Arctic Ocean circulation in the 1990s were mostly decadal in nature, rather than trends caused by global warming,” said [James Morison of the University of Washington’s Polar Science Center Applied Physics Laboratory].
Somehow I imagine Morison won’t be interviewed by any of the major television networks any time soon, especially as the study concluded that this circulation pattern may already be reversing possibly leading to increased ice levels in this area in coming years:
The Arctic Oscillation was fairly stable until about 1970, but then varied on more or less decadal time scales, with signs of an underlying upward trend, until the late 1990s, when it again stabilized. During its strong counterclockwise phase in the 1990s, the Arctic environment changed markedly, with the upper Arctic Ocean undergoing major changes that persisted into this century. Many scientists viewed the changes as evidence of an ongoing climate shift, raising concerns about the effects of global warming on the Arctic.
Morison said data gathered by Grace and the bottom pressure gauges since publication of the paper earlier this year highlight how short-lived the ocean circulation changes can be. The newer data indicate the bottom pressure has increased back toward its 2002 level. “The winter of 2006-2007 was another high Arctic Oscillation year and summer sea ice extent reached a new minimum,” he said. “It is too early to say, but it looks as though the Arctic Ocean is ready to start swinging back to the counterclockwise circulation pattern of the 1990s again.”
Once again, another in a seeming litany of reports emerging offering scientific alternatives for climate change beyond it being all man’s fault.
And folks wonder why so many people are skeptical concerning the anthropogenic impact on long-term weather patterns.
Of course, one thing’s for certain: this news definitely won’t make “An Inconvenient Truth” producer Laurie David happy!

A U.S. Senate committee is scheduled for an historic vote on a global warming bill this week, perhaps as early as Wednesday. Environmental groups are planning a flurry of press conferences tomorrow (12/4/2007) to try to influence the vote.
Meanwhile, in Maryland, Gov. Martin O’Malley’s advisory Commission on Climate Change is scheduled to meet tomorrow to discuss possible steps to reduce the state’s greenhouse gas emmissions. The 22-member goup, headed by state Environmental Secretary Shari T. Wilson, is looking to recommend that the state adopt laws to cut greenhouse gases by 25 percent by 2020, and then move aggressively to slash the pollutants by 90 percent by 2050, according to a draft report. To achieve these goals, the state should tighten its energy efficiency standards, strengthen building codes, require more clean energy generation, among other steps.
“As a coastal state with extensive low-lying land on the Eastern Shore and around the Chesapeake Bay, Maryland is exceeded only by Louisiana, Florida and Delaware in the percentage of its land vulnerable to accelerated sea level rise,” the draft report warns.
On the Federal level, the U.S. Senate Environment and Public Works Committee on Wednesday is expected to debate amendments to a bill proposed by Sens. Lieberman of Connecticut and Warner of Virginia that would create a “cap and trade” system designed to cut total U.S. greenhouse-gas emissions. These systems require industries to pay fees when they emit carbon dioxide or other greenhouses gases above a set limit, with the money going to reward cleaner businesses.
Sen. Ben Cardin of Maryland is a co-sponsor of the bill. A group of Maryland environmental groups recently wrote a letter to Cardin (see below) urging him to strengthen the bill. They praise the proposal as a good first step, but they want to end the bill’s free giveaway of pollution credits to power companies and amend the legislation to create a more aggressive target of an 80 percent cut by 2050.
“This is the first time ever a Senate commitee is voting on a global warming bill, and that’s historic,” said Brad Heavner, director of Environment Maryland. “There is some reasonable expectation that this will get to the floor, but the big question is will it get stronger or weaker?….We think it needs to be stronger.”
As this blog reported last month, Europe tried a pollution credit trading system to curb carbon dioxide emissions after it passed the Kyoto Protocol in 1997, and power companies worked the system to make billions in profits. Electricity customers paid higher bills, thinking they were contributing to a cooler planet. But their money just went into the pockets of the electric companies, which didn’t end up actually cutting down on their carbon dioxide emissions.
