New Poll Indicates Mass Rejection Of Swine Flu Vaccine
62% of Americans will refuse jab to due to safety concerns
Steve Watson
Infowars.net
October 22, 2009
A new scientific poll has found that the vast majority of Americans have no intention of rolling up their sleeves for the H1N1 vaccine because they do not trust government assurances that the shot is safe.
In the week that the first H1N1 vaccines have become available, 62% of respondents to ABC News/Washington Post survey said they will probably not get vaccinated, while 30% said they are not confident in the shot’s safety.
The poll shows that the vast majority of Americans would rather risk sickness than trust their government’s advice of necessity, indicating that the $16 million federal propaganda effort is failing.
In addition, the survey reveals that around four parents out of ten say they have no intention of allowing their children to receive the vaccine.
Over half of respondents in that group said that the primary reason they would not allow their kids to be vaccinated was because of the possibility of side effects and suspicions that the shot has not been adequately tested.
The rest cited the belief that H1N1 was not serious enough to warrant vaccination or that getting the shot was not “worth the trouble”.
The results come despite the fact that concerns over getting the flu have also increased significantly from 39% to 52%. More people are worried over H1N1 than they were over bird flu and SARS in 2006 and 2003 respectively, according to the poll.

Danish Prime Minister Knew WTC Would Collapse
Giuliani received the same warning but victims and firefighters inside the tower did not
Paul Joseph Watson
Prison Planet.com
October 16, 2009
During a recent interview on Danish television, the former Prime Minister of Denmark admitted that he received a message 5 to 10 minutes beforehand telling him that the south tower of the World Trade Center was going to collapse, prompting questions as to why the victims and rescue personnel inside the building didn’t get the same warning.
Poul Nyrup Rasmussen told Denmark’s largest broadcast television network, The Danish Broadcasting Corporation, that before he walked into his office to hold a security meeting on the morning of 9/11, he got advance knowledge of the south tower’s imminent collapse.
“I am told that the first tower has completely collapsed….I received a message 5-10 minutes before it physically happened saying there was impending danger the tower would collapse so I knew disaster was coming” said Rasmussen.
Rasmussen added that the imminent collapse of the building was confirmed as soon as he entered his office.
The Danish Prime Minister was not the only high-level official to receive advance knowledge that the World Trade Center was going to collapse.
During an interview on 9/11 with ABC News’ Peter Jennings, then New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani stated, “I went down to the scene and we set up headquarters at 75 Barkley Street, which was right there with the Police Commissioner, the Fire Commissioner, the Head of Emergency Management, and we were operating out of there when we were told that the World Trade Center was going to collapse. And it did collapse before we could actually get out of the building, so we were trapped in the building for 10, 15 minutes, and finally found an exit and got out, walked north, and took a lot of people with us.”
In the eight years since the attacks, Giuliani has failed to explain how and why he received advance knowledge of this unprecedented event and why that same warning was not passed on to those inside the towers, who had been told to remain in their offices via loudspeaker after the first plane struck at 8:46am.
“Some people — it’s not clear how many — returned to their offices after announcements on the building’s emergency loudspeaker system said that it was safe to stay in the south tower,” reported USA Today under the sub headline “announcements caused deaths,” adding that to some this sounded like an order to return, not an option.
The fact that officials knew the tower was about to collapse as much as 10 minutes before it fell was completely ignored by the 9/11 Commission. If that same warning had been transmitted to those inside the towers who still had the capability to get out, hundreds of lives could have been saved.
Add to this the fact that the collapse of a steel building that was purposefully built to withstand the impact of a commercial airliner without collapsing through fire damage was a completely unprecedented event, and the notion that the 9/11 Commission wouldn’t even question these advance warnings sounds alarm bells and provides yet another reason why a new investigation is needed.