On the other side of the political spectrum from these environmental groups, most Republicans on the committee are unlikely to vote in favor of the bill’s current requirements, according to the online journal Grist.
“Right now, there’s little reason to expect that any Republican on the committee other than John Warner (R-Va.) himself will vote for it. Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) spoke critically of it at the first subcommittee hearing last week, and Sen. George Voinovich (R-Ohio) took to the podium of the National Press Club two days later to pillory the bill.
Voinovich said: ‘I have significant reservations about the bill. I have recently heard the concerns of a variety of constituents, including both industry and labor representatives, who are especially concerned that the bill presents an overly aggressive first phase of emissions reductions that will hit well before we can reasonably expect commercially available technologies to deal with the problem.’
Without the support of more Republicans, it’s unclear if the measure will make it out of the full Senate — not to mention survive a veto by President Bush, if he chose to use that power.
Meanwhile, the nonprofit Pew Center on Global Climate Change is releasing a report tomorrow on the impact of global warming on the Chesapeake Bay. Environment Maryland tomorrow morning is releasing a report on changes in local rainfall expected because of climate change.

The push towards a global carbon credit mechanism continues to be one of the top agendas of the world elite. Despite the fact that numerous scientific studies have concluded that the entire solar system is getting warmer as part of a natural cycle, non-stop propaganda from the major corporate news networks continue to blame man made carbon emissions for planetary warming. In addition, the establishment media pushes unfounded claims that global warming will result in a myriad of environmental disasters. Despite the fact that man made global warming is a complete fraud, the world elite are selling fear as a way for them to bring in a world carbon credit enslavement system. This carbon credit system will be used as a funding mechanism to consolidate wealth into the hands of the big global corporations and to potentially fund regional and global governmental institutions.
In 2005, the European Union began the foundational steps to setup a credit system based off of carbon emissions through the European Union Emission Trading Scheme. Now, they are seeking to expand that system to include airliners. Peter Liese a German member of the European Parliament even stated that they want this carbon credit scheme to be global in scale. Below is a blurb from the International Herald Tribune, in which he advocates the need for this carbon credit enslavement system.
A bold attempt by the European Union to impose caps on aircraft emissions received a boost on Tuesday as legislators voted to raise the costs on airlines and to include international flights sooner than expected.
The measures, approved by the European Parliament, are fiercely opposed by the United States and the airline industry, which could cost companies billions of dollars and lead to sharp price rises for passengers. On the opposing side, some environmental groups criticized the proposed measure, which still must be approved by individual EU states, as far too timid.
But members of the European Parliament said that regulating aircraft pollution would set a important precedent and could be emulated by other countries.
“We want a worldwide system as soon as possible,” said Peter Liese, a German member of parliament who helped to guide the legislation through parliament, which met in Strasbourg, France. “There must be an end to the status quo that nothing is done in the aviation sector and which has predominated for many years now,” Liese said.
As the European Union pushes the carbon credit scam forward in Europe, the United States Senate is now pushing Senate Bill 2191 which is called America’s Climate Security Act of 2007. The bill originally proposed by Joe Lieberman and co-sponsored by establishment hacks on both sides of the phony right-left political paradigm if passed into law will establish a draconian carbon credit system here in the United States that will give the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) extraordinary enforcement powers over this system. Below is a full analysis of this bill which promises nothing short of total enslavement.
Facilities that emit or import fuel that could potentially emit more than 10,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide per year would be affected by this bill. This is described in section 4 of the bill and labels these facilities as a “covered facility” and they would be forced to abide by the rules and regulations established by this bill. Considering that the average automobile emits approximately six tons of carbon dioxide on a yearly basis, 10,000 metric tons is really not a whole lot of carbon dioxide. The relevant subsections of section 4 are listed below.
(5) CARBON DIOXIDE EQUIVALENT- The term `carbon dioxide equivalent’ means, for each greenhouse gas, the quantity of the greenhouse gas that the Administrator determines makes the same contribution to global warming as 1 metric ton of carbon dioxide.