4 arrested for attempting citizens arrest on Karl Rove
Iowa Politics
July 25, 2008
Four Iowans were arrested today while attempting to make a Citizens’ Arrest of Karl Rove in Des Moines, Iowa. Citing Iowa Code provisions for making Citizen’s Arrests as well as citing Federal Statute violations they claimed Rove had violated, the four were stopped at the gate of the Wakonda Country Club in Des Moines where Rove was scheduled to speak at a Republican Fundraiser.
The four arrested were retired Methodist minister and Peace and Justice Advocate, Rev. Chet Guinn, 80, as well as three Des Moines Catholic Workers, Edward Bloomer, 61, Kirk Brown, 25, and Mona Shaw, 57. All four were cited for trespassing and released.
The four maintained that they were acting within the guidelines of Iowa Code that obligate private citizens to make such an arrest if they believe a felony has been committed and turn Rove over to police officials to bring Rove before a judge for formal indictment. By law, a federal judge should consider the charges and determine if an indictment should be made.
Brown and Shaw made a similar attempt last March when Rove spoke at the University of Iowa, Iowa City. Brown and Shaw were arrested and released without charges following that attempt. Deaths in the Middle East since the March attempt number in the thousands including, 151 more US troops have been killed in Iraq, and 284 killed in Afghanistan as well as far more citizens of those two nations.
Rove remains unindicted and recently refused to cooperate with a Congressional subpoena in the Valerie Plame leak investigation. Despite mounting evidence of Rove’s wrongdoing concerning leading the U.S. to war as well as other actions, Congress and the U.S. judicial system remain reluctant to bring charges against either Rove or the Bush administration. Recent evidence includes Articles of Impeachment that will again be presented by Ohio Congressman Dennis Kucinich tomorrow. Vincent Bugliosi’s new book “The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder” carefully lays out a case against Bush and his administration for war crimes and felony murder. Bugliosi was prosecutor for the Charles Manson Family murders and author of the book “Helter Skelter,” which dealt with that crime.
To date there have been 4125 US Military deaths in Iraq, 896 in Afghanistan, 66,775 casualties (wounded as well as those removed for other injuries and illnesses), and more than 200,000 Iraqi and Afghani citizens killed and many, many more wounded.

The Euro Hit Record $1.60 Against U.S. Dollar
Reuters
July 18, 2008
The dollar sank to a new low against the euro on Tuesday, as markets worried about the ongoing U.S. lending crisis and the state of the country’s economy.
The 15-nation currency rose to an all-time high of $1.6038 in European trading, surpassing its previous record of $1.6018 set on April 22.
After reaching the record, the euro fell back to $1.5983 — still above the $1.5916 it bought in late New York trading Monday.
Gold makes another record, hits $982
The News
July 16, 2008
Gold once again broke all barriers on Tuesday and created a record high of Rs22,071 per 10 grams and yet remained under-cost compared to international markets leading to a cold local market and high selling in the UAE.
President All-Pakistan Supreme Council of Jewelers Association, Alhaj Haroon Rashid Chand said that the yellow metal had reached Rs25,750 per tola, which is a new record in Pakistan.
Chand recalled that gold had reached its highest of Rs20,657 per 10 grams and Rs24,100 per tola on March 17 in Pakistan when international yellow metal prices were US$1,032 an ounce four months earlier before creating new records over the past week.
He explained that the upward trend had resumed for the yellow metal following rupees further depreciating against US dollars and crude oil reaching fresh records per barrel.
He also informed that gold was being sold across the sea to Dubai markets in great amounts as the precious yellow metal was under cost in the local market by Rs580 compared to the Dubai bullion market.
Chand said that the trend of selling gold in UAE markets through smuggling or other illegal means, was adversely affecting Pakistan as the same gold was melted and then was reverted back to Pakistan at higher prices through the green channel. This, he added, led to a great imbalance in the country’s Balance of Trade.
He said that despite several appeals to the government to take note of the matter, it continued to remain ignored, while gold traders had also ceased to trust the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) as the official representative body, for it had also disappointed them.
The jewelers association’s president said that KCCI was now dominated by industrialists who looked after their own benefits and raised personal points in front of the government rather than equally representing the small traders, leading to disharmony amongst businessmen and traders and moreover, heavy losses to the gold traders.
Dealers at the Kharadar Sarafah bazaar informed that there was absolutely no purchasing in the markets across Pakistan and small traders feared the continuity of their businesses.
They explained that both investors and customers were opting for alternative solutions rather than buying gold. While investors had slowly ventured into other commodities and investments, gold markets remained deserted as customers looked the other way towards artificial jewelry.
Many jewelry traders said that they had been compelled to reduce their profit margins to keep gold jewelry within affordable rates, but now could not further reduce their ‘making charges’ as that would mean higher losses for them.
The international bullion market recorded an upward rise of $23 to $982 per ounce on Tuesday, against $959 an ounce a day earlier.
Oil prices tumble to below $129