(7) COVERED FACILITY- The term `covered facility’ means–
(A) any facility within the electric power sector that contains fossil fuel-fired electricity generating units that together emit more than 10,000 carbon dioxide equivalents of greenhouse gas in any year;
(B) any facility within the industrial sector that emits more than 10,000 carbon dioxide equivalents of greenhouse gas in any year;
(C) any facility that in any year produces, or any entity that in any year imports, petroleum- or coal-based transportation fuel, the use of which will emit more than 10,000 carbon dioxide equivalents of greenhouse gas, assuming no capture and permanent sequestration of that gas; or
(D) any facility that in any year produces, or any entity that in any year imports, nonfuel chemicals that will emit more than 10,000 carbon dioxide equivalents of greenhouse gas, assuming no capture and destruction or permanent sequestration of that gas.
Based off of the definition of a “covered facility”, the bill defines what an “affected facility” is defined as. It defines any “covered facility” as also being an “affected facility” but the broad language goes well beyond that. In the definition it essentially states that the Administrator of the EPA can actually designate whatever facility they want to designate as to be an affected facility if it emits a greenhouse gas. If you have farm animals, operate a fireplace or any number of things, the EPA at their discretion could declare that you are an “affected facility” and you will be forced to abide by the regulations set forth in the bill. It also states that “in general”, this is what is defined as an “affected facility”, so the bill allows the EPA to bend the rules and use an outrageous amount of discretion. So if you get on the bad side of the people at the EPA, they will have the power to designate your place of business or home as an “affected facility” even if you do not emit or import fuel that could potentially emit over 10,000 tons of carbon dioxide.
SEC. 1102. DEFINITIONS.
In this subtitle:
(1) AFFECTED FACILITY-
(A) IN GENERAL- The term `affected facility’ means–
(i) a covered facility;
(ii) another facility that emits a greenhouse gas, as determined by the Administrator; and
(iii) at the option of the Administrator, a vehicle fleet with emissions of more than 10,000 carbon dioxide equivalents per year, assuming no double-counting of emissions.
Any facility considered to be an “affected facility” would be forced to report annually and quarterly an obscene amount of data to the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency. The bill establishes a federal greenhouse gas registry where this information would be collected. Section 1103 describes the reporting requirements of “affected facilities” which would force these facilities to report the quantity and type of fossil fuels utilized, the amount of electricity generated or consumed, the amount of greenhouse gases emitted and more. These facilities would undoubtedly be forced to operate under the carbon credit enslavement system. The full list is shown below.
SEC. 1103. REPORTING REQUIREMENTS.
(a) In General- Subject to this section, each affected facility shall submit to the Administrator, for inclusion in the Registry, periodic reports, including annual and quarterly data, that–
(1) include the quantity and type of fossil fuels, including feedstock fossil fuels, that are extracted, produced, refined, imported, exported, or consumed at or by the facility;
(2) include the quantity of hydrofluorocarbons, perfluorocarbons, sulfur hexafluoride, nitrous oxide, carbon dioxide that has been captured and sequestered, and other greenhouse gases generated, produced, imported, exported, or consumed at or by the facility;
(3) include the quantity of electricity generated, imported, exported, or consumed by or at the facility, and information on the quantity of greenhouse gases emitted when the imported, exported, or consumed electricity was generated, as determined by the Administrator;
(4) include the aggregate quantity of all greenhouse gas emissions from sources at the facility, including stationary combustion source emissions, process emissions, and fugitive emissions;
(5) include greenhouse gas emissions expressed in metric tons of each greenhouse gas emitted and in the quantity of carbon dioxide equivalents of each greenhouse gas emitted;
(6) include a list and description of sources of greenhouse gas emissions at the facility;
(7) quantify greenhouse gas emissions in accordance with the measurement standards established under section 1104;
(8) include other data necessary for accurate and complete accounting of greenhouse gas emissions, as determined by the Administrator;
(9) include an appropriate certification regarding the accuracy and completeness of reported data, as determined by the Administrator; and
(10) are submitted electronically to the Administrator, in such form and to such extent as may be required by the Administrator.