The price of oil recorded its biggest weekly drop ever, and a gallon of gas finally pulled back from its record high. So is it time to declare the energy bubble popped? Experts won’t go that far just yet.
‘‘It’s too early to say we’ve seen the worst of it,’’ said Tom Kloza, publisher and chief oil analyst of the Oil Price Information Service in Wall, N.J.
Light, sweet crude for August delivery fell 41 cents Friday to settle at $128.88 on the New York Mercantile Exchange – well below its trading record of more than $147 a week earlier.

NAFTA Superhighway Stalled: Ron Paul
Ron Paul
House.gov
June 23, 2008
I am pleased to report that last week we received notice that the Texas Department of Transportation will recommend the I-69 Project be developed using existing highway facilities instead of the proposed massive new Trans Texas Corridor/NAFTA Superhighway. According to the Texas Transportation Commissioner, consideration is no longer being given to new corridors and other proposals for a new highway footprint for this project. A major looming threat to property rights and national sovereignty is removed with this encouraging announcement.
Public outcry was cited as the main reason for this decision. I was very impressed to learn that the TxDOT received nearly 28,000 public comments on this matter, and that some 12,000 Texans attended the 47 public hearings held earlier this year. They could not ignore this tsunami of strong public opinion against the proposed plans. I was especially proud of how informed my constituents became on the subject, and how eloquently and respectfully they spoke and conducted themselves, considering how upsetting the plans were for our communities in Texas .
This is a major victory for the people of Texas , and a reminder of what we can accomplish with civic involvement. The informed and active citizen truly is a force to be reckoned with, as we have seen with the defeat of this proposal. We must keep fighting the good fight, and remain ever diligent against the encroachments of big government. We must do this if we wish to maintain our traditional standard of living in this country. As tempting as it may be to simply live our lives with no regard to government, apathy will inevitably be punished by ever more government intrusion. That is what this fight was all about. We can win if we stick together.

DC Madam Deborah Jeane Palfrey predicted she would be “suicided” on several occasions both recently and as far back as 17 years ago – comments that now appear ominous in light of the announcement that the former head of a Washington escort service allegedly killed herself today.
“If taken into custody, my physical safety and most probably my very life would be jeopardized,” she wrote in August 1991 following an attempt to bring her to trial, “Rape, beating, maiming, disfigurement and more than likely murder disguised in the form of just another jailhouse accident or suicide would await me,” said Palfrey in a handwritten letter to the judge accusing the San Diego police vice squad of having a vendetta against her.
During several recent appearances on The Alex Jones Show, Palfrey also said that she was at risk of being killed and that authorities would make it look like suicide. She made it clear that she was not suicidal and if she was found dead it would be murder.
Palfrey had threatened to release the names of well-known clients of her upscale call girl ring in the nation’s capitol, and had indicated that Dick Cheney may be one of them.
“We now know it goes at least as high as a United States Senator,” Palfrey told The Alex Jones Show, “I’m hearing rumors now from other people that there are other possibilities in that stratosphere so to speak, on that level.”
“No I’m not planning to commit suicide,” Palfrey told The Alex Jones Show on her last appearance in March, “I’m planning on going into court and defending myself vigorously and exposing the government,” she said.
“Blanche Palfrey had no sign that her daughter was suicidal, and there was no immediate indication that alcohol or drugs were involved, police Capt. Jeffrey Young said,” according to an AP report.

Palfrey rejected suicide in May 2007 interview
Examiner.com
May 2, 2008
When Deborah Jeane Palfrey (aka the “DC Madam,” who was found hanged in Tarpon Springs, Florida on Thursday) sat down in May 2007 for an interview with Carol Joynt, host of the Q&A Cafe interview series, most everything was up in the air: Palfrey faced a criminal indictment on prostitution charges and was fighting courts over how to handle thirteen years of phone records which contained the phone numbers of many clients of her escort service.
But, for Palfrey, one thing was crystal clear during that interview: She would never end her life by hanging herself.
Joynt brought up the subject of Brandy Britton, a Baltimore prostitute whom had occasionally worked for Palfrey and whom had hanged herself in January 2007, only days away from facing prostitution charges.
Palfrey told Joynt in no uncertain terms: “I don’t want to be like her. I don’t want to end up like her.”
In the months following the interview with Joynt, Palfrey’s fortunes took a turn for the worse. In April, a federal jury convicted Palfrey of running a prostitution ring and she awaited her sentencing on July 24, where she faced up to six years in prison.
In the end, Palfrey’s proud and defiant statements about Britton’s tragic end couldn’t stop her own sad conclusion, and it all too closely tracked the final days of her former employee: A woman caught up in an illegal world of sex and money, and for whom the pressure ultimately became too much to bear.

Palfrey Considered Call Girl’s “Suicide” Possible Murder
DC Madam employee also found hanged despite family’s insistence she was upbeat, positive

DC Madam Deborah Jeane Palfrey, who was found hanged today in what authorities claim was a “suicide,” not only asserted that she would never commit suicide, but also thought the alleged suicide of one of her former call girls was possibly murder.
Brandy Britton was an employee of Palfrey before the D.C. Madam’s prostitution ring was busted. She was found hanged after allegedly committing suicide in January 2007 days before she was set to go to trial.
Asked if the suicide was in fact murder, Palfrey told the Alex Jones Show in July last year, “Well we don’t know about that, there’s two schools of thought – one says yes one says no,”
Asked what the circumstances were that made people question the alleged “suicide” of her former call girl, Palfrey responded, “People say that she was a very upbeat person, a very positive person that she was going into court, she was ready to fight them, that she absolutely was not going to give in and all of a sudden a few days before she was to go to trial she committed suicide and her family members and friends say this was extremely abnormal.”
“She was not in a frame of mind to commit suicide, you know perhaps she knew something, there’s been a lot of speculation about that,” said Palfrey, “She had very little to lose, she wasn’t going to go to jail, she’d been charged on a prostitution case,” added Palfrey, noting that individuals involved in the call girl scandal possibly thought Britton was about to name names.

According to a Post Chronicle report, Palfrey and Britton’s alleged “suicides” bear similar hallmarks.
During several recent appearances on The Alex Jones Show, Palfrey conceded that she was at risk of being killed and that authorities would make it look like suicide. She made it clear that she was not suicidal and if she was found dead it would be murder.

Hillary: “If I’m President, We Will Attack Iran”

Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton threatened to “obliterate” Iran if it launches a nuclear attack on Israel, in an interview broadcast Tuesday.
“I want the Iranians to know that if I’m the president, we will attack Iran,” Clinton told ABC News, asked what she would do as president were Iran to launch a nuclear attack on Israel.
“In the next 10 years, during which they might foolishly consider launching an attack on Israel, we would be able to totally obliterate them.”
The tough talk came just prior to Tuesday’s Pennsylvania primary, a key milestone in the marathon Democratic nominations race pitting Clinton against her rival Senator Barack Obama.
Clinton must win the Pennsylvania primary, but she needs to do more than simply scrape past Obama to rescue her trailing White House bid, pundits say.
Obama’s camp Monday accused Clinton of trying to scare voters, as she rocked their White House race with a dark campaign ad featuring images of Al-Qaeda mastermind Osama bin Laden.
The ad uses pictures of Pearl Harbor, bin Laden and the devastating 2005 hurricane that swamped New Orleans, mirroring the “3:00 am phone call” spot credited with helping Clinton to win in Texas and Ohio last month.
“You need to be ready for anything — especially now, with two wars, oil prices skyrocketing and an economy in crisis,” the male narrator intones. “Who do you think has what it takes?”
Both Democrats have vowed to defend Israel against any Iranian attack, but they differ on how to engage the Islamic republic over its nuclear ambitions.
Both call for diplomacy, but Obama has gone further, renewing a promise of “direct talks” at a leaders’ level with Tehran and others the United States regards as foes, at a candidate debate here last week.
Iran should be presented with “carrots and sticks,” the Illinois senator said, while stressing “they should also know that I will take no options off the table when it comes to preventing them from using nuclear weapons or obtaining nuclear weapons.”
At the debate, he said: “An (Iranian) attack on Israel is an attack on our strongest ally in the region, one whose security we consider paramount.”
“That would be an act of aggression that I would consider unacceptable, and the United States would take appropriate action.”