Failure to abide by these reporting requirements will result in draconian fines. Section 1106 declares that the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency could bring civil action against owners or operators of facilities that do not abide by the regulations outlined in this bill. It also outlines a fine of $25,000 each day of non-compliance.
SEC. 1106. ENFORCEMENT.
(a) Civil Actions- The Administrator may bring a civil action in United States district court against the owner or operator of an affected facility that fails to comply with any requirement of this subtitle.
(b) Penalty- Any person that has violated or is violating this subtitle shall be subject to a civil penalty of not more than $25,000 per day of each violation.
In Section 1201 the bill gives the Administrator of the EPA authority to enforce a total amount of carbon dioxide emissions allowed in the country. Each year, the EPA will enforce rules in which fewer total carbon dioxide emissions will be allowed. It even states that carbon emissions will not be considered a property right.
SEC. 1201. EMISSION ALLOWANCE ACCOUNT.
(a) In General- The Administrator shall establish a separate quantity of emission allowances for each of calendar years 2012 through 2050.
(b) Identification Numbers- The Administrator shall assign to each emission allowance established under subsection (a) a unique identification number that includes the calendar year for which that emission allowance was established.
(c) Legal Status of Emission Allowances-
(1) IN GENERAL- An emission allowance shall not be a property right.
(2) TERMINATION OR LIMITATION- Nothing in this Act or any other provision of law limits the authority of the United States to terminate or limit an emission allowance.
(3) OTHER PROVISIONS UNAFFECTED- Nothing in this Act relating to emission allowances shall affect the application of, or compliance with, any other provision of law to or by a covered facility.
Even more ridiculous is that facilities that emit more carbon than they are allowed will be subject to more outrageous fines under the authority of the EPA.
The bill states in section 2501 that “affected facilities” would be able to use international allowances or credits to satisfy up to 15% of their carbon emission allowance. This indicates without a doubt that the grand plan is to have an international carbon credit system in place. Why would they include this section in the bill, if there wasn’t discussion of plans for an international system? Section 2501 is listed below.
SEC. 2501. USE OF INTERNATIONAL ALLOWANCES OR CREDITS.
The owner or operator of a covered facility may satisfy up to 15 percent of the allowance submission requirement of the covered facility under section 1202(a) by submitting allowances or credits obtained on a foreign greenhouse gas emissions trading market, on the condition that the Administrator has certified the market in accordance with the regulations promulgated pursuant to section 2502(a).
The bill would also establish a nonprofit private corporation called the “Climate Change Credit Corporation” that would essentially collect money based off of carbon credit auctions. This is outlined in Section 4201 of the bill which is shown below.
SEC. 4201. ESTABLISHMENT.
(a) In General- There is established, as a nonprofit corporation without stock, a corporation to be known as the `Climate Change Credit Corporation’.
(b) Treatment- The Corporation shall not be considered to be an agency or establishment of the Federal Government.
This private corporation in the bill would be run by a board of directors composed of 5 people all appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate. Essentially, the President and the Senate would have a staged theatrical confirmation hearing much like they do when a new Chairman of the Federal Reserve is selected. It is specifically stated that this institution will not be an agency or establishment of the U.S. government, so therefore it would not be directly accountable to the people. Since that’s the case, why even have a staged confirmation hearing if the corporation is going to exist outside of the scope of the U.S. government?
The bill does state that the intention of the corporation is to use the money they collect to be used towards alternative fuels, but since it operates outside of the scope of the federal government, there is no way to determine how this private corporation would be held accountable for their actions. It would essentially give them a blank check to funnel money back into the military industrial complex under the guise of researching non-carbon emitting alternative fuels. Even the language in section 4401, states that “in general”, the corporation will use the amounts collected via their carbon credit auctions but it doesn’t force them to do this.