Headed for Olympics? Beware of Big Brother
Olympic Attendees Will Be Bugged and Searched, U.S. State Department Says
ABC News
March 21, 2008
If you’re planning on attending this summer’s Olympic Games in Beijing, expect your hotel room to be bugged and searched while you’re not there.
That’s one of the warnings in a new fact sheet on the 2008 Olympics issued today by the U.S. State Department to Americans who intend to go to the games that are being hosted by the Chinese government.
“All visitors should be aware that they have no reasonable expectation of privacy in public or private locations,” the fact sheet says. “All hotel rooms and offices are considered to be subject to on-site or remote technical monitoring at all times. Hotel rooms, residences and offices may be accessed at any time without the occupant’s consent or knowledge.”
This is similar to advice that U.S. officials visiting China follow. The U.S. military has been increasingly worried about Chinese electronic surveillance capabilities.
ABC News was granted exclusive access to the head of the U.S. Pacific Command, Adm. Timothy Keating, as he met with top Chinese military leaders in January. Keating told ABC News’ Jonathan Karl that even his staff members leave their electronic devices behind for fear that the Chinese could hack into them.
“It’s our assessment that the Chinese have the capability to penetrate our electronic systems. We would rather they not do that,” Keating said.
The State Department’s fact sheet also warns that Americans may not be able to access certain portions of the U.S. Embassy’s Web site while within China, a sign of China’s growing ability to restrict Internet access to sites it sees as challenges to its rule.

For some reason, Fox News continues to disregard the fact that Ron Paul is one of the GOP presidential candidates and he didn’t ignore Nevada like most of the presidential candidates.
I received the graphic above in my e-mail (click to enlarge) and don’t know to whom the credit is due. However, this screenshot was obviously taken of Fox News coverage of the Nevada results. For some reason, they failed to mention the 2 candidate, although they covered 1, 3 and 4.
Of course, most folks can easily figure out that Ron Paul was the candidate they “accidentally” forgot to cover.

Considering Paul’s exclusion from the New Hampshire debate, this incident, and a variety of snide remarks made by Fox commentators, it’s starting to look like Fox News has a political agenda. I wonder how this squares with campaign finance regulations, as corporations aren’t supposed to be making in-kind contributions to federal campaigns. I may disagree with the regulations, but it seems that John McCain shouldn’t be able to benefit like this from a regulation which bears his name.
UPDATE: It looks like Fox is continuing with the same general level of distortion regarding incoming South Carolina results. I’ve been watching the results come in at CNN and haven’t seen any point around the time this particular screen shot was taken when Giuliani was ahead of Paul.
Ron Paul Bags Second In Nevada Caucus

So-called long shot candidate Ron Paul managed to finish 2nd place in the Nevada caucuses held today, which proves the Texas Representative may have more support around the country, and especially out west, than he’s getting credit for.
Romney destroyed the competition in Nevada with over 50% of the vote and finished first. Ron Paul came in second with 13%, and John McCain finished third, also with 13% but with fewer popular votes than Paul.
Independents overwhelmingly supported Paul in the western state, which clearly helped propel Paul into a much needed second place finish. Normally, independents support the much more liberal John McCain.
Fred Thompson finished fourth, Mike Huckabee fifth and Rudy Giuliani, again falling far short of popular expectations, came in a distant sixth place. Duncan Hunter rounded out the GOP candidates with a seventh place finish, barely picking up 2% of the vote.

Real ID: From “No Fly” to “No Drive” Lists?

ABC breaks the ice for us: in the future, and not too far into it, the process of getting and renewing a driver’s license will become more difficult, stressful, and fraught with all manner of unnecessary nonsense supposedly designed to protect us from terrorists, or rather CIA patsies paraded about to frighten us into submission, and as well prevent illegals from taking to the roads, never mind Alaska, Connecticut, Idaho, Louisiana, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Utah, Washington and West Virginia allow illegals to hold a license, thus demonstrating the above is little more than a threadbare excuse.
Of course, when the rubber meets the road, we discern the real reason — a national ID, complete with RFID and possibly biometrics, is all about easing us into the control grid.
According to apparatchik Michael Chertoff and the commissariat of Homeland Security, the whole affair is a matter of national security. “We are now over six years from 9/11,” Chertoff impatiently declared, “we live every day with the problems of false identification. Simply kicking this problem down the road year after year after year for further discussion, further debate and analysis is a time-tested Washington way of smothering any proposal with process.”
In other words, never mind that most people oppose Real ID and civil libertarians warn of vexing abuse, Chertoff and the neocons are itching to get us all in lumbering databases, the next step in a plan that will ultimately result in the chipping of the population at large.
“I think the time has come to bite the bullet,” Chertoff continued, “and get the kind of secure identification I am convinced the American public wants to have,” or rather the government tells them they must have, as most people hate the idea and eighteen states have passed legislation rejecting the law and Congress has refused to put any money into implementing it.
But never mind. It is a win-win situation for AOL, Microsoft, Verizon and Yahoo, all who stand to clean up if Chertoff manages to force his card on Americans at large. “The Information Technology Association of America (ITAA) sent a letter to Congress this week begging for more federal funding for Real ID,” Privacy Digest noted last October. In addition to the above corporate culprits, we can add Digimarc and Northrop Grumman, “companies that specialize in creating high-tech ID cards, as well as Choicepoint and LexisNexis, data brokers that make their money selling personal information about you to advertisers and the government. These companies stand to make millions in contracts from states who are struggling with a federal mandate to overhaul their licensing systems and share more data by the May 2008 deadline,” a date right around the corner, thus explaining Chertoff’s impatience.
“Real ID is so unpopular because in addition to being a $23 billion unfunded mandate, it will build a vast national database of personal information, expose us to a greater risk of identity theft, and move us ever closer to a total surveillance society.’
It may also be a way to keep “terrorists” off the roadways — not the Muslim cave dwelling brand of terrorist, mind you, but the kind that exercises his or her right to petition the government under that rusty old anachronism, the First Amendment to the Bill of Rights of the Constitution.
As we know, thousands of Americans are on the Federal Aviation Administration’s No-Fly List and the FBI’s Terrorist Screening Center has compiled a terrorist watch list of over 700,000 people. Moreover, as Dave Lindorff writes, the government is in the business of passing this information out to private companies. “The Wall Street Journal reported that the FBI made its list of people with even remote links to terrorism — having associated, perhaps inadvertently, with a terror suspect, for example — available to a wide range of private companies, from banks and rental-car companies to casinos.”
And who exactly are these primary terrorists, the ones you don’t want to associate with, that is if you ever want to fly again? They are “law-abiding Americans” who were detained and questioned — we used to call this harassment — “based on their political viewpoints,” according to Nancy Chang, a senior litigation attorney at the Center for Constitutional Rights. “I think what they are doing is harassing people who are opposing the war and publicly speaking out against administration policy,” John Dear, a Jesuit priest and member of the Catholic peace group Pax Christi, told Lindorff.
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=99882080920493477&hl=en
Back in 2003, we learned that the FBI “collected extensive information on the tactics, training and organization of antiwar demonstrators and … advised local law enforcement officials to report any suspicious activity at protests to its counterterrorism squads,” the New York Times reported. Of course, this is simply a continuation of the FBI’s COINTELPRO, initiated in the 1960s to “neutralize” the opposition — i.e., render activists not only politically impotent, but often wreck their lives as well.
In 2006, we discovered that COINTELPRO didn’t go away, as the official history would have it, but lives on to this day at the Pentagon. “An antiterrorist database used by the Defense Department in an effort to prevent attacks against military installations included intelligence tips about antiwar planning meetings held at churches, libraries, college campuses and other locations,” reported the New York Times. The database, known as Talon, “showed that the military used a variety of sources to collect intelligence leads on antiwar protests, including an agent in the Department of Homeland Security, Google searches on the Internet and e-mail messages forwarded by apparent informants with ties to protest groups.”
In short, the FBI and the Pentagon are still in the business of compiling lists and checking them twice, and many if not most of these people end up grounded, as noted above.
Now we have Chertoff and ABC telling us the same rules may soon apply to driving a car. As Chertoff told ABC, the Real ID is about preventing “terrorists” from driving — with illegal immigration tacked on as a selling point — and, if the behavior of the FBI and the Pentagon are any indicator, the real terrorists are not Muslim guys who were trained on U.S. military bases and had a fondness for cruising topless bars, but are antiwar activists and other troublemakers.
Soon enough, many of us – those who believe the Constitution says what it means — may be reduced to walking to work and the grocery store… that is until a Real ID card will be required to hold job or buy a loaf of bread.