SEC. 4401. IN GENERAL.
For each calendar year, the Corporation shall use the amounts described in section 4301(c) and 4302(b) to carry out the programs established under this subtitle, as follows:
(1) Not more than 45 percent of the funds shall be used to carry out the zero- or low-carbon energy technologies program under section 4402.
(2) Not more than 35 percent of the funds shall be used as follows:
(A) Not more than 28 percent shall be used to carry out the advanced coal and sequestration technologies program under section 4403.
(B) Not more than 7 percent shall be used to carry out the cellulosic biomass ethanol technology deployment programs under section 4404.
(3) Not more than 20 percent shall be used to carry out the advanced technology vehicles manufacturing incentive program under section 4405.
The market of carbon credits will be overseen by a new institution called the “Carbon Market Efficiency Board”. This board will essentially serve as a price fixer for the carbon credit market. Section 2601 through Section 2605 describes the duties of the board. The bill gives the board the ability to set interest rates on the borrowing of carbon credits and to determine if at certain periods of time, more carbon credits are needed to ensure the economy functions properly. It will essentially be a Federal Reserve System for carbon credits, and they will be given the power to manipulate the carbon credit market as they see fit.
Boiling the bill down to brass tax, it gives the EPA draconian powers to determine who and who doesn’t need to abide by the regulations in this bill. The language is so broad that the EPA can literally decide that any business or facility must abide by these rules and regulations at their discretion even if they fall outside the scope of a “covered facility”. The EPA could even decide that homes with fireplaces could be considered an “affected facility” by the bill considering the amount of discretion they are given in determining what is considered to be an “affected facility”. Whomever the EPA decides is affected by this bill must report all sorts of ridiculous information detailing their carbon footprint to the EPA on a quarterly basis. It gives the EPA extraordinary powers to enforce a carbon credit system and gives them the mandate to levy draconian fines on those in non-compliance with this legislation. There is no exemption for humans or animals which naturally emit carbon dioxide so the EPA at some point could even include employees and farm animals as contributing to a facilities carbon footprint. The broad language in the bill gives a blank check to the EPA to be the nation’s carbon police where people would need permission from the government by way of carbon credits to conduct normal everyday activities including breathing.
The bill also sets up the carbon credit system so that fewer and fewer carbon credits are issued on a yearly basis. This will not be a problem for the big multinational corporations, but it will be a huge problem for smaller and medium sized businesses trying to grow. The “Climate Change Credit Corporation” which the bill establishes would collect large amounts of money by auctioning off increasingly more valuable carbon credits. The bill authorizes this corporation to auction off an increasing amount of carbon credits over time. Considering that the bill mandates that fewer and fewer carbon credits will be made available over time, these carbon credits will become increasingly more valuable and more money will be funneled into this tax exempt corporation.
The “Carbon Market Efficiency Board” that the bill establishes would serve to be price fixers for the market of carbon credits. Much like how the Federal Reserve manipulates the value of Federal Reserve Notes, the Carbon Market Efficiency Board will manipulate the value of carbon credits.
This is a horrible piece of legislation and essentially gives the EPA the ability to enforce a credit system on life itself. This is nothing more than an enslavement system which will consolidate more wealth into the hands of the military industrial complex and ensure that smaller and medium sized businesses can’t grow and compete with them. This bill represents nothing more than out of control corporate fascism giving broad police powers to the EPA, establishing a board with the power to manipulate the value of carbon credits and establishing a nonprofit corporation with no definitive government accountability that will have a great deal of wealth funneled into it by auctioning off what in the future will be increasingly more valuable carbon credits. Joe Lieberman and the associated gaggle of the bill’s co-sponsors are traitors and care not about the American people or their welfare by introducing this legislation.
It is clear that this global carbon credit system is at the very forefront of the elite’s agenda to completely enslave the middle class and poor in developed nations. This bill needs to be defeated, and the traitors that are supporting this should be removed from office immediately.