Tim Russert predicts Paul could beat Giuliani in Iowa
Raw Story
January 2, 2008
Republican presidential contender Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) could be poised to beat Rudy Giuliani — once perceived as a frontrunner for the GOP nomination — in Thursday’s Iowa caucus voting, according to NBC’s Tim Russert.
Appearing on MSNBC’s Morning Joe program for a discussion about the latest Iowa polling numbers, Russert said Paul could realistically score a fourth place showing in the state.
“Having gone around and watching this thing,” said Russert, “to say for example Huckabee wins, Romney is two. McCain comes in third. Thompson is out — he has already said if he’s not two, he’s out. I think Ron Paul has a chance of coming in fourth here. I really do.”
Assuming former Sen. Fred Thompson (R-TN) took fifth, Russert added that it appeared likely Giuliani could slip to a lowly sixth place finish.
Conservative pundit and two-time Republican presidential aspirant Pat Buchanan said he believed the former New York mayor was now facing an uphill fight for his party’s nomination.
“I think Rudy is toast…I mean, you can’t go 0-4, 0-5, and come back and win Florida,” said Buchanan of the possibility that Giuliani could fair poorly in the opening contests of the primary season.
Giuliani has not campaigned heavily in Iowa, choosing instead to adopt a national strategy focused on other states, such as Florida, that vote later in the primary process. More than twenty states, including New York and California go to the polls on February 5.
“When you get to Florida and the February 5th states,” Giuliani told Fox News, “we’re ahead in some cases by large percentages and in some case by closer percentages. We believe it’s a good strategy and it’s going to work.”
The latest poll from Iowa’s Des Moines Register tallies Giuliani’s support in the state at five percent. Paul and Thompson each notch nine percent.

Ron Paul Plans New Event After Fox Debate Exclusion
Politico
January 1, 2008
Ron Paul’s campaign says he’s planning an alternative event at the same time as the Fox News Channel’s Republican forum in New Hampshire on Sunday if the network continues to hold back on an invitation, a campaign official tells Politico.
Already, blogs are alive with cries of “censorship” from Paul’s vocal and prolific followers.
Jesse Benton, Paul’s national press secretary, said he likely would hold a town hall with New Hampshire citizens — an event that would amount to counter-programming and would likely generate considerable publicity for the anti-war libertarian.
“We’re not going to sit around and cry about it,” Benton said.
“By all metrics, there is only a case for including Dr. Paul in the forum. We think it’s a little bit of a head-scratcher.”
Paul announced he raised $19.5 million in the last quarter of the year, and party sources say that is more than any other Republican campaign.
Fox News has not specified its exact criteria for the debate, but debate planners have long yearned to winnow the cast to permit more substantive and detailed conversation.
Fox has said it will make its final announcement about invitations after Thursday’s Iowa caucuses.
Benton said the campaign has placed about six calls to Marty Ryan, executive producer of political programming for Fox News Channel but said they have not been returned.
Ryan did not immediately return an e-mail seeking comment on New Year’s Day.
Paul will participate in an ABC debate in New Hampshire on Saturday night, Benton said.

ABC and Fox News Channel are narrowing the field of presidential candidates invited to debates on January 6, 2008, in Fox’s case infuriating supporters of Republican Ron Paul.
The participants for ABC’s back-to-back, prime-time Republican and Democratic debates Saturday in New Hampshire will be determined after results of Thursday’s Iowa caucus become clear.
Fox has invited five GOP candidates to a forum with Chris Wallace in New Hampshire on Sunday. Rudy Giuliani, Mike Huckabee, John McCain, Mitt Romney and Fred Thompson received invites, leaving Paul and Duncan Hunter on the sidelines.
The network said it had limited space in its studio – a souped-up bus – and that it invited candidates polling in the double digits.
Some livid Paul supporters are distributing e-mails calling for a boycott of Fox advertisers. A Fox representative did not return calls for comment.
To participate in ABC’s debates, candidates must meet at least one of three benchmarks: place first through fourth in Iowa, poll 5 percent or higher in one of the last four major New Hampshire surveys, or poll 5 percent or higher in one of the last four major national surveys.
ABC News anchor Charles Gibson is moderating both debates, each 90 minutes long.
